Using Bluetooth blocks wifi

Hello,
I have an early 2011 MBP 13''.
When I stream music from Spotify and transmit it via bluetooth to my stereo the wifi connection breaks down and I can hardly surf the web.
When I disable bluetooth all connection problems are gone.
I don't use any other bluetooth devices.
Does someone have the same issues or a solutuion?

I am having the same problem under the same conditions. I have a late-2012 Macbook Air and often use a bluetooth mouse with no problems. When using the bluetooth audio (Belkin N28) with Spotify, the wifi cuts out and I can't maintain a wifi connection. Restarting the wifi router has no effect. The IP address keeps getting dropped. Stopping Spotify has no effect. Turning off the bluetooth audio immediately allowed the wifi to connect and data to be transferred. Both the wifi router and bluetooth audio device are located about 5 feet from the laptop and work with other devices.

I have a Pearl 9100 (or something, it's the skinny one with the half keyboard). I would like to use it as a Bluetooth or WiFi modem for my iPad Mini. But it can only run Blackberry OS 6 which I think does not support WiFi tethering. So is it possible to tether via BlueTooth?
If not, then I'll throw it away and get something that can be used for my iPad Mini.

Using a BB as a Modem via USB or BT is a function for computers, not for tablets...refer:

However, what I think you are actually seeking is for your device to be a WiFi HotSpot, which could support other WiFi enabled devices. So, to research that, start here:

As you can see, that function requires two things:
BB OS 7.1
A adequate service plan from your mobile service provider
From what you've described so far, you definitely do not meet the first condition since you are on OS6.

Xperia link uses Bluetooth or Wifi?

I am a bit confused as everywhere I read that the Xperia link between the Z2 phone and Z2 tablet uses Bluetooth, but whenever I start a connection it switches on the phone wifi and I can see in the tablet wifi settings that tt has made a wifi connection.
How can I make a bluetooth only connection?

How to play the music in a HIFI system using bluetooth or WIFI

How to throw music from Sony Xperia Tablet S to another device, I have tried without success to throwthe music to Windows Media Player 11 (in a Windows Vista and in a Windows 7 computer), using DLNA/DRM, and also to Bluetooth. What I want is to listen the music in a HIFI system, without the need to be connected by a cable. Both DLNA/DRM and Bluetooth tecnologies should support this.
I have configured DLNA and I can play in the tablet music that is in the both windows computers, but the next step I am trying is to be free to play the music from the servers in the Xperia tablet using any HIFI system at home.

I have found the solution: check "Allow remote control of my player" option is checked in the Streaming menu (Alt + r) of WMP..
Here is the full explanation, I am able now to throw the music from the tablet to the laptop and I will connect the laptop to the HIFI system.
DLNA in Windows 7
I used the Windows Media Player in Windows 7 for initial testing. It does not comply to all DLNA specifications for all components, but it uses the same underlying protocols. It does have a "Play To" feature, which is an implementation of the capability I need.
Windows Media Player (WMP) is easily able to see all of the Media Servers on my network. If you can get to the beginning of the breadcrumb bar near the top of the window, all servers are easily selected. The breadcrumb bar is an easy way to switch between media servers and drill down to get to the media you want to search or browse for. The Search field is the only location in WMP I can easily locate. Just press Control + 1, to switch to Library view, then Control + e, to place you in the Search edit field. Here is a list of WMP keyboard shortcuts I have compiled, Windows Media Player To DLNA Devices in Word .docx format. I have not found easy ways to get to most controls, including the Playlist, other than pressing Tab many times. The exceptions to this are few. The Search results can easily be found just by using the Down Arrow key. Particularly, useful for streaming media around the house are two control accellerators; the Streaming menu (Alt + r) at the top of the window, and the Play to drop down (Alt + t) above the Playlist. It saves a lot of Tabbing around. They only work if in a list, like the Search or Playlist. Strangely, the Alt + t accellerator everywhere else brings up the Tools menu. The Streaming menu is needed to set up permissions of the Player to share media, act as a renderer to other Windows 7 players, set Parental controls, allow / deny devices on the network, and to allow media on this server to be piped out to your computer anywhere on the Internet. To assure that your Media Library is available to others on your home network anytime the computer is turned on, make sure the "Automatically allow others to play my media" option is checked in the Streaming menu (Alt + r). To assure that other devices (Android phone, another Windows 7 / 8 computer, or XBox) can play media on this computer, make sure the "Allow remote control of my player" option is checked in the Streaming menu (Alt + r). Note that Windows Media Player must be open on this computer for other devices to be able to select and Play to this player. The Play To drop down menu lists all devices on your networkk capable of rendering, more simply said Play, the selected media. In most cases, WMP will direct all network traffic and transcode formats to the format accepted by the renderer.
The "Play to" menu above the Playlist in Windows Media Player is also available as an option in the Applications (right click) context menu in Windows Explorer. This is probably one of my most used and favorite Windows 7 features! It displays a submenu of all of the current active DLNA Renderer devices at that moment. If there are none available at this time, the "Play to" feature is not in the context menu.

