Using an XBox 360 controller with Mac mini

Is it difficult to pair a 360 game controller to a Mac mini? I do most of my gaming with my iPad + Apple tv and it usually works fine, but Bioshock is Bioshock so I'm thinking of getting that and an XBox controller.

Hello
Maybe the controller is faulty.
Have you tested it on your Xbox 360 and does it work?
Can you also test another controller?

    Hi,
I'm trying to use the xbox 360 controller with pro evo soccer 2010 on my laptop.
At first it was flashing, but then it stopped.
The drivers and everything have installed correctly, is there any other way???
In device manager, there are no exclamation marks, it seems fine.
But the game wont play, unless I use the keyboard.

  • Wired xbox 360 controller with Mac (steam)

I am new to steam but is there a way to have a 360 controller plug into your Mac via USB (do u need a special commuter controller or a adapter?) and use it to play games with steam? Also with steam can u plug in a 360 headset to talk or even get a Bluetooth for the computer to work with steam, any help would be great.

This guy has made a great driver package that works with both the 360 wired and wireless+receiver controllers: http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver. After install, there's a preference pane in System Preferences which you can configure and test the controllers. However, the 360 wired headset (the one that plugs into the controller) doesn't work. I dunno about the wireless 360 headset (the one that directly connects to the receiver) but I imagine it wouldn't.
As for other headsets with Steam, any microphone that the system recognizes will work. Go into Steam's settings and configure which mic you want to use with Steam. Unfortunately (this is my major annoyance with Valve's stuff on both Mac and Windows) you cannot configure voice to come through another speaker. So if your headset has a speaker, it won't be used. Voice will come out the same speakers as the game's sound. Annoying.

  • How to install xbox 360 controller on mac mavericks?

how to install wired xbox 360 controller on mac mavericks?
    i installed this driver
    http://files.tattiebogle.net/360/360ControllerInstall.dmg
    but is not working

    @mtnbkr81,
So you are trying to use the wireless controller? All that I have read points to more reliability for the wired when using it on a computer. Perhaps you should save money for a wired one?
I also forgot to mention the installation procedures on the .11 version. My controller does get recognized but as a genereric controller. Not specific to xbox360. But you can try this:
-Uninstall the pref pant and the couple of other files that have been written to your MAC. Use the search on "controller"
-once deleted run the .11 version of tthe driver. MAKE SURE THE CONTROLLER IS NOT IN THE USB PORT.
-after the installation is complete open up preferences adn you should see an xbox360 option
-open it and then plug in the controller
-it should then get recognized. You may need to play with some of the options.

  • Can I still use Appleworks 6.2.9 with Mac Mini 2012?

Can I still use Appleworks 6.2.9 with Mac Mini 2012?

Yes, MlchaelLAX, the KVM switch allow one to use one monitor, one keyboard, and one mouse between two computers.  It has been so long that I'm not sure how to find the MODELS to the G4 and G5. Unless you mean what makes the Mac tick.  The G5 is a dual 2GHz PowerPC, with 2 GB DDR SDRAM.  The G4 is a bit slower, will look tomorrow.
I want/need a newer Mac model because unlike the days before OS X, all software was included as the newer OS were added, not so today.  I'm still using Tiger because I still use a couple programs from the old days.  When I eventually purchase a new model, I will have to buy all new software.  That's find if one has plenty of money and wants to learn everything from scratch, but I'm hanging on as long as I can.
I tried TenFourFox, but it didn't allow video, of course since I tried Michael's suggestion, the video might not be an issue.  So far, every thing works the way it should.
I have a lot of faith in Mac users, their loyalties to Apple is what kept Apple floating when many thought it would sink.  These folks are survivors; I only wish the apple people on the top appreciated that loyalty today, but I guess things are too good.
Thanks to all for you kindness.  Tomorrow I will show my husband how to remove his yellow threat on his G4.  If anyone can answer any other questions, please know I will keep viewing this post.

  • How do I use the Xbox 360 controller

    Hello,
As everyone knows the XBOX 360 controller is the definitive controller for Windows gaming.
I'm working on two projects now.  One in Flash and one in Unreal Engine.  I thought,"Wouldn't it be great to work on three projects at once."
So the idea came to me that a comedic style hockey game could be made in Flash.  Flash is great for action games, and the P2P networking(thought could have been done better) is just sufficient to make a good multiplayer experience.
I do not however want an action oriented hockey game without analog sticks.  I've gotten the XBOX 360 controller to work in C/C++ in a Tekken Style Open Wolrd Game, and it was great.  Where do I get the XBOX360 code to integrate them into a flash game?
    ,Jim

The GameInput API's for Actionscript 3.0. You can get when you download and install the Adobe Gaming SDK, after that you would need to import the SWC.

