if you buy like a song or a music video from itunes can u like play the video with windows media player instead and put the song on another MP3 player instead of an ipod if u dont have one?

The short answer is no. You can only use your iTunes purchases on an iPod (or I would guess an iTunes enabled phone such as the Motorola models). However if you burn an iTunes song to Audio CD you can import it back into iTunes in another format (MP3 for instance). You will lose some quality in the process but you can use this version on another device.

If you have turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My you will have to start by turning that off - requires entering the Apple ID password. Then remove the Apple ID from all places it is used, i.e., Messages, FaceTime, and so on. Go to the App Store and then Sign Out. Now you can enter the desired Apple ID and password in all of those places.

No. However, you'll save yourself a lot of annoyance if each device has its own Apple ID for FaceTime/iMessage.

I have googled a bit on using syslog on FreeBSD to receive events from other devices on the LAN & see that I need to start the daemon with the "-u" switch, if I am not mistaken. I have additionally searched on how to start my daemon in this way but have not found how to do this. Would someone be so generous as to explain to me which "conf" file I need to edit.
Extra points for the command on how to restart the daemon to make the config chage take effect without rebooting.
(note: I have already allowed the traffic through the firewall)

I think it is because you can only use one printer at a time with this model. See this knowledge base article for details. You likely have firmware version > 5.5 but I'm guessing don't have the relevant AEBS model. Take a look, though.

Hi Can anyone offer any advice? I'm looking to buy several airplay enabled devices to stream itunes around the house and understand that I can only play the same song out of all devices, but can anyone tell me that if they all have docking stations within the devices can I say play itunes from a docked station and then play other tunes to the remaining devices.

Hello, I have a nokia N95 and after installing nokia music manager v2.0 ransfered all my music from my computer into it. When asked the question do I want to convert to mobile format I said yes and it coverted all my songs successfully. The problem i am having is that I have a second MP3 player for when i'm exercising and now all my songs can't be recognised as their format has changed. Do you now how to convert them back. You should still have the old files in the computer or whatever.
You don't need to convert the files before putting them on the N95.
In general it's not a good idea to convert and re-convert files as every time you do this you loose some quality.
If you need to convert from AAC or eAAC+ to MP3 you need an audio encoder solution. Google Audio converter encoder. You should find 1000s in the internet, from free to shareware to software you need to buy.

I have the plexiglass speakers from my old iMac can i use them on other devices?

I have a pair of plexiglass speakers from my redundent iMac, having cleaned them up I would wish to reuse them, 2.5 jack -3.5mm jack not easy to find but not impossable however are there any other problems?

I do not think an adapter wiil work with those older round, plexiglass Apple speakers.
If they did, many Apple users (myself included) would've kept using these speakers on newer Macs.
It is not just the diameter of the jack on those speakers that is the issue, it's the actual length of the jack that is the real issue.
The length of the jack is very short and, as usual for Apple at that time, a non-standard length.
That is the real problem. Apple made sure these speakers only worked with Apple computers of the day.
They were designed to be proprietary and you could not use these speakers with anything else, but specific Apple computers.
And why no Apple user who has these speakers have not been able to use these on later Mac models.
They were specifically design to use with the G4 iMac and other G4 models of the time.
These speakers work with my 2003 G4 tower, but can't use with my much newer 2009 iMac.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

How is the TC currently connected into the network?
It should work fine in bridge and create a wireless network.. it should already be able to share the network without being the main router.
Setting up wireless from wireless is difficult.
I would recommend you buy the USB to ethernet cable Apple sell as an accessory for Air and MBPr so you can actually use ethernet when required.

My question is, if I buy a Time Capsule, will I be able to have wi-fi for other devices like an iPad or iPhone even though my computer is not wi-fi? That is not the correct approach.. but you can do what you want.
Plug the TC into the cable modem.. Turn both off and restart the modem and the TC.. if there is a battery backup in the modem you may need to disconnect the coax cable in the back of the unit or drop the battery out.
Plug ethernet from the old mac into the TC.. use the wifi for the other devices.
Trying to route through the mac will be a pain.
A TC is not necessary for this.. if you don't want a backup disk.. you can use AEBS or any wireless router.
