Using berkeleydb in Blackberry devices.

Hi,
I have some experience in blackberry for small application.
Now I want to develop a database application for Blackberry device. I am going to use the device version 4.0 which is not having any embedded database like SQLite. I have a lot of doubts when I start the development of my application.
If anyone can answer my following questions, it will help me a lot.
1. Can I install berkeleydb in Blackberry version 4 devices? If it is possible how can I install it or How can I use it in my application OR please give some links to read to help me.
2. How can we synchronize the database with server. I need to store values in database offline and synchronize it to the server in one point.
Please give me some links I can download some document, How to install the berkeleydb in Blackberry devices.
Thanks……….

Hi,
BDB JE does not work on Blackberry devices because they run Java ME, and BDB JE requires Java SE. BDB (C edition) does not currently work on Blackberry because it is a C-based product, and RIM would have to support it as part of the platform. It may be worth asking RIM to support BDB as part of their platform.

  • Meeting invites not received on Blackberry device on Airtel using Google Apps

Greetings. This seems to be an ongoing problem but I could not find a specific thread to what I am facing, and hence creating a new thread.
Over the last two weeks, a lot of users in our office have suddenly stopped received meeting invites / notices. Most of them are using a variety of Blackberry devices almost all Curves 8520, 9230, 9360. We use Google Apps for our mail, calendaring and others.
Meeting Notices are not coming to some of the BB devices. When a meeting is created by an organiser (say me for example) and I invite two or three co-workers, the meeting notice e-mail is delivered and sits in their Google Apps GMail hosted mailbox, but it does not download to their BB. All other mail messages are delivered normally.
On those receipients facing this problem, I experimented with their settings in Calendar of Äutomatically add invitations to my calendar" to Yes and Yes, but don't send event reminders unless I have responded.
I have even deleted the account, re-added, and downloaded service books.
The wireless sync between Google Apps Calendar and the BB devices is working fine.
Can someone please help solve this problem and oblige.
    Thanks in advance

  • Multiple BlackBerry devices with one BIS account

    Hi,
I'm planning to get a second BlackBerry and I want to use it together with my current one (not at the same time of course). My provider (O2) supports up to three devices for one plan (they'll send me copies of my SIM card for the other devices, so they all can be active at the same time), so that's no problem. However, I also want to have both devices connected to my BIS account, so my mails will be pushed to both devices at the same time, and I want to be able to use BBM on both devices at the same time. I'm afraid that when I connect my new BlackBerry to my account, the old device will be disconnected automatically.
Has anyone tried that before or does anyone know where to find information about this matter?
    Best regards,
    Jonas

Well when you said copies of the SIM card, are they just giving you extra ones, each with a different SIM number? Each SIM card has a unique number associated with it so it should work.
Actually now that I think about it if it's a copy of the SIM card with the same phone number then I don't think it will work. Like you said before if you switch devices the new one will be active. I think if it's a different SIM card with a different telephone number (like an additional line on the account if you're on a family plan) then it should work.

  • How do you sync iCloud (contact, calendar, task) to outlook 2011 for Mac? and how do you make seemless sync between iCloud to Outlook 2011 to Blackberry device or an iPad?

I have three device: Macbook Pro (OSX 10.7.5) for work; an iPad and a Blackberry for mobile. I used mail, iCal, and Address Book combine with mobileme (iCloud) to exchange data such as contact, calendar and task from my Mackbook Pro to my iPad but never to Blackberry. The problem is my boss was asking me to change to Outlook 2011 for Mac because some of the email that I sent from Mail did not appear in my client's Blackberry. So how do you sync iCloud (contact, calendar, task) to Outlook 2011 for Mac? and how do you make seemless sync between iCloud to Outlook 2011 to Blackberry device or an iPad?

  • Adobe Interactive Form on BlackBerry device

    Hi,
I am trying to open an adobe interactive form (generated by SAP and Adobe LifeCycle Designer) on my BlackBerry device.
Instead of the document's content I get the following message:
When opening a PDF document containing an XFA form on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone the following error is displayed:
This document is an XFA form. XFA forms cannot be filled using the Mobile Adobe Reader.
Is there any possibility to open and maintain the document anyway or what is adobe's strategy regarding this scenario?
Thanks a lot and best regards,
    Thomas

They haven't really announced it, because there is no product to announce. Rather the opposite.
There are no conversion tools, so far as I know.
XFA forms are a non-starter if you want portability.
AcroForms are a nightmare in themselves, because the functionality is limited in Adobe Reader and varies between absent and weird in other products. No idea about Blackberry support.
You will not find a simple recommendation. Rather, you need to use Acroforms and carefully test everything (EVERYTHING: no assumptions) on every platform you intend to support.
Yes, rather unsatisfactory, but until Adobe realise that the future is platform equivalence or irrelevance, this is where we are.