It probably won't work. Some USB PCI cards will work out of the box with OS X even though the manufacturers don't specifically support it. This ad does not list the card manufacturer or chipset so it's very difficult to tell much about it. Furthermore it states that to modify the settings it requires a Windows-based Utility. Unless the seller has a good return policy I wouldn't buy it.

hey there, is it possible to share my MBP wifi with Mac Pro 2009 which doesnt have and airport extreme installed (yet) using bluetooth? I sort of paired both devices, and internet sharing is ON on MBP, my Mac Pro connects but there is no internet! Im using Time Capsule as a router. Maybe someone knows the answer? Thank you

No. You can share it to an Ethernet connection, though: run an Ethernet cable between them and share to that connection.

Wifi degrades when using Bluetooth headset

I've noticed that when I use my Bluetooth headset (Sony Ericsson HBH PV-700) with my iPhone, the wifi (airport extreme) degrades or stops working. If I switch back to speakerphone or iPhone, them wifi starts working again. The PV-700 is only Bluetooth 1.1... perhaps iPhone requires 2.0 ?

k.alexander - thanks for posting. It's a relief to hear that another headset exhibits the same issue. Alas, it's also disappointing. The thing I most wanted to do with my iPhone was talk using Bluetooth and surf using wifi. I'm guessing it’s a proximity issue - both the Bluetooth and the wifi signals are emitted from the phone at the bottom through the black plastic. I upgraded to the iPhone from a Sony Ericcson z525a. I had no issues using Bluetooth to talk on it while simultaneously surfing on a laptop connected via wifi. Hopefully the Apple Bluetooth headset will be designed to get around this apparent limitation…

Does the Apple TV have any purpose if you are only using Bluetooth and cables/cords, not WiFi.

HT4111 Ipad 3 wifi performance very poor whilst using Bluetooth headsets

Anyone else noticing iPad 3 wifi performance slows down significantly whilst using Bluetooth stereo headphones? I can't even stream from YouTube or NBA.tv if I'm paired with Bluetooth headphone ( tried two different headphones). I can switch between Bluetooth and iPad speaker and watch the speed and performance increase instantly. I have and iPad 2 and it does not do this.

I have a MacBookPro running 10.6.8. I use Bluetooth to link to devices including keyboard and magic trackpad. I bought a Bose Wave III stereo and a bluetooth device. No problem with iPhone, iPad, wife's MacBook. Not working for me. Thoughts?

Apple might fix the problem with SL; they did release the 10.6.8 Supplemental Update, which fixed an HDMI problem. So we might get a fix.

Can I share music between Mac and iPhone using bluetooth

While I use Home Sharing to allow my phone and my wife's to access an iTunes library housed on my Macbook Pro, when we travel by air obviously we do not have Wi Fi available. I know I can buy a "Y" cable to connect two sets of earphones to my Mac so we can both listen to music without disturbing other passengers, but I'm wondering if we can eliminate cabling both devices to the Mac by using bluetooth?

How can I use Bluetooth on my iPhone to discover other phones?

I recently tried turning on Bluetooth on my iPhone to try to discover my wife's phone. My wife has a Samsung Eternity phone. Her phone was in discoverable mode and my iPhone never could discover it. I also tried this with my friend who has an iPhone and it still did not work. Is the Bluetooth on an iPhone not supposed to be used to connect two phones? I thought it was supposed to be used to connect to other phones, especially iPhones for gaming purposes. Please help me learn to use my Bluetooth correctly or inform me if the iPhone is not supposes to connect with other phones through Bluetooth.

If you check the iTunes Apps store and seem to recall that there is a program that will allow you to transfer Photo's between iPhones using Bluetooth. I stand to be corrected but is this not a feature of the new iPhone 3GS Ant..
