Using 'Brochure Paper'

I recently purchased a Photosmart 7525 all-in-one printer. The printer has worked very well using plain paper (8.5x11) and HP premium glossy photo paper (4x60 & 8.5x11).
I've just tried using HP Brochure Paper 180g 48lb double sided glossy 8.5x11. The paper does not feed at all from the supply tray. The 'lead edge' of the paper never moves forward to lift or feed into the printer --it simply lays flat.
QUESTIONS:
Is the 7525 printer able to work with this paper ?
Is there a similar paper that will work with this printer --perhaps not as heavy-- that will work, and will not permit printing from one side to be easily seen on the second side (regardless of whether the second side is printed or not) ?

Thoughts on the subject of Printing with Brochure Paper:
I know that for every printer I have owned and used (all HP),
the HP Brochure Paper works --
but only if I remember to go into
Printer Preferences > Paper/Quality >
Under "Media" > and Select for the Brochure paper
Your printer's setup / wording may vary a bit.
If I forget to change that setting, the paper sits there, or grinds through part way and gets stuck.
Brochure paper is very strong and it takes some effort to pry it from the printer.
I rarely forget anymore. Smiling.
Dragon Tip:
For the glossy, you nmight try setting the print Quality to "Best" to slow down the process and give the ink extra time to dry out a bit. Whether this works depends on the printer, I would think.

Print quality on iP 4820 very poor on HP Brochure paper!

I'm using HP Glossy Brochure & Flyer paper to print a calendar. The photos & graphics look dull & muddy, not the nice crisp photos I get with the same images on photo paper. I've selected glossy photo paper as the printer menu doesn't have brochure paper on the list. I've also tried printing with vivid color and the photos still look awful. I have to have 2 sided paper for this. What am I doing wrong?

For testing purposes, please try the Photo Paper Plus Glossy II or Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss options to see if the quality improves.
Unfortunately, if the issue persists you may have to consider a different type of double sided paper to see if the output is better.

Ink usage on brochure paper

I am making monthly calendars on my HP4240 400 Series Photosmart Printer/Scanner. I want to use HP brochure paper, matte or glossy, according to your answer, to print them. I am using 99 Photo Ink, which does an incredible job, I might add, on my HP photo paper. My question is, is there a notable difference in the amount of ink used on the brochure paper as compared to hp regular photo paper. I don't know what the saturation is on brochure paper and don't want to run out of ink mid-project. AND, is there a notable difference in the amount of ink used up to print on the matte brochure paper compared to the glossy brochure paper. I want to be prepared ink wise to complete my project! Thank you so much!

The matte paper will generally use a bit less link than glossy. Plain paper setting will generally use much less than glossy media.

Adding/deleting attachments using Fuego.Papi in OBPM10g

Hi,
I am seeking a resolution to the below issue. It will be really great if somebody can help me on this.
The scenario is as follows.
- Using global creation activity to fetch all eligible instances for a particular process using Fuego.Papi api.
- The aim is to show and add attachments to the instances if required by the user.
- Need to do this through a presentation, if needed jsp also.
Problem statement
- Is there any facility in the Fuego.Papi api to achieve this?
- Is there any connection between Fuego.Papi api and Fuego.Lib api? As instance variable are directly not accessible via Fuego.Papi.Instance object. Is there any way to typecast Fuego.Papi.Instance to Fuego.Lib.ProcessInstance?
- Is it possible to show the attachments individually in presentation or jsp is a must?
Since there is a change in api from 5.7 to 10g, I am finding it difficult to solve it.

Looking at you sequence, it appears that you have calling a subsequence that is removing steps from the caller's sequence. TestStand does not support editing sequences while they are running and we do not test this either.
When you execute a sequence in TestStand, the engine creates a runtime copy of the sequence that relies on some of the information stored in the edittime copy of the sequence. TestStand expects that the number of steps in both of these copies of the sequence to be the same. When they are not, it is possible to get an execution into a bad state. At the moment, your sequence is likely working because you are updating only the runtime copy and most of the references back to the edittime copy appear to be holding up. If you had in some way updated the edittime copy, I suspect that you would have seen a crash. Also, we actually reuse runtime copy of sequences within an execution, so the next time you called the sequence, you might find that the steps have already been removed.
If you somehow want to build a sequence in a sequence file prior to calling it, that would be supported. You just have to ensure that the file is not being used in another execution, i.e parallel or batch model.

For some strange reason my LaserJet CP1525nw color does not print on HP glossy laser brochure paper. It smears the color powder and makes lines on the paper. Does anybody know the reason for this?

