Using Apple TV 3, I get mad pixel problems!

When I'm watching shows and movies, I get intermittent periods where I get bunched of garbled pixels on the screen - sometimes green, sometimes white... it's crazy. Last for a few seconds, but can happen several times over the course of a 1/2 hour show...
I've rebooted, unplugged, reset, changed cables, changed resolution, hooked directly to the TV...
Nothing helps.
Any thoughts on this?

As per topic, when I attempt to rotate my 40" TV to portrait setting using Apple TV, the screen becomes slightly pixelated. Is there anyway I can still resume the quality of the display?

I have been on the phone with frontier and they said the same thing you did. The apple tv and macbook pro are in the next room.Also frontier said before spending money on a new router and modem that there is a report of congestion on the phone lines and they are working on this issue. may be a bad phone line outside that is droping the router an issue only time will tell.thank you very much for your help this helped me.

Static while using apple's iphone BT

When im using apple's BT i get a lot of static, but when i turn switch to phone mode no static. Does anybody have some suggestions?

i got the Apple bluetooth when it first came out (July of 07 I believe). I experienced static to the point of being impossible to hold a conversation. I exchanged it 3x with the same result with all three. I even got a new iphone. When I returned the 3rd one I exchanged it for the Jawbone and have had no problems at all. The funny thing is each time I returned the apple product I got a different store employee and each one told me that "this was the first time anyone has returned the product" maybe the employee was misinformed but somehow I doubt it. Anyway I checked the forums here tonight to see if the problems with the static had been resolved and obviously not. Its to bad because I really like the style of the Apple Bluetooth and how it seemlessly syncs with the iphone. As good a product the jawbone is I just feel its a little bulky for me. I will stick with it for now however since its probably the best on the market overall.

Issues using Apple Pay at Tim Hortons

I Work at Tim Hortons and have tried to use apple pay multiple times, using different cards and none have worked. A few co-workers have tried and had the same result. When you hit "credit" on the register it activates the card terminal that does have tap to pay-which does work with my debit card. However, when you try to use Apple pay it either gets declined or says " card reafter error"
goolge wallet used to work but now does the same thing?

I do not see Tim Horton's in the list of vendors accepting Apple Pay --- yet.

Getting Green Pixels on some of my youtube/facebook videos

Hi,
Yesterday I got message saying that shockwave has crashed. Afterwards, for some reason I'm getting a lot of green pixels on a majority of my youtube videos. I'm getting this problem on facebook too. It's weird because youtube uses html5 while facebook uses flash, but they both get the same problem. I also tried this on internet explorer/firefox and I still get these green pixels throughout the video. I don't think my computer's graphics card is malfunctioning because I could still watch 720 and 1080 movies on my laptop. What do you think the problem is and how should I fix this?

Using Apple Configurator

Hi everyone,
We have approx. 2000 iPad/iPhone, and I had to prepare them all one by one. I'm now tired of doing this and I would like to prepare them as fast as possible, using Apple Configurator.
Each iPad/iPhone is enrolled on our MDM (MobileIron). But to allow the enrollement, I have many steps to do before :
1. Update iOS
2. Transfer our company wallpaper
3. Pass the first settings screens (Language, Wifi, General Terms of Use etc.)
4. Change wallpaper + activate lockscreen code (for MDM)
5. Create an Apple ID (to assist user but especially to install Mobile Iron app via AppStore)
6. Install 6 different app from Appstore (free ones, no Volum Purchase)
7. Enroll user via MobileIron app
As I know, steps 1 to 4 are possible via Apple Configurator, but I don't know if profiles will be installed or not.
Step 5 is avoidable (I guess) but it's mainly to help users and to keep control on accounts.
Step 6 is THE part I would like to avoid, but I can't find how it's possible to install apps without and Apple ID.
Step 7 is not avoidable.
Anyone has an idea ?

