Using c-100 as smarthost

Hey everyone, I have Exchange 2003 sending outbound mail to a Mail Marshal box ATM. I have just implimented 2 C-100's because the MM box just isn't cutting it anymore.
The C-100's are setup and working perfectly with incoming mail, but as soon as I change the smarthost setting on the Exchange box to point to the C100, I get the following for all outgoing mail :
"There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
smtp;550 #5.1.0 Address rejected
Anyone know why?
I assume a relay or DNS setting?
**EDIT** Looked at the logs, seems the outbound mail is being rejected because of the RAT policies - how do I set this right?
I think what is happening is that outbound mail is being redirected back to my Exchange box, and therefore being rejected?

If the RAT is rejecting it then your Exchange server isn't being classified in the RELAYLIST. This could be due to the fact that the Exchange server is going through a device that is NATing the source IP address.
What you need to pay attention is the information in the logs that contain the ICID (Incoming Connection ID). This will show you IP address that the IronPort see's and also the Sender Group that the IP address is falling under. Below is an example output:

If you look at the first two lines you'll see the connecting IP address and the second line has a statement for SG (abbreviation for Sender Group) followed by RELAYLIST. Check these two pieces of information and verify that the IP address isn't changing and also what Sender Group the IP address is falling under.

ITunes uses almost 100% of CPU and slows PC down

Recently I decided to start using my iPod touch 4G again and downloaded the latest version of iTunes.
Upon launch, iTunes acts normally until about 4-5 minutes of being open (just in idle). It then happily proceeds to use up 100% of my CPU load and slows my entire PC down to a halt, even once I've closed it (iTunes).
I've tried re-installing it, downloading a different version, disconnecting from the internet, practically everything and yet the problem persists.
My PC specs are as follows:
Amd FX Piledriver 8-Core FX-8350 @ 4.0GHz
Powercolour HD7990 Devil 13
G-Skill 1866Mhz 16Gb memory
OCZ Vector 128Gb HDD / WD Caviar Green 3TB
So I can assure you, this is NOT hardware related.
I've tried the following method with no results.
1) Click Start and type "cmd" (without the quotes) DO NOT press enter or Ok yet.
2) Right click "cmd" in the search results at the top of the start menu and select "Run as Administrator".
3) In the command window, type "netsh" and press enter. (Without the quotes)
4) In the next prompt, type "winsock" and press enter. (Without the quotes)
5) In the next prompt, type "reset" and press enter. (Without the quotes)
6) Reboot the PC. (Do not skip this step)
I've also been through the list of conflicting software and have none of the mentioned.
I'm running Windows 7 with the latest updates.
I'm getting extremely frustrated now. ANY help would be appreciated.

Plugin-container.exe is using 90-100% CPU - even while running Firefox in safe-mode. Can I fix this?

I am using fire fox 5.0 (after using 3.6 for what seems like forever) and the plugin-container.exe has been sucking up my CPU power like a vampire. It had been doing that in 3.6 but not as much. I figured if I upgraded the problem would go away, but no, it has not. After reading some other similar posts, I ran Firefox in safe mode with no plugins running and sure enough after browsing for a bit it started running slower and used 90-100% of my CPU. Is there any way to fix this issue? Or am I doomed? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

That's supposed to show you the problem isn't Firefox, don't know how successful that actually is. You can delete it so that it starts up again. Susggest restarting Firefox when you see it has used about an hour of CPU time as the next hour of CPU time will take shorter to get there and you will be locked out.
Also see this -- the solution on all the items seem to fix a lot of problems with the places.sqlite database.

Quicktime desktop recording use almost 100% of cpu!

When the video recording of the desktop is on, my Macbook pro (2.4 GHz, 8 Go ram, mid-2010) become really slow. Quicktime then use near 100% of the CPU. So I can't do the task I whant to record (someting like a tutorial).
Is there a solution for this? I tried Voila app and IT WORK PERFECTLY. So, what's the deal with quicktime?

Turned flash off but it made no difference, Facebook home page still shoots Firefox cpu up to 100%.