What damage would result from using inkjet paper in a laser printer

The subject says it all really. If one accidentally uses inkjet photo glossy paper in a colour laserjet, would it damage the printer?
If it would how badly would it damage it? What replacement parts would be necessary.
Conversely if laser glossy paper e.g. HP Professional Photo Paper 200 is used in an inkjet, will it damage the inkjet printer?

Using glossy coated inkjet paper in a laserjet could certainly damage the laser printer because the inkjet coated paper is not designed to handle the high temperatures of laser printing, particularly the fuser roller. In a bad (maybe worst?) case the coating would delaminate on the roller, damaging the roller and requiring service.
Using photo paper designed for laser printing in an inkjet printer should not cause any damage, but the results are likely to be poor, wasting the print.

How do I change the page set up from manual to roll, cannon ipf6400 says paper tray empty it uses roll paper.

Nee help ASAP my IPF6400 printer is telling the paper tray is empty, it uses roll paper. I tried to change the page setup from manual to roll and its no letting me.

Hi, Chaz. I'm not sure what your Print dialog box looks like (it's created by your printer driver, and I use different printers from yours). But the paper size used by my printer is set in the Page Setup dialog box (also created by the printer driver), not in the Print dialog. Try setting your desired paper size in Page Setup and see whether it then stays selected in the Print box.
I don't know of any way to edit the list of paper sizes offered by your printer driver. Contact the printer manufacturer's tech support for advice on that, but don't be too surprised if they can't help you.

HP Photosmart Premium C309g Can not print Photos using small paper tray.

When I try to print using small paper tray, I get a message that states: "out of paper, add paper to main tray".
I have had this printer about 18 mos but have never tried printing found the small paper tray.
Does anyone have a solution to this ??

Hi,
Fisrt off all check if the paper tray is correctly on the unit, so take it of and replace it. Second go into printing preferances, select photo printing and find where you can select tha paper source, put it on phototray and try again.

Photosmart 7510 photo tray? how to use 8x11 paper?

I want to use photo paper that is 8 1/2 x 11,but am unsure how this fits the photo tray. Please can you show an example

In order to do anything above 5x7 for photo paper you simply load it in the main paper tray.You will have to remove all of the plain paper first, then put the photo paper in its place. The only other thing you want to do is make sure the software you are using is set to that size and type of paper.

OJ Pro8000 thin black line appear when using photo paper but not regular paper

When using both my OJPro 8000 and my wife's OJPro8500, thin black lines appear every 7/8" on the paper when using photo paper. This does not happen if I print on regular bond paper.

Anything? It's only happening in Photoshop, other apps print fine.

A versatile use of "paper"..

This is my first ever 'rant' on a bulletin board..

What is the big deal about "following instructions" - reading the instruction book which comes with a new camcorder, or following camcorder Menus?
Why do so many people not seem to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS..?
Along with the plastic wrapping, the battery, possibly a tape, a whole heap of cardboard, some electrical cables, perhaps a wrist-strap, and maybe a remote control - and a guarantee - there's a small wodge of thin white stuff called "paper" in the box, and it's got small black marks on it called "printing".
It may take half an hour or so to look at those small black marks, and it may involve turning over what are called the "pages" (..the individual slices or "sheets" of "paper"..) but it's half an hour well spent BEFORE using the camcorder ..and it can be done while waiting for that small piece of plastic - the battery - to fill up with electricity for the first time ..so you can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak!
Those small black marks on the "paper" actually explain the features of the camcorder: what it does; how to turn it on; how to connect it to other devices ..and - in the case of an HDV camcorder - how to get the pictures out of it ..in either HDV or DV format.. and into some other device such as a computer, for editing.
Am I the ONLY person whose first action when opening a box with a new camcorder in it is to read the instructions?

To comply with the conditions of posting here, I'll try to make this post helpful:
..It is often worth looking at all the little connection sockets on a camcorder, and seeing what their label says: it may say 'DV' or 'USB' or 'MIC - PLUG-IN POWER'. These say what the connections are for. Most camcorders have built-in 'Menus', too, which allow the Import and Export features of the camcorder to be altered to allow appropriate connection to another device, like a TV, DVD recorder or player, a computer, or another camcorder.
It's worth looking in the camcorder's Instruction Book to see what all these facilities allow, and to see how the camcorder can be interconnected with other equipment.
Doing this ..particularly in the case of a new HDV camcorder.. allows the new user to understand how to get newly-shot video out of the camcorder and into an editing program such as iMovie.
[..When I got this laptop which I'm using, I found that inside it, underneath the screen, were a whole load of little alumin(i)um squares with 'letters' on, arranged like this: QWERTYUIOP, and so on. I had no reason to use the word "QWERTYUIOP", so I couldn't understand what they were for, or what they did. But after a bit of thought, I realised that they could be pressed in a different order, thus allowing me to write, for example, the word UNQUESTIONABLE, or COURAGEOUS.

