Using AutoFill in Ipod Classic 80 GB

I'm hoping someone can help me. Not sure why but i selected the AutoFill feature in the I-Pod Window, AutoFill Form (music) and it fill the I-Pod all the way up. Not what i wanted to do, mind you.
Having said that, is there a way to Undo the Autofill? or did i screw up and now have to start over. i hope not. please help

At this point, yes, it may be best to just restore the iPod to its factory settings via iTunes and start from scratch.

I am pretty sure that it does not harm the ipod. I have been using my iphone charger on shuffles, nanos, touches, and ipads, kindles, and more ever sense the iphone came out and i have never had any issues with any of them. You should be fine using them.

Yes. There is no limit to the number of iPods you can have synced with one iTunes account or library.
if i hook up ipod touch will i lose all of the stuff in library or can i sync library to ipod touch?
No you can sync your content to any number of devices.
Simply, plug new iPod in, configure it to sync with iTunes library however you wish and be on your way.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Updateentries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

My external hard drive quit on me. Is there a way to get my content(pics, music and videos) back onto my computer- This is the pc and iTunes that I currently use with this iPod Classic 160gig. I don't want to lose all my info. please help. Thanks.

All my content is still on my iPod classic but my external HDD quit and is not accessible. I am wondering if I can put some of my content onto my PC(my iPod has more storage than my PC hahaha pretty bad) This is the PC I used with iTunes with so I don't think licensing is an issue- But can I upload back to my PC without iTunes wiping clean my iPod because there is no more content on PC/HDD? I know I may need to send my HDD away to to a Data Recovery Specialist. But if I can save a couple hundred bucks to couple thousand bucks I would prefer this method... mostly worried about photos- can't download these again. Next time I will buy a second back up.

You'll need to get yourself a new drive big enough to hold all the data you are going to recover and then reading the tip B-rock has pointed you to. Read it carefully, it should guide you through the steps to recover as much as possible. You are wise to be worried, just plugging in the iPod and clicking sync isn't good enough but it should be possible to recover to most if not all of it.

Using Video with iPod Classic 80GB

I am James I am a new user with the iPod, I have a Classic Black Colour, 80GB. So far I use it for muisic, Photos and wanted to watch movies. Does it support movies at all? I put some video clips in mp4 format, itunes converted to a suitable format but then When I watched it, I could only hear it with a picture displayed and no movie loading. Is this normal? or am I doing something wrong?
Another thing is that I don't have a proper user manual? Do you know where I can download one?

On your iPod go to "Videos / Video Settings".
Then select "TV Out" and either set it to "off" or "ask".
Also, make sure you are accessing the video through the videos menu. If you have a video mixed in an audio playlist and you access it through that, you also won't be able to see the video.

Just bought a new car with a factory iPod ready stereo system. When using the USB input iPod Classic won't read but son's iPod touch does. Anyway I can fix this? I know my Classic works fine as I was using it in my other car and it works in my wife's car. Is the car just too new therefore making my Classic incompatible and soon to be obsolete?

the best option is to contact the car manufacturer or look at the manual to make sure it supports your ipod verision. if it is a custom radio then look then contact the manufacturer or look at the manual for same thing. you can try a reset with http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320.

I've just bought an iPod classic to store my music collection, but it says it can't be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. (I'm currently running iTunes version 10.6.3) I can't download iTunes version 10.7 because my iMac is running on OS X version 10.5.8. Whatever you do, DO NOT update to iTune 11. It won't work with iPod Classic.

All of you who use the 80gb ipod classic and have problems with it freezing and syncing with itunes...well I have joined the club. This is a serious issue with apple and they need to correct it. I have tried everything to no avial.

This is beyond frustrating. I just wasted 70 dollars between a new battery and gas for my ipod 80gb classic. It was having major issues syncing and freezing with itunes. I tried everything possible and noticed that a lot of people have been having the same issues with their ipod classics as well. I must have restored it several times and now it just totally bit the dust. Now I have to shell out 130 dollars to send it in to apple to be rebuilt/fixed. This is nonsense and I just cant believe apple isn't doing anything to address this issue. My ipod was doing great for about nearly 5 years and now this. I even down-graded to itunes 10.7, but by the time I had it set up to try, that's when my ipod totally failed and will not even come on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

New User - Query on using Shuffle on iPod Classic

I am a lover of both rock/blues/pop music and of classical music, I want the shuffle facility to operate on my rock/blues/pop category only. However when I use the shuffle songs facility it shuffles all categories and a rock/blues/pop and random classical musical tracks mixture does not make good listening. Is there any way of achieving the separation I want?

Make a smart playlist with the following criteria:
Match any
Genre contains rock
Genre contains blues
Genre contains pop
(or what ever genre labels you've used)
Then, shuffle just that playlist. If you don't want to mess with a smart playlist, just make a regular playlist and drag everything you want to hear shuffled to it.
And/or select all your Classical music, Get Info> and tick the Skip while shuffling box.
Mix and match. Best of luck.

Itunes not recognising ipod classic

Hi all, if your using a Black iPod classic 160GB with wheel on the front when using and connecting to iTunes, if iTunes does not recognise your iPod you will need to reload iTunes from Apple site, don't let any one tell you it is possible to uninstall iTunes THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE !!!!!! !!!! Even the people on the chat site could not tell me this. You will just need to reload over your existing iTunes, then when the system asks you, restore your iPod back to factory settings, don't fear as you won't loose anything! It will then take a while to copy everything back onto iPod, like a software update for iPod.I went through this experience and spent hours trying to uninstall etc until I got onto a very helpful guy in The States called Noble. I've seen a few other posts from people having issues with Playlists not being correctly synced with various models of iPod, but as yet, I've not seen a solution.
I guess we'll just have to wait for Apple to fix it in an iTunes update. I think it's an iTunes issue rather than a Classic issue, and I'm sure Apple already know about it, but if you feel like it, you could send them some feedback at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html or for the Classic at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html. Interestingly, the iTunes feedback has no option for "bug report". Make of that what you will!
Note that Apple do read the feedback, but they will not respond to you.