Firefox using almost 100% CPU - hogging resources - hanging

After several hours of operating Firefox starts using almost 100% CPU - with peaks of 100% occurring in rapid succession - FF hangs until CPU useage drops below 100%
Followed recommended troubleshooting as recommended on this site:
* Started in Safe mode - no problems occurred.
* Disabled all extensions; Plug-ins left operating.
* No replication of problems.
* Enable 1/2 of extensions up to Flashblock - restarted - seems ok
* Enable most remaining extensions
* (There are 3 Java extesnions - only enabling one) - again seems ok
* Some hours later - problem reoccurred. Each time CPU useage peaked at 100% (according to Task Manager) the Firefox Window flickered & was unresponsive.
* Deleted cache - no change
* Disabled recently added programs - no change
FF opens and closes normally & completely. '''Problem only seems to occur after FF has been operating for some time'''
This has occurred intermittantly before but has become chronic over the last few days. Apologies if I've been repetitive or explained poorly - FF has hung several times while typing this.

No issue for me, after 4 loops my CPU load was around 18%.

I hear many people having heat issues with the 2011 MacBook pro. All have mentioned some process using 100% of CPU. I wonder if anyone has heat problems even though the CPU is not being used at 100%. This would shed some light as to whether the problem is related to software or hardware.

OK to use fdisk/100% "SOLARIS System" partition for RAID6 Virtual Drive?

Solaris newb, here - I am configuring an x4270 with 16 135 GB drives. Basic approach is
D0, D1: RAID 1 (Boot volume, Solaris, Oracle Software)
D2-D13: RAID 6 (Oracle dB files)
D14, D15: global spares
After configuring the RAID's w/WebBIOS Utility, I am now trying to format/partition the RAID 6 Virtual Drive, which shows up as 1.327 TB 'Optimal' in the MegaRAID Storage Manager. My question: is there anything inherently wrong with this default partitioning? Database is for OLTP & fairly small (<200 GB), with about 140 GB being LOB images.

First off, RAID-5 or RAID-6 is fine for database performance unless you have some REALLY strict and REALLY astronomical performance requirements. Requirements that someone with lots of money is willing to pay to meet.
You're running a single small x86 box with only onboard storage.
So no, you're not operating in that type of environment.
Here's what I'd do, based upon a whole lot of experience with Solaris 10 and not so much with Solaris 11, and also assuming this box is going to be around for a good long time as an Oracle DB server:
1. Don't use SVM for your boot drives. Use the onboard RAID controller to make TWO 2-disk RAID-1 mirrors. Use these for TWO ZFS root pools. Why two? Because if you use live upgrade to patch the OS, you want to create a new boot environment in a separate ZFS pool. If you use live upgrade to create new boot environments in the same ZFS pool, you wind up with a ZFS clone/snapshot hell. If you use two separate root pools, each new boot environment is a pool-to-pool actual copy that gets patched, so there are no ZFS snapshot/clone dependencies between the boot environments. Those snapshot/clone dependencies can cause a lot of problems with full disk drives if you wind up with a string of boot environments, and at best they can be a complete pain in the buttocks to clean up - assuming live upgrade doesn't mess up the clones/snapshots so badly you CAN'T clean them up (yeah, it has been known to do just that...). You do your first install with a ZFS rpool, then create rpool2 on the other mirror. Each time you do an lucreate to create a new boot environment from the current boot environment, create the new boot environment in the rpool that ISN'T the one the current boot environment is located in. That makes for ZERO ZFS dependencies between boot environments (at least in Solaris 10. Although with separate rpools, I don't see how that could change....), and there's no software written that can screw up a dependency that doesn't exist.
2. Create a third RAID-1 mirror either with the onboard RAID controller or ZFS, Use those two drives for home directories. You do NOT want home directories located on an rpool within a live upgrade boot environment. If you put home directories inside a live upgrade boot environment, 1) that can be a LOT of data that gets copied, 2) if you have to revert back to an old boot environment because the latest OS patches broke something, you'll also revert every user's home directory back.
3. That leaves you 10 drives for a RAID-6 array for DB data. 8 data and two parity. Perfect. I'd use the onboard RAID controller if it supports RAID-6, otherwise I'd use ZFS and not bother with SVM.
This also assumes you'd be pretty prompt in replacing any failed disks as there are no global spares. If there would be significant time before you'd even know you had a failed disk (days or weeks), let alone getting them replaced, I'd rethink that. In that case, if there were space I'd probably put home directories in the 10-disk RAID-6 drive, using ZFS to limit how big that ZFS file system could get. Then use the two drives freed up for spares.
But if you're prompt in recognizing failed drives and getting them replaced, you probably don't need to do that. Although you might want to just for peace of mind if you do have the space in the RAID-6 pool.
And yes, using four total disks for two OS root ZFS pools seems like overkill. But you'll be happy when four years from now you've had no problems doing OS upgrades when necessary, with minimal downtime needed for patching, and with the ability to revert to a previous OS patch level with a simple "luactivate BENAME; init 6" command.
If you have two or more of these machines set up like that in a cluster with Oracle data on shared storage you could then do OS patching and upgrades with zero database downtime. Use lucreate to make new boot envs on each cluster member, update each new boot env, then do rolling "luactivate BENAME; init 6" reboots on each server, moving on to the next server after the previous one is back and fully operational after its reboot to a new boot environment.

