Using both itouch and iphone???

Hello all. I currently have an iTouch but may be getting an iPhone as well. Is it possible to sync both devices on one computer??? Is it possible to get my iTunes music/apps on both devices?? Basically, i want to be able to transfer the things I currently have on my itouch into my iPhone. Possible???

Yes. Be sure you assign each device an unique name.

HT4759 I want to use icloud mail on both iPhone 4s AND my pc. icloud mail on PC is mega glitchy and frustrating because my PC is ancient, I run XP, & these DO NOT MEET req's for iCloud. Is there a email platform that will run well on both XP and iPhone?

I NEED to use icloud mail on both iPhone 4s AND my PC. I need to use both.
Trying to use icloud mail on PC is mega glitchy (STOP SCRIPT WARNINGS EVERY FEW MINUTES) and frustrating because:
1. my PC is ancient (but nicely refurbished/fast)
2. I run XP (with both Firefox and Chrome- newest versions)
3. thusly, I DO NOT MEET SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS for iCloud.
In my passed attempts I found that
1. Yahoo doesn't work well on iPhone
2. Gmail doesnt work well on iPhone.
I must be missing something... an app or... maybe a donated/ NEW FREE MAC! (That would be sweet! Ha.)
Is there an email platform that will run well on both XP and iPhone?

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

Does anyone use both iPhoto and Aperture

I just got an mac book pro and I am trying to decide what to do with my iPhoto library that is on my old G4 eMac. I'm wondering if the best (and safest) plan would be to transfer that library to the new machine, bring it into iPhoto and then import the entire library into Aperture.
On second thought I wondered if it would be a good idea to leave everything in iPhoto and just open images in Aperture only when I want the extra editing tools... using Aperture for keeping all the "prime" photos and iPhoto for snap shots and iPhone pictures.
And... is it even possible to import the library from another machine directly into Aperture?

Pick one and stick with it. They don't actually integrate very much.
Aperture and iPhoto are entirely different applications that work in very different ways.
The only communication between the two is as follows:
Aperture is able to parse the iPhoto Library to allow it to import the contents while stacking the Originals and Modified versions, preserving metadata and so forth.
Aperture can share its Previews with the iLife apps, including iPhoto.
That's it.
So, specifically, what interaction there is between the two is designed to facilitate migration from iPhoto to the more powerful app. After that, iPhoto has exactly the same relationship to the Aperture Library as, say, Pages or iMovie.
iPhoto has no knowledge of, and knows nothing of how the Aperture Library works. It cannot read the Aperture library.
So if you decide to try this:
using Aperture for keeping all the "prime" photos and iPhoto for snap shots and iPhone pictures.
You'll end up using two apps to manage two different sets of photos, with twice the complications. Aperture is not an "external editor" and can't be used as such.
Think: Writing your novel in Word and TextEdit at the same time. "I'll write this chapter in Word, this paragraph in TE and then back to word..."
What of you wanted to sync your Photos back to your Phone? Which library will you use? You can't use both.
And... is it even possible to import the library from another machine directly into Aperture?
The routine would be to move the Library to the new machine and them process it into Aperture. Then trash the unwanted iPhoto Library.

Itouch and Iphone Cannot get connected to my Wireless router

I own the Itouch and Iphone, I seem to get a connection with the router but when i try and open up safari or youtube i get the followinng messege "CANNOT OPEN PAGE safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet". I have had my itouch connected to Mcdonalds Free Wifi so i know its not the itouch. I have reset the network settings by going "Settings, General, Reset, and then Reset Network Settings" (saw this on youtube and was advice to do so but still have had no luck) my Router is BTVOYAGER and i made sure its radio type is 802.11g. Please someone help. Thank you too all that reply and help.

Hi, I'm gonna bump this question as I have the same problem.
I have connected to the internet by broadcasting my own signal and by setting up a closed network with my ipod in the past. Today I had the internet signal connected and working and when I tried the closed network, the ipod internet stopped working even when I switched back to the open broadcasted signal from my macbook pro.
My ipod says it's connected but it doesn't work.
I reset the network settings on my ipod. I restarted my ipod. I even restored my ipod using the back up I saved in itunes. Still, the internet doesn't work despite the fact I get the full blue bars in the upper left corner.
I don't get a "safari can't connect" it just keeps cycling the circle next to the blue bars and nothing happens. My other applications also say things like "update failed" or "Cannot connect to Youtube"
Any ideas?

