Using audio convert to make MP3 much bett

Hello,
Does anyone here using Audio converter - software provided along with A2ZS?
Well, i played with it last night and found something, still something not clear about it.
Im sure a lot of us here do store MP3 or WMP sound tracks on our hard dri'ves. I dont know how the sound to be compressed to be stuffed in our moderate hard disk size, some though, and this means quality of the sound tracks were much degraded. Dont know if it's correct to say it but let assumes it is.
Now, with this Audio Conveter, the source format (MP3 or WMP..usually played at 92kbs) will be easily converted to 96/24bit - WMP Lossless format for 2 channel or 5 channel at a huge sound track, about 0 times larger in size compared to the source format, there are still other destination formats i have tried but this giving the largest size sound tracks after converted, I guess so!
It could be that the Audio Converter has restored all the properties before being compressed back to its original state and that makes it big size, pls anybody correct me!
I played with it kind of late at night so not yet test the sound quality after convert, will try later. But anybody could tell how much the sound will be improved after being converted from WMP/MP3 (Source format) to WMP Lossless (destination format), compared to CD original state? Will the WMP Lossless be better or worse than the WMP Pro option?
If this is improving sound quality, it's worth investing money to buy an extra 80gb hard dri've, 'cause this eat up a lot lot of disk space! Dont you guys think so?
Thanks a lot

hi Singo,Thanks for your reply, so what the heck is it created for? I dont understand how people spent time and money for something that is not working at all!!! Or they just think that stuffing alot of things in the applications package would make the users feeling better, though it's useless!
The converter is just a program to help convert to another format or reduce the bitrate(file size). Some people prefer to use only mp3 and not wma and here's where the program come in use. You got to understand programs better before making such comment.

Dear All, We would like to convert a RealAudio "ram" file to Mp3. Is there a "free / shareware" pogram to do this ? Otherwise, what should I do ?

P.S. Not sure where to post this...

While I love WireTap (Audio Hijack does much the same)it isn't really converting the file. It does it's magic while the file is playing on the computer and taking that stream then recording it to the format you desire. This is not a digital translation of the file but a recording of it being played.

I personally do not know of a program to convert like you request but you might check out http://www.versiontracker.com for programs. "WireTap Pro" can capture audio from any internal source ( http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/ ) Of course, you'd need a player for the RAM file...

  • Expression needed!! Any help appreciated. Using audio converted keyframes

    Hi all,
I'm hoping this isn't to much of a complicated issue. I use after effects regularly but the expression stuff does have me baffled. I can convert the audio to keyframes with out an issue. What I'm trying to achieve is this - I have a talking head with the bottom mouth part cut on a sperate layer. i'd like the mouth layer to move up and down being driven by the audio. I can pick whip to the audio no problem but then I need to ensure it only effects one of the position values and also 'fine tune' how the audio effects that value.
    Please help!!
    Thanks!!

OK, I have managed to get it to do pretty much what I need to do. the only problem i have now is changing the value representation on the slider. i know you can right click the slider to change the value but when i link with the expression, the slider value changes back to 0-100. I can get around the problem by changing the anchor point but surely there must be away to 'control' the value representation in the slider??

  • For Superior Stability and Responsiveness: Use Spaces for Every App as Much as Possible

