Using Apple TV and Bose desktop speaker

I can use Apple TV for music, but all of a sudden there is no more output when I select 'Computer' .
I get no sound from the output for speakers (or headphones).
Is there some known software glitch where it doesn't change back for appleTV, or do I have a likely hardware problem?

In iTunes using the AirtPlay icon?
Or are you selecting it using the AppleTV?

Open Apple Mail, and open Preferences (under Mail in the Menu Bar). On the General tab, check the "Default Email Reader" and set it to Mail (6.6).

You don't. Mirroring is duplicating your ipad screen on another projector - so you can't have another app going on your iPad without it also showing up on the projected image. Some apps are designed so that you see a different image in the iPad than the mirrored out display, but even then you're within the app itself.

Websites and third party Apps need enabling before they will allow AirPlay of Video content. Some Website/App developers have not enabled their products, some simply haven't got around to it yet, others have stated that they won't be enabling AirPlay (likely as a result of licensing issues).

An Apple ID which consists of a non-Apple address can perfectly well be used to create and sign into an iCloud account (most Apple ID's take this form). Your problem is that you can't create an iCloud account on Windows: you can only do it on a Mac or an iOS device. Once created on one of those you can sign into it on Windows using the iCloud Control Panel.

It was easy to set up, easy to use, got done watching the movie. Transferred from HDMI to TV and as my question above notes. Apple Support had me delete the image file from the following location:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator/Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.confi gurator/firmware/
The file name was iPad3,4_8.0_12A365_Restore.ipsw
I deleted this file and ran the prepare again and it download the iOS 8 ok and successfully prepared the iPad.

Notes - if notes are created in icloud notes (you may have multiple notes accounts) - icloud notes and only icloud are synced over all your devices and icloud server, so if you want to see those on the server you can go and manage (edit) on www.icloud.com.
Since notes synchronize by using same IMAP email server - turning them "ON" will prompt you to create mail address.
To add to that you do not have 10.8 that has it's own notes app, so your notes go to Notes folder in your icloud/me/mac mail and synched by your mail server.

Yes, HDMI is the only supported method. Also, with converters you will run into issues with HDCP (which will prevent you from streaming DRM content from iTunes etc) as well as resolution.

It can use Apple Tv, but will require a wireless network as well. The Apple TV has an HDMI output, and depending on the projector it may connect directly to it through HDMI.
There are adpaters out there that will convert from HDMI to several other types such as VGA or Composite oir RGB. It would not be directly an Apple product as it would work with the HDMI cable rather than the apple TV or iPad directly.
Basically your setup should be:
iPad -> Wifi Network -> Apple TV-- HDMI Cable-->Adapter---->Projector
If the iPad is iPad 2 or above you can mirror the entire display to the projector through the apple Tv.

When playing video purchased or home video added to itunes, the video stream traverses your local network only and does not involve the internet so should not cost anything to play -note you must be accessing video under Computers>your iTunes>Movies etc not using the top level Movies/TV ions which play prior purchases from the cloud.
An internet connection is needed by AppleTV 2 and 3 to play protected content as they need to be able to authorise - I don't know how much data this uses but tit should be minimal, no more than sending a simple email or two, if that.
If you buy your video from iTunes, then the movie and TV show sizes listed there will give a good representation of data needed to download or rent from the internet in the first place (either to AppleTV or to keep in itunes).
SD movie are around 1GB, 720p HD 3-5GB (720p) and 1080p HD 4-6 GB or so. The largest movie I've seen is Spartacus in HD which I've not bought but is listed as over 8GB.
If you have a monthly internet quota which is low, you may be better off renting in itunes than directly on AppleTV - as AppleTV has no storage it can often redownload the video from the start if you watch a rental more than once or don't watch it straight through.

Enroll and setup which app or apps you want. After purchasing, apple will send you a vpp spreadsheet that you import into configurator. The guide at the site listed above will help.