    Hi
I just got this message yesterday: Your Emitac Mobile Solutions LLC email service is deactivated, Email messages are no longer being sent to your Blackberry device.
And since then, i havent being able to set up more than one email and i subscribed for 4.
I have rebooted\,, sent service books and hard set the phone so many times.
    What should i do?
    Thank you

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From your post, I cannot quite tell if you did all of this, in exactly this way. Hence, with a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry Device Manager can't find 9320 Bluetooth device (even Bluetooth is switched on and set to Discoverable)

I want to sync my Blackberry 9320 via Bluetooth to a Windows 7 Professional machine using a Bluetooth adapter. Syncing using USB cable works fine.
I can Bluetooth pair with the 9320 and also send / receive files to /from the Windows 7 machine. Fantastic !
HOWEVER, Blackberry Device Manager can not find the 9320 Bluetooth device (even Bluetooth is switched on and set to Discoverable) - see screen shots below.
By the way I have already tried (amongst other things) “Manually Install RIM Virtual Serial Ports in Microsoft® Windows® 7” on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK2n5dHxGHI  Unfortunately, this does now work - the drivers do load up OK and remove the warning signs when view in Windows Device Manager, but Blackberry Device Manager still can't see my 9320.
    Please help !

I have the exact same problem with my 9360. I have also tried all the fixes I could find on the Internet with no luck. I have posted a request as well. I will let you know if I find a solution. What gets me though is that this appears to be a long standing issue with no obvious fix! Best of luck.

  • Can't un-install Blackberry device

Has any come across a problem with trying to remove a blackberry device from the iSync software. I installed Pocket mac to enable syncing which worked very well but I don't use the phone anymore and I can't delete the device from iSync.
I have remove everything to do with pocketmac from my hard drive, I've removed isync pref and support folders but the device still keeps coming back. Clicking on the device and selecting remove device makes it disapper but when you quit and restart iSync it reappears. I can remove other devices with no problems. I've run out of things to try. Any advice would be welcome...

    SOLUTION:
I found this in the support forums (finally) related to a different device, but similar problem:
    <<qoute below>>
To manually remove plugins from iSync in Tiger, here is what you do:
    • navigate to the iSync application in your Applications folder
    • right-click or control-click on iSync, and choose Show Package Contents
    • open the Contents folder
    • open the Plugins folder
    • locate the Plugin that you want to delete, but sure to leave the other conduit.syncdevice folders alone
    • drag the folders you want to remove to the trash, then empty it

    This worked for me!

  • Tool Bar in New Blackberry Devices

    Hi...
I wonder Why Did Blackberry Remove the Tool Bar (Cursor, Option ,Dial & End Call Buttons ) in the new devices that have been released recently such Q10
which that Feature was A unique thing & it’s A Signature for Blackberry Devices Since the beginning of the Company like 9700,9790,9900
also it’s is very Important to me & the Other Users who like this Buttons Bar…I think
My Wish from blackberry that Re Use the Tool bar for the upcoming devices in the Future.
Please Press Like if you are with me in this...

Generally modern users want as much screen real estate as possible, making the screen a touch screen and moving these functions to that made it possible to have a compact phone with a moderately large screen suitable for browsing, playing games and viewing emails without excessive scrolling.
Who knows though, a reevaluation of what the USP is for BlackBerry may well see them return to putting these back in. Don't hold your breath though.

  • Hearing aid compatibility being ignored as new Blackberry devices are released...

I'm very disappointed in both Research in Motion and the cell phone carriers for making the newer Blackberry devices all M3 and  not M4/T4.
M4/T4 is the best hearing aid compatibility rating.  M3 is just average.
In the past, Blackberries have been M4/T4 rated and I've been very happy with the company for their support.
However, the newer models being released, including but not limited to the Curve 9700 and the Bold 9650 are all M3.
The Blackberry 8830 was M4/T4, then its successor, the Tour 9630 was M3, and sure enough the successor of that, the Bold 9650 is M3.
The Storm (both versions) devices are also M3.
I was researching the phones released by Blackberry; all new phones are M3.  None are M4.  However, if you are content with an older model, like the 8830 for example, they are still sold by the cell phone carriers.
The cell phone carriers work with RIM to determine how high the hearing aid compatibility rating should be.  Cheaper materials lead to lower ratings.  If the cell phone carriers and RIM used higher quality hardware, they could easily get the M4/T4 rating!
I've heard that the higher quality hardware really is not that much more.
These companies need to realize that M3 is not enough and that M4/T4 is the rating they should be striving for when developing phones!
I prefer newer models when I am eligible to upgrade because their onboard memory is often faster, their cameras are often better, and support for technology is better, etc.
So, I am just so disappointed that Blackberry has decided to back away from M4/T4 and offer M3!
This is unacceptable and both RIM and the carriers need to know this!
I have written my carrier to let them know about this.  Hopefully, the Blackberry devices will start being M4/T4 again, which they should be!

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!
You have some excellent points and suggestions. I would like that those don't miss the mark in reception by RIM. You see, these forums aren't a vehicle to communicate to/from RIM. Rather, these are user-to-user forums where kind souls volunteer to help out other kind souls as best they can. But, I have heard that RIM accepts constructive suggestions at [email protected]
    Good luck!

  • "This email account is no longer accessible by your Blackberry device"?

Please help. I have a brand new Blackberry and got an email saying my email addy is no longer accesible by my Blackberry device, and said it's likely caused by a password change. I haven't changed any passwords.
It's telling me to login to my BlackBerry Internet service account to verify the password is correct, but I have no idea what it wants me to do. I just got it last week, and attached it to my work email addy, and until an hour ago, it worked fine.
How do I access my BlackBerry Internet Service Account, and how do I figure out how to log in from there? Was it a special account I opened? I set up my email access thru Outlook and then configured it in the BlackBerry itself.
    Thanks for help!

Access the Email Setting Apps on your home screen -> login using required user name & password (if set previously) -> click email accounts -> delete the problematic mail ID and reintegrate again.
