Using Apple's sample project at your own gain, legal or not legal?

I found a sweet sample project in my Xcode developer folder called "Sketch". I would like to use it's code and redesign, redevelop, and totally flip it around to were I just used it as a template towards my own project. Is that legal to do? Considering Apple produced it as a sample project, not as a sample code to build on. Or would this be something to contact Apple about?

I've done that. None of them say anything about redistribution to an extent of mine. Most of them say stuff like this "I found this in other headers, but this one came from infoPlst.strings"

Open Apple Mail, and open Preferences (under Mail in the Menu Bar). On the General tab, check the "Default Email Reader" and set it to Mail (6.6).

Can you use apple tv to project from a regular projector and mac/ipad?

I am trying to project things from an ipad to a projector - wireless, without a HD but a regular projector and a Mac. Can Apple TV help me do that or do I need an actual HD TV to use the Apple TV to project.

Use a FULL BI system on your own laptop including Bex

Hi everybody
If you download the ABAP trial netweaver version it includes a fully decent working BI system in client 001.
Full RSA1 etc availabilty. It's also easy to use flat files as well for your source systems.
Bex (the EXCEL) version also runs proper queries etc just like on a full production BI system. CUBES, ODS'es etc etc all work just fine.
You can also copy business content from R/3 into the Abap netweaver system - I did it from the IDES R/3 system. Just activate the business content on the R/3 system and then replicate on the netweaver trial.
Copy also global settings and units of measure or you might get some "Units not available" when you try and create some real BI data. Just right mouse click after you've defined the R/3 system to your BI system.
Note however you'll need to install the FULL sap GUI (not the compact one in the ABAP trial netweaver) otherwise you won't have the Bex front end and you'll get dumps when you try and create DTP's
I'm not sure if SAP will continue to include BI in future netweaver trial demo systems so grab this one whilst you can.
BTW to get transfer between cl 001 on the sap trial demo and cl 800 on an IDES system run each system in its own virtual machine - I'm running 2 Windows 2003 virtual servers of 1 GB each on a 4GB laptop -- works fine.
Host system (Laptop) running W7 X-64 (SapGUI runs on this) with 2 Virtual machines running the SAP systems - you don't need to install the SAPGUI on the virtual servers.
The only problem I'm having is that there is a BIG difference in the screens between 3.5 BW and BI so a lot of the documentation on tutorials etc need to be a little bit changed.
Great learning tool for people who want to get up to speed (or even start learning) BI. Great also when you are stuck for hours on a train / in an airport.

Unfortunatly we did not have a better solution for our prototyp so far. Our assumption are as follow...
- Bi Object Types 7x use webtemplates
- Webtemples requiere J2EE Engine configured on the BI System
Since Java is not set up on our Sandbox we need to wait until the development system comes with J2EE.
For testing you can easily create query view out of query by open them in Bex Analyzer and save as query view.

Problem using European Galaxy S4 with Bring-Your-Own-Device

Hi!
I recently moved back to the United States from The Netherlands. While living in The Netherlands, I bought a Galaxy S4 and used that phone with a European carrier (Vodafone).
Now that I'm back in the United States I'd like to sign up for Verizon Wireless' service on my S4 via the Bring-Your-Own-Device program, but my phone's IMEI is not recognized by Verizon (online I received an error message stating "The phone associated with the Device ID you entered is not compatible with the Verizon Wireless network"; I also tried in a Verizon Wireless store and they were unable to find my IMEI in their system either).
I bought the phone brand new so I'm the original owner, and all Vodafone contract phones are supposed to be unlocked by default.
The phone does have a disclaimer saying that it's a European model, and must be used for at least 5 minutes on a European carrier before it will be eligible to be used on a non-European service. However, I definitely used it on the European network for more than 5 minutes, so this shouldn't be a problem either.
So - any idea why my IMEI can't be found by Verizon Wireless? I'd really like to use the Verizon Wireless service with my existing phone!

Verizon only has Verizon IMEI numbers in its database. what happened to you will happen to anyone who tries to activate a non-Verizon phone.
You you can try an already Verizon activated SIM from another Verizon phone and put it in your phone. However, you may still have a problem since Verizon tech is still based on CDMA for basic voice calls and the European model probably does not have that capability.

This is called "extended desktop mode". It's an extension of the desktop off to the right (by default) of your MBair screen. Grab an app and drag it off the right side of your MBair screen and it will appear on the TV.
To mirror your MBair screen on the TV you can press Command F1. This will toogle between mirror and extended desktop.
You can find all the settings in System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement tab.

