Using canon ImageBrowser

I used Canon Imagebrowser to transfer pictures from my camera and now have no idea where they have been saved, please help! (I've already downloaded the newest version of imagebrowser also)
Thanks!

Welcome to Apple Discussions
Use Spotlight and do a date search, Canon Images are stored in folders named for the date taken/downloaded to the Mac. I'd be pretty sure there will be a Canon folder inside /Pictures with the sub-folders inside that.

  • Can't use Canon iR C4580i to print after upgrading to Mavericks

Can anyone help to solve the problem?
I have tried to download the driver version 10.2.0 but still cannot use canon iR C4580i to print.
    Thanks

    Hey WKWF,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The following article provides relevant troubleshooting information for your issue:
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3147
USB printers and Bonjour-enabled network printers
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
    1. Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
    2. Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
    3. Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
    4. Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
    5. Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
    1. Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
    2. If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
    3. Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

How to use Canon Selphy Photo Printer (CP900) to print from iPad 3?  I would like to print the photos in my ipad on my Canon Selphy Photo Printer (CP900) which has wifi...

    hi
ideally if you want to print from the ipad you should have an airprint enabled printer:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
however, there are workarounds, you can download a decent third party app to print such as print n share, printcentral or printdirect

There are hints of an image in what you posted. It just appears to be massively underexposed. So I'll stick with my previous guess. The fact that you're using single shooting mode is irrelevant. You can push the button fast enough to overheat the flash if it's firing at full power. And it probably is, since no other light source appears to be active.

  • Canon Raw File Transfer using Canon 7D / Lion / Aperture 3.2

Is anyone finding issues in unloading raw files with a Canon camera and the latest software?  I have been doing this successfully for some time using Aperture 3.1 with Snow Leopard.  I use a 13" MBP with 8GB of memory and a huge hard drive.  I upgraded to Lion and Aperture 3.2 and find that my Canon 7D doesn't transfer all of my pictures off of the camera.  The camera is connected via the USB cable that plugs directly into the camera.  I have found a workaround by re-importing off the camera and selecting the option to not download previously imported pictures.  Depending on the number of photos, I may have to do it up to 10 times to get all the pictures.  I have the latest Canon 7D firmware.  I'm able to successfully do this using Canon Utilities running on Lion.  Ironically, this same issue happens when I import into Aperture from the camera or from the hard drive.  After importing onto my hard drive using Canon software and getting all the pictures in one try, I then tried to import from the hard drive into Aperture but faced the same issue.  I think I have this isolated to an Aperture 3.2 issue with Lion and Canon 7D raw images.  I also thought that it might be due to lack of battery life on the camera or with large photo shoots.  Nope.  It happens as well with a small number of photos and a healthy battery.
Is anyone else running into this issue?  Thanks.

The Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.9:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1473
supports Powershot S100, try to download and install this update.

Looks like it's either a Canon bug or filesystem corruption to me. If getdirentries was genuinely broken a lot more people would be complaining about it.

  • Do I need to convert RAW fles using Canon's Digital Photo Professional?

I want to create a "fake" HDR photo from a single RAW file using Photomatix Pro, which can open RAW files from my Canon S95 directly. But the finished HDR is almost unusable because of too much noise. So the only way out seems to first convert RAW images into Tiff format. Unfortunately, Canon's Digital Photo Professional for Mac produced errors whenever I want to batch process raw images.
Actually the Aperture 3 can read Canon's RAW images (.cr2) directly, and I can export 3 TIFF versions of different EVs to "cheat" the Photomatix into creating an HDR image. But I have doubts about how capable Aperture 3 is in converting Canon's proprietary RAW files as compare to Canon's own Digital Photo Professional. Could I simply use Aperture 3 exclusively for RAW conversion and forget about Digital Photo Professional?

While Wikipedia is a valuable resource, remember that it is not peer reviewed so the level of accuracy isn't always that dependable.
One of the reasons why Apple, Adobe, and others are always behind by several weeks to a few months when a new RAW profile comes out is that they are decoding it. Thousands upon thousands of people use Canon & Nikon RAW files every day and the large majority never use DPP or Nikon's equivalent.
I used to use DPP before Aperture came out and even with Aperture's initial problems, it blew the doors off DPP in workflow speed and consistency.
In my opinion, DPP only has relevance under two circumstances: 1. If you use customized Picture Styles and want to make your RAW file equivalent [somewhat irrelevant as you can create custom profiles for a camera in both Aperture & Lightroom which solve this problem - you do have to create them though by trial and error]; 2. If a new camera comes out and you must get it before it is supported by Aperture or Lightroom [Though, Adobe's DNG converter often allows you to skip over using DPP by converting your RAW files to DNG for use in Aperture or Lightroom]
Finally, the community support as well as tech support for DPP is dreadful - pretty much doesn't exist compared to that of Aperture & Lightroom.
    Hope this helps!

  • Using canon easy print.