Hi. It's great to share this experiement. It's Hard to Crash Mountain Lion OS X with Spaces or even bring out the spinning wheel.
Any OS (it's good to have Windows, OS X and Linux all at the same time, best of all worlds) should probably be stable if each app was on a separate desktop environment or separate account (with the main one logged in, in the background). The permission were repaired (it crashed the last time I tried this with just one Spaces) using Disk Utility in Mountain Lion's Recovery partition.
Testing the overall stability and responsiveness: more than 12 app including Cinebench 12, Winclone, 2 3D Games from App Store (not Crysis or Rage but helps stress things along with Cinebench), all default Mountain Lion apps except Time Machine launched in one windows , Winclone cloning BootCamp a Win8 (upgraded from Win7) for hours, playing two 3D games (shooter Uberstrike and Marble World, fulscreen windowed) from App Store, Carbon Copy Cloner, watching a fullscreen movie on VLC, Activity monitor and iStats to see how the temperatures, CPU, GPU and memory are doing), quicktime playing a catholic chant in a loop- anything to bring the Mac, the whole system to a crawl, spinning wheel of death or to a crash which it didn't. Launching and relaunching app on their on Spaces was responsive even with all the system taxed at almost 100%.
There was around 12 Spaces running at the same time on the iMac i7 with 8GB. It's not the most convenient way to switch between apps (having everying in one Spaces and clicking on it still the best, followed by swithing via Dock), the gestures and mission control significantly made it easier to have so many Spaces and not that much of a burden to manage when you get used to it. It's much better than Windows 8 implementation for a less cluttered environment. The command-tab is good to combine with Mission Control gestures for switching from fullscreen apps.
.All that while running Cinebench 11.5 which taxes the CPU at almost and GPU 100% but surprisingly the fps shooter and Marble Worlds 3D games didn't crawl as I expected.Having an ambient temperature of about 30 Celsius, with full load the CPU temp was at 66, GPU was at 88, fans where surprisingly at CPU and optical disk fans were only at 900+ rpm with hardisk at 1000+ rpm which is the only 'side effect' to having taxing the system like this (I still have Applecare and Time Machine backup for a worry free test) is it confuses the SMC because without load all fans were at 1000+ rpm (I brough it back to normal with a SMC reset). All these for hours and there's still 1GB memory to use out of the 8GB (with 100GB hardisk space).
When I closed all 11 Spaces and brought all the apps to just one desktop, it wasn't as stable nor as responsive like I have experienced before. Marble World when you switch to it, would have artifacts, the game was almost a slide show. If you have lots of clips to copy past from on the Desktop and you have to hide all to see the finder and then Show All, Carbon Cloner would not show up right away and would have that spinning wheel. I quitted all the apps to prevent a crash and to bring temperatures down.
At first the Mountain Lion was almost a regret with some crashes but with Spaces, Misson Control and gestures for Mission Control, It's bring out the value and it just incredibly stable and responsive (Linux have their multiple desktop environment but Apple's implementation makes you see everything like a map almost bringing the convenience of just one desktop with all the apps placed strategically so you can click and switch to it faster). It's a great way to do a lot of things when you need to without worrying about slowing things down to a crawl.
    Thank you for your time.

  • Is it possible to download just "Creative MediaSource Audio Converter

    Hello everyone.
I was hoping if it possible to download just Creative MediaSource Audio Converter without having to download all of MediaSource. I have MediaSource installed on one PC but I just need Creative MediaSource Audio Converter on the other. Is there a way I can just download Audio Converter or can anyone tell me the required files I need for Audio Converter so I can just .zip them and put them on the other PC.
    Thankyou.

Nope; but that doesn't mean you can't install MediaSource anyway, and just use Audio Converter. I've got gobs of rippers on my PC; that doesn't mean I actually have to use them all.

I have used still photos to make a Quick Time movie using FCE.  The DVD made using i-DVD looks somewhat grainy and the motion isn’t smooth when played on my TV.  Other DVD’s I have made play much better and I am wondering if the problem is my Quick Time movie settings.  The Dimensions and size of the problem movie are 1920X1080 and 584 MB respectively, while the movies that play better  have Dimensions of 853X480 and are about 1.3 GB in size.  Is this the source of my problem and how do I change things for the better.

Are you exporting to QuickTime Movie, or to QuickTime Conversion?   For iDVD, you need to export to QuickTime Movie.   Exporting to QT Conversion will kill the quality if you are moving the video from FCE to iDVD.
The file size per se makes no difference.
What size (pixel dimensions) are the photos that you put into your 1920x1080 sequence?  Also, exactly what are the sequence properties ... is it 1920x1080i60 ... or i50?  In North America it should be i60.
853X480 is an odd frame size.  Where are you seeing this number?  It would appear to be DV-NTSC, which has a frame size of 720x480.  Your 1920x1080 frame size would not be DV-NTSC, it would be Apple Intermediate Codec.   DV and AIC will look different, for sure.
Also, your quality setting in iDVD can affect the final video.  You may want to check that also (in iDVD Preferences > Projects).  Set it to Professional Quality if at all possible.

