Using Apple Tv as a wireless connection to second monitor

I gather from reading here that AppleTv will only display iTunes content
Is there a third party solution to allow anything on my computer to display on my tv also?
Also curious why Apple locked this great device to only display iTunes content and not everything on my mac

you might be able to devise a workaround (with old Mac or PC) using ScreenRecycler.

    Hi Jam.Hall
I am somewhat hesitant to say you will be able to use this camera with LabVIEW.  It all depends on what functionality you are wanting to utilise on the camera, and how much video you want to analyze.
     - If you want to use the wireless functionality, I am concered that the on board web server will compress and embed the video stream.  I do not beleive this is something we can access in LabVIEW.
     - If you wish to use the ethernet connection, if it is Gigabit Ethernet, then you should be able to use our IMAQ for GigE driver to bring in the feed, but looking at the specs for the camera, I'm not sure that this is an option.
     - My other suggestion might be to utilise the record video stream function that the camera has.  Depending on the format of the video file, you may be able to read in the recorded file and analyse it in LabVIEW.
If you could explain the purpose of your application, and what you would like to achieve with the system, there may be more suitable products that you can use.

  • Can I use the HDMI out on a HP ALL IN ONE TOUCHSCREEN Desktop to connect a second monitor with HDMI

Can I use the HDMI out on a HP ALL IN ONE TOUCHSCREEN Desktop to connect a second monitor with HDMI  in without any additional  software or graphics adaptor.  I have a 520-1070
HP - 23" Touch-Screen TouchSmart All-In-One Computer - 8GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive ? I used a HDMI to HDMI cable and the monitor was not  recognized.

Here are the specs for your HP TouchSmart 520-1070 Desktop Computer. As previously stated your computer Doesn't have a HDMI output, instead it has a HDMI input. This is designed to let you connect a game console, a DVD/Bluray player, etc. to use as a monitor.
If you wish to conect a second monitor to your computer, you will need to use a USB-to-video adapter such as the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39 or EVGA UV Plus+ UV19. Using an adapter like these with the touch feature of your computer may cause issues with pointer control and you may need to disable the touch feature to use "extended desktop".

  • How to connect a second monitor/TV to HP ENVY Beats All-In-One

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is even possible to connect a second monitor to the HP ENVY Beats All-In-One Desktop PC, because I'm trying to connect my TV as the second monitor through HDMI and I've tried everything that I could, but have come up empty handed?

    Hi,
What is the model/product of your AIO machine ? I many cases, you can't use HDMI port to connect to a TV because it is HDMI IN port. You need USB - HDMI converter/adapter to connect to a TV (or monitor).
    Regards.

  • How do you connect a second monitor to a MacBook Pro

i am wanting to connect a second monitor to my MAC so i can have 2 of my pages showing at the same time. how do i do that?

I am pretty sure the MacBook and MacBook Pro only supports ONE external monitor of any description, even though the cabling will support two.
The short story, that Courcoul has alluded to but not stated, is this:
All you need is an Adapter. All the software to do elegant multiple display work is already in place in your Mac, and will be activated automatically the moment you plug it in. Nothing to Install, no settings to change. Just plug in the display.
The default mode is Extended Desktop, where the one-monitor desktop is enhanced by having the area of the second display appended to its right side (or any other side you specify). The mouse moves freely from one display to the other, and can drag windows with it, which can be resized on the other display. You can even drop things so that half is on each display, and they will scroll and update "the right way".

  • Is anyone else experiencing problems with the thunderbolt port on their Mac Mini's regarding using it to connect a second monitor? I've got the Mini Display Port to DVI-D adapter along with a DVI-D cable and I can't get an image on the second monitor.

I had an dual display image / setup working twice for a few seconds, but then it cut out. I think there may be a problem with the thunderbolt port.

As far as I can tell you have only listed that you have a DVI monitor connected to the Mini Displayport socket (i.e. the Thunderbolt socket) via presumably the Apple Mini Displayport to DVI adapter and a DVI to DVI cable.
You don't appear to have listed what the second monitor is and how it is connected (even though not working). As such I cannot tell what may be wrong.