I am using Canon Easy Print to write on my photos, I can only access my Documents that were transfered from my PC to my imac, is there a way that I can access my iPhoto , with easy print I can put writing anywhere on my photos, seems iPhoto is very limited.

The reason why you have no access to iPhoto through Canon Easy Print is that you can see a library NOT a real folder containing image files; in order to use Canon gorgeous app temporary place into the IMAGE folder the shoots you desire to print, simple. I do every time with great results. As an alternative to this procedure you can directly print with iPhoto. Depends on you.

  • Can't find photos using Canon Easy-Photoprint EX

I bought a canon printer with my laptop and when using Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX I can't find my pictures from iPhoto in the menu. I can put a photo on my desktop and find and print it but am having trouble locating my photos already uploaded into iPhoto. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
If the application does not interface with iPhoto then you're options are as follows:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Print on dvd using Canon mx922

I am trying to print on dvd using Canon mx922.  Canon software (image garden and photprint ex) do not recognize printer using iMac running 10.7 and macbook air running 10.8.  Canon has no solution and referred me to Apple.  Anyone have a workaround? Any other software to try?
    Thanks.

When you select to add the printer and you see the little pop-up window under the plus button with a heading of Nearby Printers, don't select the MX. Instead, click on Add Printer or Scanner. Then with the Default Add printer window displayed, you should see the MX. It will show something like Bonjour Multifunction in the Kind column. Don't select this one. Instead wait several more seconds and you should see a second MX appear, this one showing Canon IJ Network in the Kind column. Select this and the Mac will state that it needs to get the supporting driver from Apple. Agree to this and after the driver has downloaded, you will have your alternate driver installed and ready to use.

  • Simply want to run Canon Imagebrowser

Not sure where to post this. Canon software is a huge part of my workflow. Mac OS Lion elimitated it and left no option other than trashing all software and moving to a PC.
Any options for running Canon Imagebrowser under OS Lion?
Thus far, searchin has revealed nothing other than previous (erronious) searches.

Unfortunately, Canon are the one's who seem to be lagging behind badly in their program development, particularly for Mac OSX. Their developers have had 6 years to get their software up to date and drop the PPC coding for Intel. Hopefully they may update not to far into the future.

  • There no lenses listed in the profile selection area. How do I fix this I use canon gear that should

There no lenses listed in the profile selection area. How do I fix this I use canon gear that should be there. Help!

There are different profiles for camera Raw, and for camera JPG - and LR filters the lenses list, to show only the profiles available for the particular image you have highlighted.
If you have selected a JPG image, you will usually see a much shorter or even an empty list of lenses - as compared with what you see if you select a Raw image. Most lens profiles with interchangeable-lens systems, are designed to correct Raw images. On the other hand, if you select an image taken with (say) a compact digital camera or supported cameraphone, any support for that will usually be in JPG.
You can get a free Lens downloader utility from the Adobe Labs website, which gives access to the full library of lens profiles that the general Adobe user community has uploaded. Each one listed, says whether it is for Raw or not. Some of these will have been generated by end users (using another free utility) and are of variable quality. But you may get lucky, and find just what you need. Or, if it is a rarer lens or if you have particular requirements, it is not so hard to make your own profile using the Adobe utility.
You do not need to use a profile made specifically for your camera model. The only limitation is: a crop-sensor-generated profile, will not include the right optical coverage for a fullframe camera model.
Another option is to "kludge" a copy of an existing Raw-only profile, so that it supports JPG instead. This just requires a text editor - you change a line within a structured-text file, from Camera Raw="True", to "False". Then you save that into the Lens Profile folder in the Adobe / CameraRaw area inside your user login's "application data" area.

I just got a used Canon ZR850 and I'm having trouble downloading my video onto my Windows 7 computer. I have a FireWire that works fine with my ZR830 but not with the 850.  The connection isn't registering.  What can I do?

Without proper system information and other details nobody can help you. and this error means what it says - some other install process is still active, even if it may not do so visible. Could be a silent update of a virus scanner or something, could be a botched install of another program, not even specifically Adobe. As a start, always reboot your computer and then try again. For anything else we need much more info.

  • Using Canon MF 4320 printer installed on Windows computer

    Hi guys.
Is there any chance to use Canon MF 4320 printer installed on Windows computer? I am getting a Canon UFR II Printer Driver Error: -50.
    Thanks for your help

I found it useful to install the software form the CD provided with the printer rather than downloading the drivers.  The download options were confusing with different drivers for different functions and the scanner did not work from the System Preferences > Print & Scan menu until I installed the software from the CD.
You should then download the current Canon driver for your printer, if it is supported on Mac OS X.
If all else fails contact Canon.
    http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/Telephone_Numbers/telephone_num bers.aspx
You can also email them at
    Canon Care Center <[email protected]>
asking where to find the driver and if your printer is compatible with Mac OS X (and which versions of same).
I did not find an MF4320 listed on the Canon support site.
    http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer
or support for Mac OS X for any MF printer
    http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/mac-osx
So it may not be supported but it is worth an email to Canon to find out.
