I can watch the preview but says can't purchase the movie because it is not HDCP compatible. Why?
Apple are not here, only fellow users. It's not Apple's choice as to what films are available for rent, it's the film studios that specify which countries Apple can have their films available for sale and/or rental and in what format (HD and/or SD).

Is anyone having trouble playing movies they purchased? I have no issue watching netflix or previews but I can't watch what I already purchased.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
Also check your payment details, make sure your details are exactly how they appear on your credit card statement, you might also try changing some of those details, saving them and changing them back again.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.
At this point in time, I’m wondering if this could be related to (but not restricted to) the new feature that allows others to come into your home and use your Apple TV to download and play their content on your Apple TV without logging into their account on your Apple TV. The Terms of Use for iTunes Store content have always been to require you to only purchase and play the content from the store in the location where you live and to use a credit card registered in that location. Previously Apple seem to have been somewhat lenient on enforcing such restrictions, perhaps now they are not. However I don’t really have any evidence to support this suggestion, except that changes made to accounts in these areas do appear to be helping many.
If you are successful in resolving your problem, perhaps you would let us know exactly which action resolved the problem for you. If you are having this problem to begin with, can you also tell us your location. -
When I play movies on my apple tv I can hear music, sound effects but no dialog from characters - no voices
Push and hold the select button on the remote while the content is playing. You should get an audio options menu. Guessing you selected one of the the secondary audio track options by mistake somewhere.

I bought a used PowerMacPC G5. I can burn and read DVDs, but I can't read or burn CDs. The CDs are not even recognized. After the drive searches for a while, the CD is ejected without any error messages. The CDs work okay on my iMac.
I am running Mac OSX 10.4.11. According to the System profiler the CD/DVD drive is a "PioneerDVD-RWDVR-112D." When I compare the information under this heading, the only unusual difference from my iMac is that the G5 reads "Burn Support: Yes (Unsupported)." My iMac reads "Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)."
Under the System Preferences the options are set to "Ask what to do" when a blank CD or DVD is inserted. Music CD set to open iTunes, Picture CD set to open iPhoto, Video DVD set to open DVD player.
Do you have any suggestions?

Politely insist on escalating the issue to a more senior person and eventually you should be able to get through to someone who can deal with this (you may have to wait for them to call you back) - you will be asked security questions and for part of your credit card number to identify yourself.

I have a first generation apple TV. recently I have rto change from HDMI input to my TV to a component imput. Now my apple tv will not rememebr my sertver password or apple ID which I have to re-enter everytime I use Apple tv which is annoying; how can I fix this?

I am able to sign onto and rent movies through Apple TV. Unable to watch. Asks to decrease TV resolution to potentially allow viewing. What is the problem? New TV with new router.

You cannot. The remote app is exclusively for remotely controlling an apple tv for playback of a library on your computer. If you want to play your computer's music on your iPhone you just use home sharing on both devices and play the music in the Music app on your phone, not using the Remote app on your phone.

it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

HT1551 I can share everything through iTunes but unable to mirror either of my Macs using Apple tv.
Q: Why am I unable to view my iMac screens using apple tv. I have share turned on, I have opened iTunes and signed in. I am able to play Vimeo, You Tube, itune libraries, also I am able to play my videos loaded from imovie to share on iTunes. But doesn't mirror screens. I am able to mirror my iPad without a problem.
Is your iMac mid 2011 or newer ?
Your profile says it is an older iMac.
If not, most older Apple computers do not have that feature.
You must also be running Mountain Lion or newer for that feature along with a Mac that is 2011 or newer.

anybody else having issuse with this really brothered by this had people over to watch a movie .....................Only rentals made on a computer can be transferred to other devices. You will need to watch your rental on the Apple TV.

I used to be able to zoom in and out on my computer screen while using apple tv. For example, zoom in on a certain URL or ribbon. Since the update, my screen is mirrored, but when I zoom in and out to show my Word ribbon up close, etc., the zooming doesn't show up. My zoom preferences are set on computer.
You might try restarting your device, your router and your Apple TV.

In my email mailbox, I can see a two line preview, but when I select the email to read it in detail, the body of the email is a blank screen. Any suggestions?

Rented movie on imac unable to watch on 2nd gen apple tv
I rented a movie on my imac through itunes. I would now like to watch that movie through apple tv (2nd generation), however the rented movie does not appear on apple TV. I only seem to be able to stream movies from my imac to apple tv that I have purchased. Is this correct, you can only stream purchased movies from imac to apple tv (2nd generation) not rented ones. thanks
I have played around with this for a while and am pretty sure you can't stream movies rented on an Imac via itunes to your apple TV (2nd generation). This is really annoying as I have a slow internet connection and being able to store rented movies on my imac would be really good. Why doesn't apple allow this I wonder?

Then click the Time Machine icon on the OS X menu bar, and then, select the "Enter Time Machine" option. Time Machine should open with a number of Apple Mail windows with copies of your email messages over time.
