Using brushes in .rar format (7.x version) in cs3

I found just the brushes I was looking for in the exchange tonight but they are for photoshop version 7.x. I cannot get my photoshop cs3 product to recognize them. If anyone knows how to make this work, I would really appreciate it. Really. Thank you.

A Problem Using Brushes

I've been using AP3 since the beginning but had never tried to use all of the brushes until yesterday. All of the Quick Brushes have worked without problem but now trying to use brushes with highlights/shadows, enhance, curves blocks Ap3 freezes and I must force quit. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

'Previews' are temporary copies of the image. They aren't the real image and wont be used for anything other than accelerating how fast you can flip through images to find one you want. In the same way that Aperture and iPhoto generate 'thumbnail' views that wont be used for anything other than speeding how fast you can browse images... 'previews' are basically just screen-sized thumbnails.
iPhoto is a 'JPEG' processing engine. It can technically read a RAW image, but it wont work with it. It'll just convert it to JPEG and do everything from there. Aperture is really a RAW processing engine. It can technically read a JPEG -- but to do so sort of defeats the whole point of the power of Aperture.
People notice that they can 'browse' images in iPhoto much faster than Aperture. As well they should... it's faster. That's because when you adjust an image in iPhoto, it makes a copy of the image (a new JPEG) and makes the change to the copy. The copy is now stored with your changes as a permanent part of the copy. Once you save and move on to the next image, you can't undo an adjustment in iPhoto. The only safety net in iPhoto is that it does save the original image and you can 'revert' back to it. But if you do that you lose ALL the adjustments you made... you can't undo just one thing as you can do in Aperture. BUT... as a result of working this way, the image on the disk is the finished image. All iPhoto has to do is display it. This makes it fast to browse.
Aperture, on the other hand, is mostly used by pro or high-end non-pros. I would guess most have DSLR cameras and most of them use RAW. The size comparison of RAW vs. JPEG is huge... a RAW might be 15-20MB whereas the same image as a JPEG might be 100k. Also, Aperture doesn't actually 'apply' the changes directly to the master. It just tracks the list of everything you wanted to do to adjust the image. When you open an image, it opens the master (which is huge) and THEN it looks at the list of all the adjustments you've applied and begins to reprocess them (which can take a while) -- this combined with the fact that the average image size in Aperture is substantially larger than the average image size in iPhoto and it's no surprise that iPhoto is a lot faster. In summary, iPhoto opens a very small file and has no work to do other than display it. Aperture has to open a very large file and has a LOT of work to do in order to display it.
So to combat this problem, Aperture uses 'previews'. Basically it's cheating. It's doing what iPhoto does in that it saves a copy of your image (with all adjustments applied) as a JPEG. This means in "Preview" mode it can be every bit as fast as iPhoto. Unfortunately you lose a lot of detail & control when you convert to JPEG - you wouldn't actually want to use this for real work. So the JPEG is really just there to speed browsing performance. As soon as you want to change something, you must leave "Preview" mode and Aperture will work on the RAW version of the image.

At a first glance, their website is optimized for Windows only, it displays badly in Safari, perhaps it would be better in Firefox or other browser.

Could you return us the favor and tell us exactly what version of Pages on what version of OSX.

Apple Trackpad freeze when using brush tools

Apple MacBook Pro Retina, OS X 10.10 Yosemite Beta 1
I've just downloaded Photoshop CC 2014 Trial. I don't use mouse or tablet, but I use Apple Trackpad. When I start using Brush, Clone Stamp, Quick Selection Tool, etc cursor freezes between movements. In previous version of PS (14.2.1) everything is fine. I've made a video to show you this problem.

I've just reverted back to the previous build of Photoshop CC and the problem is fixed, so I'm gonna wait till the next release of Photoshop or the final version of Yosemite and give it another shot. My friend tested the same Ps version on his iMac running Mavericks and it worked fine with the Magic Mouse, so it's definitely some kind of incompatibility issue between the current Ps CC build and Yosemite.