I need chords that are unavailable once you make a "key selection. What would be ideal is for APPLE to allow you to use the 8 available chords for your own choice. It is very limiting. Especially when writing.

I want the ability to load chords into the 8 available positions once I have chosen a KEY. Currently Apple loads up the primary major and minor chords within that key. However it would work much better if I had the option to replace some of their choices for my own. In some songs I could use a 7th or not use a minor.

Yes, this would be VERY helpful. right now, the chord selections are limiting -- the ability to choose which chords you want in your 8 chord lineup would be very, very beneficial.
I understand that the automated choices help the musical novices to find chords that are in the same traditional family. However, maybe the ability to override that or vary the selection would be good for both novices and more expert users.

If your iPad is 2Gen or newer and has iOS5.0 or newer you can mirror (not 1 Gen ATV though) it so yes. You will need to be on same netwiork and apple id for both devices.

Uploading photos to other websites , like Ebay and Making your own playing cards, is not working. It was, now it is not. I have emptied cache, updated Adobe, but I really do not want to change browsers. 3 yr old MACBook Pro. Suggestions?

The uploader that allows me to uplaod my photos from Iphoto is no longer working consistantly. WHen I have a sight that where I am supposed to " CLICK HERE TO ADD PHOTOS" and I click, nothing happens. Sometimes after 45 seconds it might open up the IPhoto page but then the page is frozen and the cursor can't activate any thing on the page. I cannot scroll down the photos , make a selection or close the page. Another 60 seconds may goby and then the IPhoto site will close.
I use it for Ebay and also things like uploading photos for making photobooks and playing cards. I have done quite a bit to try and sort this out and I am at a loss. Not really very computer smart either! Emptied cache,restarted,checked security,looked at Java....and called Ebay for help. I really do not want to add another browser, like FireFox, as I didi that before and it interferred with the MAIL account. Any suggestions?

Stylus RMX - importing your own sounds?

After buying Stylus RMX I was disappointed to learn that I need ReCycle in order to import my own sounds/loops.
Does anybody know of a way to do this without using ReCycle?

if you ask me its better than using apple loops utility to convert your audio to apple loops
pay a little for the best or use a free apple loops utility for a standard loops

With regard to Jquery UI and tabs I've contacted the Apex dev team and received a reply from them.
All the jQueryUI files are included in the APEX 4.0 distribution, but not all jQueryUI components
are loaded by default to avoid a huge initial download. It's not necessary to load your own version of jQueryUI, just load the missing component.
For the "Tabs" you have to add

to your page template or the header attribute of your page where you want to use it.They did not mention which other Jquery UI widgets were not included so people need to check to see if they get any JS errors Like "$('#tabs').tabs() is not a function" this would suggest that tabs is not being loaded. To included it in you page header directly after #HEAD# you need to place the css and js as stated above.

How to create your own theme?

Is it possible to create your own theme for use with iDVD?
I know there are some commercially available (e.g. www.ithemez.com), but what tools are needed to create your own?

Actually, DVDSP has the ability to do everything that iDVD can do and much much more. The idea is to author your own themes in DVDSP, not use pre-made off the shelf ones... if you want cookie cutter design, go with iDVD. Even with the tutorials below, you are still limited on what you can do... that is a limitation built into the application itself. Perhaps a future version may change all that, but with added flexibility also comes added complexity. Some prefer keeping things simple.

i was on my i pad when I received an e-mail telling me that I had won a new Galaxy tablet as I used an Apple product to sign into Facebook frequentl,it told me to pay £1 towards the postage and that would be sent out to mew,,so I never done anything else, I had thought that because I totally trust Apple that I would have nothing to worry about,,so I thought I was getting a rather nice gift from Apple. Then I got a e-mail from a company called FUNCKYCLOCK please everyone remember this name,,they said thank you for joining their site and because I hadn't been in touch with them they had upgraded me and then they took £74 OUT of my bank account I'm in so much shock of this now I have found out it has nothing to do with Apple or Facebook they used their names at the beginning of the con so people like me trust everything and pay the £1 cost with my bank details,,I have to get this out so no-one else falls for this,,,I am trying right now to get my money back but e-mails I'm sending they are sending yet another excuse back to me telling me to sign into their site and I will get a welcome pack,,,well I'm not doing that and I am just trying to get my money back,,I wanted Apple to know and other people don't look at this page it is nothing but a con.

Thanks for letting us know but some of us already know that the internet is full of con artists. Apple can't and won't police the internet. Gullible users like you are the reason why scam like this still exists today. Sorry to say that you have to kiss your money good bye. I hope they only took out £74. Contact your bank and ask them to change your account number. If you don't take actions, they will take out more money out of your account. That's a guarantee.