Premiere cc & media encoder update and it doesn't use anymore 100% of cpu,why?

but yesterday i update premiere to version 7.2.2 and adobe media encoder and others , in short i updated everything
well i started to render a video and i noticed that adobe media encoder (during the rendering) did not use all my cpu
in the prev , i used the 90% of my cpu
my cpu it's the last intel 4 core (8 vitual) 4Ghz
but the new verstion uses not more then 50% , don't know how much gpu does it use , can't find a program to monitor under w8.1 pro 64bit
what's wrong?
is there a way (option) to let media encoder to use all my 100% cpu?
is there a way to check how much gpu does it use?

It doesn't appear to be the problem though. The encode I have running at the moment has been going for the last 13 hours and in the last two hasn't once got any further along!
Current elapsed time for a 30 minute film going to MPG2 is 13 hours and 18 minutes! Seems a touch excessive for just muxing!
Any other ideas? Would be really grateful for any advice as Adobe Media Encoder is becoming very unreliable and I have tonnes of encoding to do!

Itunes will not open, and uses 98-100% of memory

When I try to run itunes, my computer locks up, and when viewing that with control/alt/delete I notice it uses from anywhere about 100 to 98 percent of my free memory.
I unistalled itunes, deleted everything, restarted computer, and all those precautions then attempted to try agian.
Now iTunes starts, except that agreement popup comes, the one that you must agree to if you wish to use itunes. However, it comes up for about one second, literally, and then disappears.
I disabled my popup blocker, anti-virus, mozilla, EVERYTHING. And it still does not work...
Does anyone know what to do? I really wish to use my itunes tonight, I've been waiting for some time now, and it still isnt working...

The same thing is happening to me. The music is slowed, skipping, distorted, popping, and annoying. I did the changes to quicktime the other forums suggested and still no progress. I check out my task manager to see that my CPU usage jumps from 4% to 35% to 85% to 100% to 85% to 100% and just stays up there unless i turn off the song or iTunes itself.
This hasnt happened before and when i installed the upgrade... it was then it started to do this. it might be QT 7? i want it fixed, please.

ITunes Using Up 100% of CPU

For some reason iTunes was using 100% of my CPU, for some reason I thought the iTunes library may have been corrupt, making iTuunes use 100% of my CPU when I started it. So I deleted my .itl file and imported all of my music again, so now all my songs are in iTunes and it seemed to work. Then, as part of my settings, I turned on the souncd check, now iTunes uses 100% of my CPU and doesn't respond when I open it, how can I fix this?

Firefox giving me the huge prob specially plug-in container use the 100% CPU and disconnected my internet, many time in a hour. meanwhile IE works fine no disconnection no high CPU usage. I m using 2 plug-ins grease monkey and fire bug

when i m use the FF after 20-30 minutes every site who i want to open after giving the URL in address bar and hit enter

after closing FF other browsers IE, opera work fine and smoothly

FSEVENTSD using 90-100% CPU after updating to 10.6.4

My iMac, previously running fine, is now running very slow. After reading some things here and elsewhere, I tried shutting down Spotlight indexing using Terminal (don't recall exactly what I did). That did kill Spotlight but I am still having the problem. I also reinstalled Snow Leopard from my original retail disc and then did the combo update. Still no good. I bring up Activity Monitor and FSEVENTSD is constantly running at 90-100%. This has persisted for a few days now. FYI, I do have both Firewire and USB 2 drives connected. I did seem to notice that the problem may have started when I reconnected the Firewire drive after doing the reinstall. It may have been a coincidence though.
Please help. This is killing my productivity since even my mouse is running slow.