I believe you are mostly preaching the choir here. Those that read your rant are those that would help (and I'd bet that they are also the ones that have read the manual. Sometimes even before purchasing an intem). Those that ask basic questions like here are mostly also those that do not look for other treads (and even ignore threads that have the same topic).
It's a sad fact that many people indeed go for 'instant gratification' and want everything, now! No time to read a manual, I'd might miss some fun. There are times when we receive angy emails from customers who complain that they do not know how to enter a serial number. Although I will agree that the process can be made simpler (and we are working on this), it is described in the email, and the manual that comes with each of our products. Somehow people assume that they know everything there is to know, and infer knowledge about the current application from past experience. To be honest, this works in the 'real world'. Do you read the manual before borrowing your friend's car? Before using an oven? Sadly, this does not translate well into the world of software or computerized appliances (for which the software designers have to take some of the blame).
Btw - in your rant you wrote that people may use the time spent reading to charge their new battery. Nice try, but to do that they would have to read the manual first. Plus, not to put too fine a point on this - did you ever happen upon a poorly (read: Babelfish) translated manual?
All in all, though: couldn't agree more. Now, let's all get off this soapbox, and help the hapless ones that didn't like to read...

Issue with borderless printing using plain paper

Hi,I previously used hp 7000 wide format for printing borderless (edge-to-edge) on A3 plain paper from pdf or autocad or even ms word.Now I am using Hp 7612. Here i am not able to do edge to edge prnting on A3 plain paper using hp 7612 driver.My operating system is windows 7 32 bit and I have both drivers for hp 7000 and hp 7612 installed in my PC.I find the driver for hp 7000 better for me.Is there a possibility to integrate the driver for hp 7000 for my hp 7612 printer? Please need your help.

Hi Roshan, With step 2 you have to do the following.Open notepad just so you can paste text into a document. When you already extracted the software you just need to go to the 7Z folder.In the run box just type %temp%. There you should find the 7Z folder.When you find this map you should copy the entire rule. Just like you would copy an internet address.x Then you should go back to the driver into printer properties.There you should go to the advanced tab and click on new... When following those steps you should paste the link you copied earlier. Hopefully this is enough information for you.If not please let me know. Bas Pootjes

Can't use custom paper size in OfficeJet 7000

I"m trying to print invitations and returns on my OfficeJet 7000 Wide Format and it seems like half-sheet size paper is not supported. Anyone have experience / success / a clue? Thanks!

Under Paper-handling specifications > Supported custom sizes:

Try adding an alternative driver and check if that may help:
Right click the printer icon and select Printer Properties.
Open the Ports tab, take a note of the checked port and close this window.
Click Add a printer and select a Local Printer.
select the same port as used by the pritner and follow the steps.
At the model selection screen select HP, then select HP Deskjet 6940 / 6980.
Now try printing a custom size using the added driver and check if that work.

Using brochure template, the second side prints upside down. How to fix?

When using the brochure template how does one correct the back page from printing upside down?

From the application used to print open the printer dialog, then click on ettings or Preferences to access to Printig Preferences dialog.
Within the Layout tab change the Print on both sides option.
For a portrait oriented document select Flip on Long Edge, for a Landscape one select Flip on Short Edge, then it will print as expected.

Error Printing using flash paper

I have flashpaper 2.0 installed onto a windows XP Pro SP2, a
particular user is not able to use the flash paper printer. He just
gets Windows XP Printer Error box with 'Error printing - An unknown
error occured'.
There is an entry in the printer's queue, it too is marked
with 'Error - printing'.
When i log in (i'm an admin user) it works fine.
Any clues on where to look?

I have the same problem. Installed Studio 8 with Contribute 3
and FPV2 on WIN XP PRO SP2. I can't print to FlashPaper; I just get
the "Error-Printing" in the print queue. I have admin privledges
but still have the problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled
Contribute twice. I have downloaded FPV2 drivers. I have tried
adding FPV2 drivers through WIN XP 'Add Printer" process and always
the same thing.
