Using Apps on Computer
Is it possible to use the apps on your computer in addition to using them on the iphone. For example I would love for my wife to use the recipe app and not use my iphone all the time when cooking.
Brian
You may wish to also submit a feedback to the Application maker and let them know you would be interested in a OS version of their app for the computer as well as iPhone.
Some manufactures might appreciate this feedback. And you never know maybe they might be working on it or might have a sister company who makes what you are looking for.
I know I use Evernote - and it has an iPhone version & Mac and PC installable Software version. So it is possible but only if the developers are interested in that kind of thing.

I downloaded pages from the app store and I can use it on my Mac login but it doesn't show up when my wife logs in to her account? Were using the same computer, just different logins.
No. You need to buy it for your Apple ID and for the other. You will have problems with updates

My sister and I each have an ipod touch. We use the same computer and itunes but each have our own apple id. Everytime I want to update an app on my ipod it asks for my sisters apple id login!? help!
When it asks for another ID on an App Update, it means that the application was purchased under your sister's ID but downloaded to your device from the iTunes library that you share. Even though you both have your own Apple IDs, since you are syncing on the same computer, you are using the same iTunes library.
Whoever purchased the app is forever tied to it, and you can only have one version of a particular app in a single library....
Does that make sense?
Cheers,

I have an ipad I used with a computer which's now broken. I bought a new Macbook Pro and signed into iTunes with my usual Apple id and pw. I connected my ipad to the new Macbook but it won't back up my photos or Apps from the ipad to the new macbook. Help
What do you mean " back up my photos or Apps"?
The photo sync is one way - computer to ipad.
You can transfer itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
Will i loose all my music and pictures and apps if i use a different computer
will i loose all my music and pictures and apps if i use a different computer?
In order to use a different computer than what the device was originally synced with, you would need to use a 3rd party application to back the information up, prior to syncing with iTunes.
If you try to sync on a different computer than usual, you will get a message stating that it will wipe all data out and start from scratch... and it will erase everything. -
Do I have to uninstall my trial apps for CC (expired) so that my daughter's subscription can begin? We both use the same computer, and nothing happens when she tries to download PS.
It is always a good idea to uninstall before installing new, so the system registry entries are fresh

I got a new computer for home and I am trying to transfer all of my music, movies, photos and apps from my IPAD. I have been using my work computer ofr this in the past but want to change to my new home computer. I can't figure out how to do this without erasing everything from it.
This is an extract from one of our senior participant; hope he doesn't mind me reproducing it here
Syncing with new computer
1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources. -
I have several pdf files in my computer which are organized in folders. I want to transfer them to IBooks (in my Ipad) and keep the folder structure I use in my computer. Is it possible to do it? Do I need any other app?
By design, the organizer (and any other database management systems) is there to prevent you from duplicating your media files. The catalog management allows you to have the same image in different categories or albums. Duplication in different folders is to be absolutely avoided.
The same image file can have multiple tags like 'family', 'vacations', 'birthdays' and be present in three different albums with the same names. On obvious advantage is less disk space. Another one with your present folder system is that if you edit one of your duplicates, the other ones are unchanged.
I don't see an easy way to make your present folder structure simplified for the organizer ... -
I am trying to move all files to time machine .
After i move them my start up disc says it is still full and can't use app. Also I noticed Logic App is making a copy od tracks on another part of computer. Is this why memory is full? Can i save these large files straight to the back up and still use them? You need a non-time machine hd to move files off of your main drive.

I had to take my hp back to factory setting and reinstall itunes, when I tried to use Itunes match it said i had to Deauthorize all my computers. I am using the same computer and desperately need access to my music.
When you reset to factory settings, the computer is de-authorised.
In iTunes menu Store > View Account > sign in > App Store > Deauthorise All.
Once done, authorise this computer iTunes.
Note: you can only do that once a year. -
I recently updated and restored my Iphone on a Mac. My music was erased, therefore, I am trying to sync all of the music from my computer into the iPhone, but it says that I need to use the original computer/itunes in order to sync, but it is the same computer and iTunes account. The error reads: The iPhone, "Name" is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and a sync with this iTunes library? If I click "Erase and Sync," will it delete my contacts, apps, etc?
The following may help: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

As mentioned in ths article below, run for Office 365 products on to a Remote Desktop Session Host server is not supported. You can install Office products for Office 365 to a virtual desktop, but the virtual desktop must be assigned to a single user.

How can I use a new computer without deleting everything on iPod?
Hey Guys
I need a bit of help.
My old computer died, it was running Windows XP. I've got myself a new computer running Windows 7.
I have a copy of my iTunes folders from my old computer (taken 2 days before it died)
How can I use a new computer without deleting everything on iPod touch?
I've imported all the folders (music, apps etc) into the new computer's iTunes, but when I sync my iPod
I receive a window asking if i want to sync i need to erase and replace with the iTunes library on the computer.
I particularly don't want to do this.
My wife also uses my iTunes for her iPhone.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank youMake a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup. Then restore the iPod from that backup and sync as necessary.

How do I use apps downloaded in itunes on windows7?
How do I use apps downloaded in itunes on windows 7 and can I put them on iPod touch gen2 and gen4? thanks to any help I can get with this would be fun to play some of the games apps
You can't use the apps on your computer, they can only be used on iOS devices : iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches. Depending on which version of iOS you have on your iPod Touches (Settings > General > About > Version) then you should be able to sync most of the apps to them, especially the newer model - an app's requirements, including the minimum iOS version, are listed on the left-hand side of its description page in the store.
To sync the apps, connect and select the iPod on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and then on the right-hand side on the Apps select which apps you want to sync, and then sync/apply that selection
