  • Using plain old mp3 player with iTunes on Mac

    Hi all,
I want to use a plain, old USB MP3 player (mass storage-type) with iTunes on my Mac (OS X 10.4.x). I asked this question over on the Windows iTunes forum at
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1264196&tstart=0
and wondered if there's anything that'll work on the Mac.
In Windows, I basically have resorted to drag-n-drop from the iTunes window to a Windows Explorer window showing the USB MP3 player as a removable drive, or to using iTunes Agent (http://ita.sourceforge.net), which is a Windows-only solution.
What's the solution on Mac OS X?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

I think a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous. If you're able to get music onto the player in Windows via drag and drop, I see no reason why that won't work on the Mac as well, provided that your Mac can recognize the drive. I would imagine it can, as I've never come across a PC formatted drive that my Mac didn't recognize.
There is also a freeware application called XNJB that apparently works as an interface between a Mac and a Creative MP3 player. I haven't used either, so can't vouch for them at all.
Just that like I said, a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous.

  • Can I use my new MP3 player in my car like an iP

I just bought a Creative Zen MicroPhoto MP3 player and I love it. I was wondering if they make a piece so I can play my MP3 player in my car like my friend can with his iPod. Just wondering.......

Any device that has a cable which connects to the headphone jack of an ipod will work with a Creative mp3 player. The best method of connecting is with a cable to the aux in on the car stereo, although some people have commented that the volume in their car doesn't get loud enough that way(it depends on the car). Another way to connect is using a cassette adapter if your car has a tape player. If not, the third option is using an FM transmitter(they are illegal to use in some places such as the UK though).

  • Using with Hotel MP3 player clocks

Many hotels have clocks with MP3 player connections. I can get my Touch alarm set, and the selected alarm sound will play thru the desktop alarm/clock, but I can't figure out (if there is a way) to have the Touch play something from the Library at the chosen alarm time. The only selections under Edit Alarm/Sound are 5 sounds.
    Am I asking the impossible?

  • Use Creative Zen mp3 player

Hi! Is is possible to connect Creative Zen mp3 player to the I tunes and import the mp3 music over to the Creative?

Jonas, probably not. See this link from Scott Patrie & Hudgie for a further explanation.

  • Speaker systems use with creative mp3 player.

i was interested in a creative speaker system and was wonderin if they are any systems available that enable you to play music from them via my creative zen mp3 player? could someone help me out here.
    many thanx

    p3dlow,
Any speaker system that can receive input from a single 3.5mm stereo minijack should work with a MP3 player. Are you looking for a 2.1, 2.0, portable or docking station? Btw, exactly which player do you have?

  • Using 3g as mp3 player

I have a 3g phone that is no longer active. Can I use its features except the phone without an active sims card?

Not sure what the problem is then.
I have a first generation iPhone that is no longer activated which I kept after purchasing a 3G a year ago last August. I've installed every firmware update released since that time on my first generation iPhone with the no longer activated SIM card inserted in the iPhone - the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when it was activated. I used the new SIM card included and pre-installed with the 3G for the 3G activation with AT&T.

  • P505-S8980 not uploading to MP3 player in stereo

I have been using a Sansa MP3 player since before having this computer. It was uploading in Stereo until I attempted to us a ion Profile LP turntable to transfer LP's to MP3 AND CD formats.
ion uses i-tunes and it did something to my sound system when I uploaded i-tunes.
I have since uninsalled all files related to i-tunes.
    Suggestions?

Are you referring to protected AAC files that you purchased from the iTunes store? If so, they are not mp3s, and cannot be converted into mp3s. All you can do with them is use iTunes to burn them to an audio CD.
If they are unprotected files, such as iTunes Plus purchased files, or AAC files that you ripped from CD, then you can use iTunes to convert them to mp3. Look in iTunes Help under "Saving a copy of a song in a new file format."

