Using budget template, is "transactions" page supposed to update my "budget" page?

So im new to Numbers.  Ive been using Mint.com but I find that it lacks the visual of the pie chart and such.  Ive set up my monthly budget with a template in Numbers, however, in the 2nd page it asks me to list my transactions but when I do, I dont see it updating page 1 which is the Budget page.  Is this supposed to happen?

Hi Wildmangk,
Pop-ups are very convenient on the Mac as Ian demonstrates, and even more convenient in iOS, where typing is tougher.  They're great for preventing mismatches from typing errors. The basic idea is that you select the cells you want to populate by just choosing from a list rather than typing, and format those cells as pop-up.  You set up the list you choose from when you format the cells.
On the Mac it looks as Ian illustrates (though surely he mispelled the word in Australian for beer.) On the iPad the drill is essentially the same. You would select the cells in the 'Category' column of the 'Transactions' table (I tapped up near the top to select the entire column so you see the blue header as shown). Then, while the cells are selected, tap Format (the paint brush) then the Format tab then 'Pop-Up Menu' and you'll see something like this:
There you can delete, edit, add, etc. in the usual iOS way.
Once you've changed them, of course, you'll want to go back to the table in the Budget sheet and make sure what you have in the 'Category' column there exactly matches your new pop-up list.

  • Using blog template for home page

I'm trying to use the blog template for my home page, but the navigation bar disappears and some of the fonts change when I publish it to my folder. Anyone have experience with this?

iWeb appears to be picking up the font size and bolding from the previous text boxes, which are larger headings. The first few words or characters are bold and in the heading pt. size, then the rest of the text is OK. Originally, I had both the headings and text in the same text box. I separated them to try and fix things.
I tried changing the inset margin from 4 pt to 6. Didn't work.
I also can't figure out why my navbar doesn't appear on my home page (redesigned using the blog template). Oddly enough, if I load a different page and click back to my home page, the navbar finally appears, but that's no help if someone goes directly to my home page first.
    Thoughts?

  • Default values by the use of templates in transaction type

I am trying to figure out how to fill out a transaction (e.g. type SDCR), save it as a template and insert that template in the transaction type, so the next time I run this transaction people do not have to fill out certain fields as they are already taken care off (one is the Ibase). Something like in the Controlling module where you have a template you can create for internal orders.
I look at some of this, and within the transaction type (expert mode) there are two areas that are potentially interesting. First is the copy, I can copy a transaction but I am not sure what that actually does.
The second one is under extras>template>Create. I still have not figured out how that works as it actually creates additional fields (Item details, that includes fields like Product, Quantity and Description and other fields) and I wouldn't want that.
Then even when I save this template I would I get this into the transaction type?
If anyone can help this would be appreciated
    Paul

You could consider making a transaction variant:

  • Outlook 2010 Using a template to create an e-mail, updating it, reverting to orginal text in body when sending out

    Hi all,
have a peculiar issue with Outlook not sending out a template that has been updated. Windows 7. Outlook 2010.
I created a template using HTML and saved it as an .oft in a folder on our network. When a colleague opens the template, she modifies the subject and portions of the body. Her editor is also HTML.
When she hits send, the text in the body reverts BACK to the original template text. The subject header DOES update. Very peculiar.
    Any suggestions?
    Muchly appreciated.

    Hi,
Did you install any antivirus software on your computer? If so, please try to temporarily turn off them to check the result.
If it doesn't work, please try to open Outlook in safe mode to check if this issue is cuased by problematic add-in. To do this, exit Outlook, press Windows key + R to open the Run box, type
    outlook.exe /safe and press Enter.
    Here is a similar issue:

  • Making Pages Use MY Template?

So, I made a template and chose 'New from Template Chooser...' and choose my template.
It loads up 1 page. If I type in it, when it automatically spills over into the Page 2, it just goes to a blank page.
How do I make it use my template for all pages in my project?

    Chad
You need to "Capture" your Page design.
    +Menu > Format > Advanced > Capture Pages… > Name it+
Your design will then appear under the Section menu on the Toolbar.
The captured Section designs are like templates inside your template. What is happening at the moment is you have changed the first page but not the underlying section design, so soon as you add another page, up comes the blank section design.

Sure, it's OK.  I do it frequently.

  • How to create a template and child pages using mockup designed in Fireworks

I have created a website in Fireworks, and exported it to use in Dreamweaver.  How do I use the Master page in Fireworks as my template page in Dreamweaver?  When I bring in the .htm files from fireworks, it tries to bring in the entire page.  I have taken 25 hours of online training for Fireworks and Dreamweaver through Lynda.com, but there is not a specific video that tells you how to get your website from Fireworks into Dreamweaver if you want to utilize the Template and child page features.

Use Fireworks to crop, slice and optimize images only.  DO NOT allow any graphics app to generate your HTML code for you.  This results in poorly formed code and rigid layouts that invariably fall apart when you attempt to edit them in DW.  Fireworks / Photoshop generated pages are for quick prototypes or design comps to show the client.  They do not work well on production sites.

  • How do I find out the template that was used to create a new page?

We inherited a website from a previous developer. It is in ASP. When
we try to change say the background color of a page it says the page uses a template the changes we make will
not be changed. There is a template folder but each of the templates in it give us
the same message. There is also a New Templates folder but each of the templates there give us the same e
rror message when we try to chang them.
If I open say the home.asp page how can I tell what template was used to create the page?

I tried to change the background color of all the include pages I found like header.asp, etc. None of the includes are the main template. Is there another way to find out that it is?
    Thanks alot.

  • In Pages I used to be able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file".

In Pages, In the past, I was able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file". And I can no longer open the actual template, when template is clicked, it automaticaly opens an "untitled" version???

In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. The trouble is Apple does not get the joke, that it is transforming itself into a frequently self contradictory bumbling bureacracy. The price of unchallenged self appointed geniushood.
The incoherent half baked stumbling juggernaut has reached new triumphs with its edict on enforced Sandboxing on developers when it is unable to follow even its own instructions.

  • How do I create a master page when using Project7 templates?

    Hi,
I am using P7 templates to easily create a nice website. However, I would like to create for example the main menu only once and have it re-used on every page or at least every page I want to. I think this is a called a masterpage (?) where you can tag parts to be re-used on other pages.
Can somebody please tell me where I can find support, examples, tutorials on this? Or can somebody tell me how to do this in a P7 template?
    Thanks in advance!!

You want to save your project page as a DW Template from which your other site pages will be spawned.  Or, you want to use Server-Side Includes (SSIs).

  • Spry accordion works in template, but not pages using that template

So I added a spry accordion to one of my templates and changed the script to default closed. It works great. In the template. But not in any of the pages using that template. Basically I can see the content in the accordion on the page as if there is no accordion at all. And I can see the script and html telling me an accordion should be there. It just isn't. I can see the framework when in edit mode. But in live mode, it's like there's not there but the content.
    I'm using Dreamweaver CS6.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you for your time!

If the template has been created properly, then the Spry files should automatically be included in the child page(s).

  • How to apply a template to a page uploaded using sftp?

I would like to upload the .html document with the appropriate template using sftp instead of applying the template using BC's back end.

    Hi,
You cannot apply/assign a template to a page via sftp.  You'll need to action this via back-end or using DW.  Since you prefer not doing this in the back-end DW extension would be the alternative.