  • Using iPad and LogMein app with Mac Mini Server

Hello everyone, I'm new to the community and I would like to ask your opinions on something I'm considering.
I'm currently using a MacBook Air beyond its capabilities. I'm running a dual system via Parallels since some of my work programs are Windows based.
I'm planning to pass the MacBook Air down to one of my employees but I'm stuck on what I will purchase to replace it.
I like the new MacBook Pro, but I don't like the $2200+ price tag. So what I'm considering is buying a Mac Mini Server ($900) and setting it up in my office with a HDTV as a monitor because I use construction design programs and the laptop screen is just too small for large drawings. The Mac Mini also has 1TB storage vs 256GB on the MacPro. I already have an external disk drive so that's no issue either.
Also, since I still need mobile convenience, I'm considering downloading the "LogMein Ignition" app ($130) and using this to log in remotely with my iPad for complete access to all of my files and programs.
What are some pros and cons I should consider before making this move?
Thanks in advance for the help!
    Kevin

    > If your server is behind NAT, there is almost certainly no need for packet filtering and you should disable it.
I disagree, Linc. PF is very useful to block known bad IPs and brute force attacks, which are an hourly occurrence, especially on ssh. I use this PF configuration for OS X, which blocks brute force attacks, updates IP blocks from emergingthreats.net, and more. My logs and pf table "bruteforce" are full of attacks and blocked sites (sudo pfctl -t bruteforce -Ts). I also run snort on OS X and can see that the snort alert triggers are greatly reduced by simply blocking all these packets at the network layer.

  • Using CS2/Flash Pro 8 with Mac Mini...

    Hello Everyone,
I am considering purchasing a mac mini and integrating it into my home theater, which I imagine would be awesome. I was wondering though if I would get good performance out of it when using Creative Suite 2/Flash Pro 8. Some people I've talked to say 'yea' and some say 'nay'. Opinions appreciated.
    -Ricky Bobby

hello my friend. I am graphic designer, and buys one mac mini intel to me, but is a small problem! the applications cs2 and study 8 not made update for the processor intel, run very badly. I recommend that if you must power PC G5 you are with her until half of next year, when it leaves to the market the new updates the programs, if no, beam as I and work a little slow but with a better equipment until they leave these updates.

  • Use macbook pro optical drive with mac mini

Just received my new mac mini. Wonderful.
I would like to keep my old 2006 Macbook Pro 2,2 and use it as a DVD drive. It is running 10.7.5.
Would you please give me some advice and pointers?
Also, I have a few files on the old MBpro I would like to transfer to the Mac Mini. What's the best way?
Finally, what else could I do with the old machine? It was a fine computer, and it feels sad being underused.
    Thanks,
    K.

    Amazing.
It took just a few minutes to find answers to my questions. Congratulations for such a user friendly OS.
I just had to connect everything and open the finder on my mac mini.
So, here is what I found:
    - "Remote Disc" is the name of the feature to share the optical drive
    - not every type of disc is supported though. Why? How can I watch a DVD on my 27'' display?
    - the MBP files show up in the finder, i can transfer them
    - using "share c=screen" I can see my MBP screen. Should I use that feature to watch a DVD on the 27'' display?

  • Using Cortona 3D Plug-in with MAC Mini

I'm trying to find some free software that will read a wrl 3d file. I installed the Cortona 3D Plug-in and have tried FreeWRL with no success on my MAC Mini.
Any suggestions for 3D software that works on the MAC Mini - I'm running Leopard.
    Thanks!

FreeWRL and Cortona didn't work on my MAC Mini but Octaga Player (freeware) works great. Problem solved!

  • Using xerox documate 510 scanner with mac mini

No drivers available on web for mac. I have searched in discussion board and seen posts for Vuescan. I have downloaded this software, but my mac mini doesn't recognize my scanner. Any help would be great. Thank you

I think you may be out of luck for now. I'd recommend emailing Ed Hamrick, who is the guy behind VueScan, and see if there is any possibility of Mac support for the 510. Apparently VueScan does support other Documate models.
I suspect the lack of Mac support in Vuescan is due to Xerox using an undocumented programming interface.