  • Mp3 player not recognised

I use a creative mp3 player. it would show on the desktop and in iTunes, but now doesn't. It shows in the USB list as connected but I cannot access it or click and drag songs onto it anymore. I have only done updates and nothing else.
How can I get the Mac to pick up the mp3 player again?

it doesn't show up in disk utility/repair .just the hard drives connected.
it only shows the creative nano plus in About this Mac , More Info ,USB devices .
    will keep prodding,
    THANKS TOM

  • Putting an HTML mp3 player into iWeb

I am trying to put an mp3 player into iWeb 09 using the files on my computer. Unfortunately i don't know how to do this. Basically something similar to the audio players that are on myspace and sites like that. Im a tad new to this iWeb business and therefore still trying to find my way about it.
I know there is a code to put in the HTML widget, just not sure where to get them from or which one is the most efficient.
Thanks for having a look, I would really appreciate your feedback.

You need the software and code to embed a mp3 player in your website :
Google will find it for you :
    [embed mp3 player website|http://www.google.nl/search?q=embedmp3+playerwebsite]
    Here's a link to one I use : http://flash-mp3-player.net/
Once you have the files, make it work on the webserver.
Then embed the webpage with the player with the HTML Snippet using the <iframe> HTML element :
    <iframe src="http://url.to.file.html" frameborder="0" width="500" height="500" scrolling="no" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>
Or paste the <OBJECT> code directly in the HTML Snippet. Make sure the pathname to the MP3 files and playlists are correct.

  • 5610 MP3 player

I am trying to use my 5610, which has a built-in MP3 player in my car via the car's AUX input.  I bought all the right connections but the car Aux input and stereo do not recognize my phone MP3.  I tried it on another car and the same thing happened.  I tested using an inexpensive MP3 player and worked on both cars so is not a car problem
    Any suggestions anyone?

  • A better MP3 player for iphone?

I've been using Apple's MP3 player since getting an iphone a few months ago, and have a problem in that it won't show play counts for me, which is a feature I really need to have. I listen primarly to lectures on my phone, but when I'm away from home I quickly lose track of where I am if I don't write it down all the time.
Is there a way to show play counts on Apple's player that I'm just not able to figure out?
If not, is there a better player out there that is able to update my play counts, not only in my iphone but in my laptop as well - I'm synced to it via iCloud?
    Thanks.

I just removed the 16GB SD card on which I had all my music stored.  I put it right back in....booted the phone up and now the phone doesn't even recognize that the card is installed.  Previously, it showed up in Settings....memory as N900 Micro.  Now it just shows a red icon indicating that no SD card is installed, when in fact it is.  What's up with this phone?  One glitch after another.  First it fails to find any contacts when creating a new SMS (I have 194 contacts in fact)....now it won't even recognize that the mini SD is installed.  I'm seriously considering returning it.
Have you replaced the back on the phone? The phone won't find the card without the back in place.
And you don't have to switch the phone off to remove the card, either.

  • Viewing memory on my mp3 player with iTunes 8

I use a Rio mp3 player and prior to the iTunes 8 install iTunes would show # of songs, total time and MB remaining which would easily allow me to find that last song, based on size, to squeeze on to the player and completely fill the memory. Now iTunes no longer shows MB remaining just MB total used. Is there a way to get the remaining memory to show so I don't have to break out a calculator or use trial and error to find a song that will fill that last bit of memory?

In the iTunes preferences, find the Importing tab and change it to Import as MP3 instead of as AAC (AAC is stored in an M4A file).
Then import your CD. This will produce MP3's which you can then put on an MP3 player.

    Thanks

I tried Notpod but can't get it to work.  Part of the problem, I suspect, is that I can't create a folder on my player (a SanDisk Clip+).  I also can't do this in Windows Explorer.  Whilst I can see the Clip+ in Explorer, the option to create a new folder isn't there.
The error mesag I get in Notpod is:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.  If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.  If you click Quit the application will close immediately.
InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelctedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex"
Then, when I plug the Clip+ into a USB port, iTunes thinks it is my iPad - which is because, I guess, Notpod hasn't worked.
I can drag and drop files from the Music folder where my iTunes tracks are stored onto the Clip+ and they get converted but I'd rather synchronise a Playlist from iTunes if I can.
    Thanks anyone who can help