  • Connecting a second monitor to a iMac27

I have a problem with my new iMac27 displaying through a second monitor.
The second display monitor is a Samsung Syncmaster 225BW.
I 'm using an Apple Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter cable out of the iMac and connecting to the second display via an HDMI cable to a DVI-HDMI adaptor.
When I go into Monitor Settings it shows the second monitor okay but there is no display showing on the Samsung monitor.
To test the cables and setup I connected the same cable setup into my MacAir laptop and the display shows up okay on the second monitor confirming there is nothing wrong with the connectors.
    Can anyone kindly help?

for me this almost sounds like it could be a damaged mini display port on your imac. normally attaching a second monitor is just plug&play. and since you say OS X is correctly recognizing the display, this could be MDP/graphic card issue. is the imac still under warranty? if so, you might wanna call the apple support and if they know nothing then you will probably have to give your imac into repair

  • DVI connection to second monitor doesn't work

When I had the connection from my Mac Pro to my two monitors (20" Cinema display and 19" Princeton monitor), I had the black screens for a few seconds for both monitors then return to normal. It happens anytime. I read the forum and changed the VGA cable to connect the 19" Princeton monitor and now both monitors work fine.
Do I have to live with the VGA cable option or anyone know how to utilize the DVI connection capability of Mac Pro please help?

I tried to locate the right slot (x16) by going to

The problem is still the same with DVI connection to

I'm fresh out of idea's. I assume that your card is a 7300GT, correct? I had an out of the box failure with mine and Apple replaced it. I was lead to believe that there were quite a few failures with the card. Interesting, they didn't even want the old one back.
I'd go the Applecare route next and see what they say. FYI, I have two of these running three monitors (all apple flat panels) all on DVI connectors.

  • Connecting a second monitor to an Envy All-In-One

Please excuse my ignorance on this topic in advance.
I just purchased an HP Envy All-In-One.  Model 23o014; Product F3E94AA#ABA.  I'm running Windows 8.1.   I'm very happy with my purchase so far.
I also purchased an AOC E2470Sw monitor and would like to connect this as a second monitor to the All-In-One.
The AOC monitor has a VGA(? - 15 pin connector) connection), but also has two HDMI inputs.  I THOUGHT (with concurrence from my distracted salesman) that I could connect the two using the HDMI connectors on both machines, but I'm getting a blank screen on the AOC when I try it.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Sally

    Hi...
The HDMI connector on the base is an input, not an output. For a second monitor, you would need to go with a USB to video adapter.

  • When I connect a second monitor and change the solution so 1920*1080 the format ist 4:3 not 16:9

I connected a second display via mini display port to VGA adapter.
it works good, but when i change the solution to 1920 *1080 its only 4:3 not 16:9.

    Hi William
In iDVD selct file - new.  From the dropdown menu name your project, enter where you want to save it, select aspect ratio 16:9, save.
The templates you choose could be 14:9 or 4:3.  If you select a 4:9 for a 16:9 project you'll be prompted by asking if you want to change or keep. Make sure to keep original aspect ratio.
You should be able to  setup a 1pm, 3pm, 5pm menu in iDVD provided you exported the QT file with chapter markers. The chapter markers should be at these times.  Don't set the marker right at the start or end of a frame.

  • Cannot Connect a second monitor to HP 500-314PC

I have a new Pavillion 500-314.  It has a VGA and DVI-D connector at rear.  The comuter will not see my second monitor.  I have it conneced with a dedicated line DVI-D to DVI-D.  When I switch the monitors ,  the VGA works on both.  One monitor is old and so it is connected to VGA port.  The other monitor has both DVI-D and VGA, but I cannot get the DVI-D to work.

  • AE CC loses connection with second monitor and audio mixer (BLACKMAGIC) when switching to desktop

    specifications:
    Mac OsX 10.7.5
AE cc (part of creative cloud, up-to-date) NOT TRIAL VERSION
software for connecting monitor and adui mix panel: Blackmagic Desktop Video 10.0
second monitor: Sony Trimaster EL PVM 2541
audio mix panel: Behringer Xenyx x1204USB audio mixer
Blackmagic connects the Sony screen + Behringer Xenyx x1204USB audio mixer to the mac computer.
    the problem:
When working in after effects, we link the program to show the video preview on the second screen (the sony one)
While the work area is still visible on the Mac screen.
The audio is also regulated through Blackmagic so we can mix on the xenyx mix panel.
Everything works fine as long as we stay in after effects.
If, for a brief moment, even a second, we swhitch to the desktop, or an other program (internet, acrobat reader, etc) After effects looses the connection to Blackmagic (forgets it exists). So we suddenly have no audio, or no longer a seperate video preview image.
The option to select Blackmagic in the dropdown menu is also gone.
If we restart After effects though, it's connected again.
    Any ideas?
I added two screenshots to clarify.
The screenshots is when it does work, and after effects still recognizes blackmagic.
    Cheers,
    Andreas

When this happens, open Activity Monitor. Is Adobe QT32 Server running? That is required for QuickTime video preview. If it is not running, this is the troubleshooting you want to do:
