Using blank User ID in AE

Hi all,
Due to the fact that AE will overwrite an existing UserID if it already exists (see other threat), we try to change something in the workflow.
It is still the target that AE will create the user account in the system by it self.
Our idea was it to create a final stage in the path called "Help Desk" which assign a UserID to the "New Account" request. Unfortunately, the UserID is a mandatory field if you initiate a "New Account" request.
Do you have any idea how we can realize that the "Help Desk" stage can change the UserID in the request?
It would be fantastic, if you can help me.

Thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately, it is not the solution I hope to get from AE 5.2
I can not limite the access of the RFC user, because I would like to create the user automatically in the backend system. So I have to find a solution how we can build the process a way, that we can ensure that only "not existing" UserIDs will be used.

Blank users appear in the CMC & Phantom JobServerChild processes

We are running BOE XIr2 SP3, FP 3.2
When viewing Home > Servers > xx.CMS, the list often includes an entry with a blank User Name and a session count usually more than 1. The Last Logon Time is almost always within a half hour of when I check the list.
Coincident with this mystery, and perhaps related, is the appearance of JobServerChild processes that have no corresponding active report or LOV. I added the "-maxChildReqs 1 -childProcTimeOut 30" options to the command lines of all Job servers to ensure the Child processes terminate upon completion of their assignments.
The Child processes were terminating correctly before the blank User Name phenomenon arose. Why do I now find several JobServerChild processes running?

For anyone else wrestling with this...
This problem appears to be related to Spry animation. Using
something like...

Sniffing the user-agent and disabling animation conditionally

How do I reset Tiger Mac OS X 10.4 admin password by using single-user mode

bought a used PowerBook G4 on Ebay. The administrator's password was locked. The Powerbook still can run to the normal screen. However, I am unable to update and install software without a password.
I don't have the original install CD either the second mac for firmware reset. So I wonder if anyone knows how to reset the password by using single user mode or any other methods to do so?
Any input will be greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

This morning we lost power and my iMac G5 (10.4) system got messed up. Specifically, when it restarted, all text in all Finder and application menus were blank (e.g. Click the Apple menu and a long empty white box stretching to the bottom of the screen would appear with no text. The whole box turns blue when you click in it. Ditto for all other finder menus and dialog boxes. Event the User menu was empty. The Disk Utility application shows only icons and empty buttons--no text.)
Restarting in Safe Mode was no better.
I then connected the G5 as a target disk to my iMac G4, and ran the OS X install that came with the G5 (10.3.2). It told me that in order to install an earlier OS X version, I must select certain options: I checked "Archive and Install" and "Preserve Users and Network Settings" (I have 4 accounts set up in addition to my onw admin account) and proceeded with the installation.
At the end of installation, the G4 started (G5 is still in target disk mode) with the G5 as the startup disk. It presented the User Login screen (although it normally does auto-login on my account) but the password for each of the 5 accounts was rejected. The original hints still appear, but it seems that all passwords have been changed.
I then tried the G5 on its own (not as a Target disk) but when it starts up the grey Apple turns into a grey "do not enter" (circle/slash) icon and goes no further.
Can you suggest what I should do now?

How to get default input values when using promt user for input

I use "promt user for input" to input some values. The messageboard appears with blank boxes then I will input new values. I want to make some default values in this blank boxes so that I needn't to enter new values. Is it possible ?

Right click on he Express Vi terminal and choose open Front panel to convert it into a standard vi. Then open it. Enter a default value for each control, then right-click on the controls and go to data operation > make current value default.

Strange Blank Users in FIle Sharing?

Does anyone know why I have 2 completely blank users in my file sharing when I click on Options? I was looking over the threads here and didn't see anything similar, but that doesn't mean I didn't miss something when I was searching.

Here's what I would do. Remove all those shared folders, but leave "File Sharing" turned on. If you want other people to have access to your Public folder, leave Public in that shared list - otherwise, feel free to remove it.
Now, you will only be able to access the computer using what I would call "normal" shares. This means that, if you are an authorized user of the computer, you can connect from another networked computer (using the Finder sidebar in 10.5, or the Network in 10.4 or earlier), but you will have to enter your login name and password. Once you've done that, you have access to your entire home folder - including docs, music, etc. Additionally, if you're an administrator user (ie, if you're set to "Admin" in System Preference - if you're the only user there, you will be), you will have access to the whole hard drive.
Nobody else will have any network access to your computer with this configuration, but keep that password safe and secure. And, of course, be aware of physical security - don't leave your computer unattended (use the "require password when waking from sleep or screensaver" in Security is a good thing to do).

Go to tcode CMOD. In the project field drop down your list there. Put a Z* there and run the list. These should be all the exits that are activated. Search for the ones that pertain to FI. You can also search by development class. You need a little ABAP knowledge to search easily. You get this by going to the tcode then to status then to the program then to the attributes. There you find the development class. Ie FBAS.

Submit batch job daynamically using batch user id

Hi,
I need to submit the background job dynamically from ABAP program with BATCH user id.
I have created new program. Users will execute program in foreground.
Had issue with USER id. If I give my user id then batch job successfully creating. If I give u2018BAICHu2019 id then it is giving the error.
Am I doing any thing wrong here?

Can any body tell me if that authorization is given to the user, can he submit any other job from front end?
As you can see if he can, it will conflict security issues of business. So If he is not permitted to execute these kind of statements in any other program, would he be confined to using diff user in this program only?
Or is there any other way-out to confine the user for getting this authorization for a single T-code or such?

We are having sync issues when trying to use separate user accounts and Apple ID's on the same iMac. What can we do?

My wife and I share an iMac and we each sync to it using separate user accounts and separate Apple IDs. She has an iPad 2 and I have an iPhone 4. We upgraded the mac to Lion and the iphone to OS 5. Now itunes only recognizes my apple id no matter which user is logged in. Now if I download the Home Depot app to my phone it automatically gets pushed to my wife's iPad, which she does not want. We want to keep things separate. How can we do this?

You can sync devices with the same iCloud ID, not seperate ones.
If she has a different login on your Mac, make sure she has her own ID defined in System Prefs > iCloud

Using one user account table across multiple databases but account used as a foreign key

I want to use one user account table from one database and use it across a couple other databases. The problem is that I want some tables to use the primary key from the user account table as a foreign key to access the data when the user logs in. Is this
the right way of going about it? Do I have to create a user account table in all my databases? What is the best practice to handle this problem? Thanks in advance.

Find My Phone - can I use same user + password for 2 phones?

Just loaded the "Find My Phone" App on my new iPhone 4 and set it up. What a great tool for locating a lost iPhone. The only problem is that my wife and I have a joint mail and apple ID account.
So, my question is can I use Same user name (mail account) and password for TWO iPhone 4's (mine and wifes)? I assume that would work since each phone has a different serial number, and it seems to be ok when connected to my computer to sync each phone separately.

Copy the movie from the current library to the correct library.
iDevices can only sync to one library at a time.

How to use CMS Users with SAP BOPC NW 7.5

Hello,
I have problems importing and using CMS Users with BO PC 7.5 NW.
I am trying two types of CMS-users
1. CMS Enterprise Users created in CMS and using "Enterprise" authentication
2. SAP BW Users imported into CMS using their SAP authentication "secSAPR3")
but both don't work:
In the BOPC Admin Client, I can succesfully select Security->Users->"Add new Users". Both CMS "Enterprise Users" and CMS Users that use SAP authentication are displayed in the "Everyone" Group.
The CMS Enterprise Users are displayed as <username>, e.g. "Miller".
The CMS users with sap authentication are displayed as <SAPSystem><Client>/<SAPusername>, e.g. "KBE100/Smith".
Now If I try to import a user...
1. CMS Enterprise Users
If can successfully import CMS Enterprise Users and add them to the ADMIN Team, e.g. "Miller".
The problem is they can't be used to log in to the Admin Client and Excel Client:
E.g. I enterUser-ID "Miller" and his CMS-Enterprise-password under password after starting Excel Client, an error message shows up: "The UserID, Password or Domain cannot be authenticated. Go back and make sure you entered valid credentials" ... (same error message as if the user wouldn't exist/wrong pw.).
Seems the user wasn't added as BO PC user. Or do I need to use any prefix before the "user ID" for CMS Enterprise users in the User_ID field instead of just "Miller"?!
2. CMS Users which use SAP-authentication (users imported into CMS from BW and use SAP-authentication)
In the BO PC Admin Client, I can't import them: I go through "1. User Setup" select "KBE~100/Smith", "2. User Detail", "3. Assignments", but if I am in "4. Finish" and click on "Apply", the following error shows up:
"Failed to create directory \root\Webfolders\<AppSetName>\<Appname>" for "KBE~100/Smith".
My guess is that the operating system doesn't like the "/" in the Username - but I guess this can't be changed bc. these Users from CMS and are already displayed with the "/" between SAPSystemID~ClientNummer and username in the User-list in BOPC Admin Client!
side remark: if I create a SAP CMS Enterprise user which contains a "/" in the username (on pupose ), I am getting the same error message.
Any help, explanations and workarounds are greatly appreciated - Any solution will be awarded with maximum points!

Hi Florian,
The problem seems indeed the file system on the bw not being able to handle "/". The automatic user import from the bw role into the CMC does not give you an option to replace the "/" character with anything else.
This should solve it:
- Go to the CMC double click the user. Delete the server part "KBE100/" and click save. Make sure the default system is set to "KBE100". The user should now be able to login from BPC with the user Smith.