  • Converting M4A to MP3 for use in Zen Mi

Can anyone recommend a good utility program (no spyware) that I can use to convert M4a files to MP3 for play in my Micro? Currently I am burning to cd then ripping again in MP3 format which is a hassle and I believe the quality declines during this conversion process. Any recommendations?
Apple had to screw it up with having their own proprietary format...

It would not be the file format conversion that would be the issue, but the DRM (digital rights management) that is in the AAC (M4A) format. Also that is not a proprietary Apple format. AAC is the audio layer of MPEG-2; Apple used it as it could carry DRM which in turn controls how you can use the music track. AAC is also quite good at high compression, ie low bit rate, but gives way to mp3 as the bit rates get higher.
You are stuck in doing what you are doing, that is burning an audio cd from your aac file then ripping/encoding to mp3 or wma to play on the Creative players.
(Makes you think about the cost of a CD vs downloading a compressed file doesn't it's)

  • Just how much better is nattres than compressor in converting pal - NTSC?

I am on the verge of buying the Nattres plugin but before i do i would like to know how much better it is than compressor. I did some test with compressor and the results are unacceptable. I have to send some stock footage to America from here in South Africa. The footage im trying to convert is half Betacam half DVCPROHD.
    Thanks
    Andre
I have posted this thread in the compressor forum but didnt quite get the answer i was looking for, although it was helpful

    I don't think Natress is over $75.
Natress is the only plug-in or software that has given us consistent results.
It also does PAL to NTSC or NTSC to PAL.
Rendering can take a while depending on the length of your sequence.
Edit in PAL and when you are done duplicate your sequence and make an NTSC version. You can then avoid having to convert footage that doesn't end up in your final sequence.

  • How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail

How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail?
My computer is Windows 7 and my Itunes software version is 1.0.2
    Many thanks in advance...

iTunes 1.0.2 is +at least+ eight years old.
The current version is 9.2, and it's free.
If that was a typo, and you're using something more current:
In the iTunes preferences, change the import settings to mp3.
Then select the songs you wish to convert.
From the "Advanced" menu, choose "Create mp3 version".
When done, change the import settings back to Apple Lossless.
    That's it.
BTW, this is the Logic Pro forum, which has absolutely nothing to do with iTunes.

To convert a song's file format
    Open iTunes Preferences.
    Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
    Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
Click the General button, then click the Importing Settings… button in the lower section of the window.
From the Import Using pop-up menu, choose the encoding format that you want to convert the song to, then click OK to save the settings.
Select one or more songs in your library, then from the File > Create New Version menu, choose one of the following (the menu item changes to show what's selected in your Importing preferences):
    Create MP3 version
    Create AAC version
    Create AIFF version
    Create WAV version
    Create Apple Lossless version
    Have a nice day,

  • I used to be able to convert songs to mp3 files, but dont see how to do it now

There used to be a place at the top of one's iTune Library where you could convert files to mp3's.  I have changed computers and in the new iTunes download, I don't see it.  Is there not a way to do that now?  Not giving additional information about my Apple products because they are irrelevant to this question.  I am using a Windows 8 system

I guess you can search the internet for audio converter to convert songs to mp3. There are many audio conversion software in the market. You can search the keywords on Google for it easily. Most are able to do audio conversion between various audio file formats as well as to extract audio tracks from videos. Just for your reference. If your iTunes works, I guess it can meet your needs.

The normal situation would be wanting to convert .m4a (AAC or Apple Lossless) to .mp3 as these are both music file formats. The extension .mp4 is normally for a video file and iTunes itself will only convert music files from one format to another.
For details on how to convert between music formats see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1550
If you want to convert the audio track of an .mp4 video to a .mp3 file then you are going to need to use a different utility.