Hi Steven,
There are many ways to deploy iPads, and no one way is "the right way." They all have their pros and cons and are dependent on your deployment scenario. I've never used MobileIron, but I have used other MDMs and have streamlined a process that works well for us in our school district. Some MDM's have the ability to create enrollment profiles that could be installed using Apple Configurator (which would get rid of your Step 7 for enrolling into the MDM). Some MDMs also offer MDM enrollment by logging in to a website and downloading an enrollment profile wirelessly, which would also get rid of Step 7 for you. Regarding Step 6… with Apple Configurator you can install apps using one Apple ID (not requiring the end user to enter an Apple ID or password), but this requires the iPad(s) to be plugged in via USB to the provisioning computer. While app installation is technically possible wirelessly without Apple IDs, it requires an unsupported workaround that may or may not be possible with your MDM. Check with the MobileIron folks to see if they are aware of any workarounds and potential caveats.
A way to accomplish Steps 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 would be to create an "image" of one iPad and restoring that image on all of your other iPads. This can be done with iTunes by creating an encrypted backup (which holds passwords and many other customized settings) and restoring it to each of your iPads. You can also use Apple Configurator to create a backup and restore that backup to each of your iPads. You can install configuration profiles with Apple Configurator as well as apps so that may save you some steps too (can't install configuration profiles with iTunes). You can also use your MDM to install configuration profiles once they are enrolled.
Our process starts with restoring an encrypted backup using iTunes, which also includes the installation of a few basic apps. This takes care of Steps 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. For staff members, we have them enroll into our MDM using a bookmark/webclip that we include in our encrypted backup. They log in and install the enrollment profile onto their iPads wirelessly through the website. For students, we install an enrollment profile using Apple Configurator. This takes care of Step 7. For Step 5, we give staff members the instructions listed on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 . We are also able to deploy apps after deploying using a customized app store, a feature that our MDM provider has available.
Depending on the tools you have (MDM) and ownership model you choose I'm sure you will find the deployment process that will be most efficient for you and your users.

To show the reflected name, make sure to sign out of your current Apple ID and then sign in with the new one. You can do that in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and tap the Apple ID name and a prompt will come up with multiple option and one of them is Sign Out. Then tap it again to sign in with the correct spelling to get you going.

I'm having the same problem. It's not an issue with my TV, i've turned this feature off. I've tried playing with the ATV display settings but nothing works. When I stream netflix from my Samsung bluray player, I don't get the soap opera effect, but when I stream any video from the ATV, the soap opera effect is there. I'm thinking it's a choice that Apple made, but I really wish it could be turned off. Not a lot of people are searching for this, because it can be easy to overlook, but it's driving me nuts!

When there is a mismatch between the iTunes Store's records and your credit card company's records, you will receive an error message

I installed windows 8 using boot camp assistance. I finished and it looks like windows installed successfully. When I search for boot camp. It doesn't find it. When I restart the computer it comes up in windows. How do i get back to the apple side?

You did made a backup before you started all of this with BootCamp, didn't you?
One missed step with BootCamp and the whole Mac side of things can disappear.
I thought a Recovery boot and Disk Utility would be the quickest way to find out what you did.

Cannot get or send mail using Apple Mail on iPhone and iPad

Everyone in my household cannot get or send mail on their Apple Mail for iPad and iPhone. We all get the same message: "The user name or password for [account] is incorrect." This just started happening yesterday afternoon. No problems before that. I called my hosting company and Apple, and both blamed the other. My Apple system is always updated, so I have the latest version of Maverick. Had no problems with it up until now.
However, I awoke this morning to find downloaded emails in the same program, but when I go to "get mail," it says the same thing, and still won't allow me to send or receive.
Here's the kicker. I also use Gmail with the exact same accounts (yes, I need both since Apple Mail does things that Gmail doesn't, and vice versa). No problem! I get all my emails and can send with no problem. So, my hosting company claims it can't be them (makes sense). It only happens using Apple Mail, and I have several email addresses. None of them work (other than the strange phenomena of suddenly getting some of them downloaded for no apparent reason).
What do I do from here? I've changed passwords, deleted and tried to set up my emails, only to get the message that they probably will not work. And they don't. I have shut down and restarted my iPad and iPhone, to no avail.
Thank god for my Gmail account, or my business would be closed.
Again, this is happening on four devices in my home: 2 iPads and 2 iPhones.

I have a comcast account I use on my phone and use it for receiving and sending mail. When you look at the account in settings, you need to check each of these
incoming mail server: mail.comcast.net
username: the part of your email address before the @
password: your password
outgoing mail server: smtp.comcast.net
Under Advanced
Use SSL: On
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 995
If you cannot make it work from changing settings in the account, delete the account and start over. Use the "Other" setting when starting the account. It is a POP3 account and make the entries I gave you. Once you do that, it should check the entries and validate the account. You shouldn't have any trouble from there. Those settings will work from either the iPhone on cell, or wireless. Mine will even work when I'm at home on my wireless there, which is on the Comcast network.