PSE 12 keeps FREEZING when using Brushes

I am running PSE 12.1 and every time i try to use brushes on any command(delete or paint etc...). I have tried to delete files that others have suggested and I have also used the uninstall to remove preferences and still to no avail. I have a mac book pro running yosemite and I need help. No reason to purchase a program and it not work!
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME OUT!!!!!

and any lockfiles with the same names, then go to Saved Application States (at the same level as preferences) and delete any for PSE, then repair permissions and try again.

Sudden, and regular crash issue using brushes/Wacom Cintiq

I'm using Photoshop CS5 Extended 64bit (12.0.4) on Win7 Professional (64 bit) and recently have had an issue using my Cintiq 12WX tablet in that using the brush with the tablet (whether I'm using the tablet as the monitor, or my laptop as the monitor) causes Photoshop to crash, usually within the first 30 seconds of usage. This has become so regular that I expect it to crash and no longer can trust it to use, but at the same time I depend on its use to get work done, so an expedient solution is absolutely necessary. Does not crash if I use brush with a mouse, but that's not exactly a solution either, as you can imagine. I have been using this tablet with this Photoshop for a long time without incident, and I can think of no changes to the system I've made in the period when this began happening.
All drivers for the Cintiq are current.

Did not update it actively. Not sure if I remember if I have that particular driver set to update automatically or not.
What I have done, is turn off OpenGL feature in preferences, as searching for others with similar problems might have suggested that would work, but sadly it hasn't.
Will check on the status of the graphics driver (It's NVidia QuadroFX) and if it was updated recently without me knowing.

Unable to use PDF as a format only text

emailed invoices come out in unreadable format.
acrobat doesn't allow us to use PDF a a format only text.

I will do my best on your comments and may be repetitive (I am also getting tried and am sleepy). I get the impression that the result looks fine in Acrobat OR Reader. I an not sure reader can e-mail the PDF, but if it can the results often depend on the client e-mail setup (typically requiring MAPI to be active. Many folks (even my on some machines) just can't get the e-mail option to work. I would suggest that they simply attach the PDF to an e-mail directly, though I think you are trying to streamline the process. At least that may give a working process as you are trying to find out what is happening.
Howver, you also seem to suggest that the e-mail works (that would mean that the PDF was attached to the e-mail). In that case, my guess is that the e-mail package on the client machine is not set to encode attachments properly. I would suggest that encoding (typically MIME) be activated in the client for all attachments. Outlook has problems in that it often reads a PDF as a text file and does not encode it unless you force the encoding. When that happens the PDF gets corrupted.
If that is not the problem, then it may simply be that the fonts are not in the PDF or present on the receiving systems, causing a messed up font substitution, particularly if something like the MAC PDF viewer is being used rather than Reader.
I may still not understand the problem, but that is my best guess at this point.

How do I Download from Itunes store using the Apple Lossless format?

I use my music on a home sterio and import locally from CD's to Windows using the Apple Lossless format only, to achieve the Highest quality sound. However, When I buy from Itunes store I can only get AAC format, which is low quality. How can I get Itunes to give me only Apple Lossless format?

I do agree with what i have been said. I am a musician, i think AAC is definitely medium-low quality. I bought this year lots of AAC 256 for Itunes. I have been surprised. SO many times i need to go to the equalizer to counter-balance the weakness of this file format.
I advise you to do the following. Import a CD using Apple LossLess and then import a CD using AAC 256. You will see a HUGE difference.
Now i start to buy CD again in order to get the music Quality. Then i import my CDs to Itunes using Apple LossLess (920Kbps). You will ear that on Snares and Rides. Bass will sound more natural. Bass, Medium, Sharp will more balance with each other. You will hear instruments with more clarity especially when there are a lot of instruments. Because of that, you will not need to raise up the volume.
But more than anything... you will gain VOLUME in your files.
In general over the internet all the online music stores including Itune doesn't provide HD quality. AAC 256 is not enough. A track bought over Itune Store should weight 30 megabytes, not 5. And then you would decide to compress it or not.