Advice on improving graphics for app for both iPad and iPhone

I am creating an app for both iPad and iPhone 4 and it looks terrible on the iPhone 4.
I have created the Flash File in Flash CS5.5 IDE with Movie Size 1024 x 768 and I am using the following AIR for IOS settings:
Rendering: CPU
Device: iPhone and iPad
Resolution: High
All my graphics are vector so I assumed that it would look crisp on both devices. It is not as perfect looking on the iPad as it appears on my PC monitor but I can live with it. I can't however live with the iPhone 4 appearance.
I am therefore seeking advice on how to improve the iPhone 4 appearance.
As far as I am aware, there is not a way to use 2 sets of graphics, one for each device. Please correct me if this is wrong and it would offer me a solution.
Would doing all the graphics as PNG be a solution?
Btw I am using AIR 3.2 SDK if that has any relevance and my graphics are static.

Can I use both Wifi and a Lan connection at the same time?

With me back in the dorms I have been limited to a slower connection than what I would like. Now we are able to use both Wifi and a Lan line so I was wondering to somewhat "double" my speed if there was any way to use both connections at the same time.
Now I know that you can have both plugged in at the same time, I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way that I could set programs to use one or the other? Or some kind of virtual desktop that is set to use the other connection or anything that would allow both be used at the same time.
Or am I just wishing for something that doesn't have any possible way to work?

You can use both at the same time, but not gor Internet access if that's what you're asking.
Now there is a thing called Link Aggregation, which combines a number of interfaces for speed/redundancy, but it really only works locally, and then only with ALL special equipment in the route, and most likely OSX Server involved.

I would like to know is it possible to use both INSERT and UPDATE at the same time in one interface because I have a requirement in which I have to perform both the task.
user send the file which contains both new and old record and I need to save those in MS SQL database.
If the record exist then use UPDATE otherwise use INSERT.
I looked on sdn but didn't find any blog which perform both the things at the same time.
Interface Requirement

> PI -
> JDBC(INSERT & UPDATE)
I am thinking to use JDBC Lookup but not sure if it good to use for bulk record.
Can somebody please suggest me something or send me the link of any blog or anything to solve this problem.

          If I have understood properly the scenario properly,you are not performing insert and update together. As you posted
"If the record exist then use UPDATE otherwise use INSERT."
Thus you are performing either an insert or an update which depends on outcome of a search if the records already exist in database or not. Obviously to search the tables you need " select * from ... where ...." query. If your query returns some results you proceed with update since this means there are some old records already in database. If your query returns no rows you proceed with "insert into tablename....." since there are no old records present in database.
Now perhaps the best method to do the searching, taking a decision to insert or update, and finally insert or update operation is to be done by a stored procedure in MS SQL database. A stored procedure is a subroutine available to applications accessing a relational database system. Here the application is PI server.   If you need further help on how to write and call stored procedure in MS SQL you can look into these links

    Still you might face some problems while your scenario runs. Lets consider this scenario, after the stored procedure searches the database it found no rows. Thus you proceed with an insert operation. If your database table is being accessed by multiple applications (or users) other than yours then it is very well possible that after the search operation completed with a null result, an insert/update operation has been performed by some other application with the same primary key. Now when you are trying to insert another row with same primary key you get an error message like "duplicate entry not possible for same primary key value".     There must be other methods to avoid this problem. But the point is you need to be sure that all access to database for insert/update operations are isolated.

In itunes it is called syncing and you can choose exactly what content to sync to all devices and it can be different for all of them

Your notes should be stored in your backup, so if you have backed up the iPad and that backup does contain those notes that you deleted, you can try restoring from your backup. If you haven't backed up the iPad since you created those notes, they are gone.
If you backup with iCloud only, restoring from backup involves erasing the device and then going through the setup all over again and finally restoring from the iCloud backup. This article explains the process quite clearly.

If you backup with iTunes, connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and right click on the device name on the left and select - Restore from Backup. My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

We are suffering very similar issues when communicating from my iphone to a friend who has both iphone and iPad enabled.
As long as I reply to an existing text chain, then it is visible on the target iphone. If I SMS the phone number, it gets routed to the IPAD!! And NO, I should not have to disable imessage when I want to send an SMS!!

not much response in here which surprises me...
Anyway... AS I am still looking for answers, I will share a couple of points that I realised...
in Airport Utility, I noticed that my iphone MAC address was actually showing as client connected, despite my phone network showing the spinning wheel next to the network name for ever and never actually connecting.
I am currently testing the router mode in Network to be on DHCP and NAT mode with a range from .2 to .200
My phone is now connected....
Everything seems to be ok and happy so far...
strange that this router and phone have worked together for at least a couple of years, the phone works everywhere else, and all other toys connect to my WIFI just fine. the list is as follow:
airport extreme
Zeppelin air
2x apple tv
2 ipads
iphone 4s
2 mac
1 pc
I have litterally just hard reset the router with a pin just now as a last resort... same...
I will leave the router as DHCP & NAT until a potential firmware or OS update...
