Using ChaRm with 2 Development (source) systems

Before I get into the full description of an issue we are facing. I would like to know if anyone out there is using ChaRM and has 2 development systems defined.

This is the problem I am having
We have 2 landscapes each with a development and quality system. Also there is a single volume test system. Both landscapes point to a single production system. So it would look like this
DW3           DW4
QW1           QW2
           VW1
            PW1
The DW3 landscape is defined as the production landscape (normal releases) and the DW4 landscape is defined as the emergency landscape. The emergency landscape is synchronized with the production landscape during a normal release.
The migration path for a normal release would be DW3, QW1, VW4, (now synchronizing) DW4, QW2, PW1.
The migration path for an emergency fix would be DW4, QW2, VW4 (if performance testing is required), PW1.
All these systems are defined in the ChaRM landscape
When a task list is generated, you are asked which development system, DW3 or DW4. When the task list is generated, it starts at DW4, QW2, PW1, DW3, QW1, PW1 (We have not defined a volume VW4 system in or test landscape).
As well when a creating a transport, and DW3 is selected, ChaRm generates an error stating the task list is out of sequence,
You will notice that the task list goes to PW1 twice. Is there a way to generate the task list in the correct order. DW3, QW1, DW4, QW2 and PW1.

Delta Loads failling after system copy with error in source system(RSM340)

We recently performed system copy in BI side.I am facing same issue in couple of chains.Process chains are failing at delta loads with error in source system(ERROR IN SOURCE SYSTEM-message no-RSM340 ).When I go for repeat option ,delta loads are running fine.I did some research regarding RSM340 and I found note:1576331.
But my system is not showing any 'Time Inconsistencies'.So.I was not able to find any clue about it.
Could anybody help me out in this aspect.

Hi,
Check whether the profiles that ran in background have the following authorizations.
The RFC user on BW, receiving data from OLTP system, should have S_BI-WHM_RFC and S_RS_ALL in the user profile.
The RFC user on OLTP, receiving request from BW system, should have S_BI-WX_RFC, S_IDOC_ALL, and, B_ALE_ALL in the user profile.

Define multi development source systems

Good Day;
I am trying to figure out how to define more that one source system in Solman (ChaRM). Let me explain
Regular Corrections, all development is done in DW3 Client 100. (Production Stream)
Urgent Corrections, all development is done in DW4 Client 100 . (Emergency Stream)
Training Corrections, all development is done in DW3 Client 400 (Training Stream)

I have done this approach mentioned by Jason more than once. You create as many logical components as you need, each one having the different dev system and the QAS and Prod system (and also other system roles if needed, like verification or post-processing systems ).
How is your landscape? Do you have only one Test client and one Productive client or many? That influences how to create the system/client routes.
You have also to define if you want to have different maintenance projects or keep all logical components in the same. In my cases I had different maintenance projects. If the Production Ibase for all is the same, the system will ask you to choose which maintenance cycle to use.

When trying to create a Logical Port on CO_RSDSPX_ODP_IN from SOA Manager with a WSDL Based configuration (downloaded from a Webservice of our ByD), this error is thrown:

Did you create consumer proxy for the service you like to consume ?
It looks like your WSDL and Consumer proxy are not the same ?
Or you could create Logical Port Manually, but it will fail on provider side because the message you are sending and the provider of the service are not the same.
Manual Configuration
The system uses a user-specified binding URL to create a logical port. You need to specify a unique name for the logical port.

I have a Mac Pro using Lion, with a SSD for system. Restored drive from backup. Now logon password doesn't work. Account password still works. Changing password in user group preferences no longer works to change logon password.

I have a Mac Pro using Lion, with SSD for system drive. Drive stopped booting, but otherwise appeared healthy. Restored from system backup. Now drive seems to work properly, BUT my logon password no longer works. Password OK for account; can access system preferences, and change user password there BUT logon still refuses to accept password. No luck changing password for that account after adding new administrator account and logging on from that account. Suggestions? Thanks.

If you redirect Accounts to another location (not on the Boot Drive) you need to direct them back there again after a restore.
SystemPreferences > Accounts/User&Groups > ...
... Unlock the lock, then hold down Control as you click on an Account to get access to the Advanced Options pane.

Datasources . problem with the new Source System

Hi friends!
The ECC client were copy and now I have a new source system for this.
If I select source system / verify, the msg is: ok
In can read some data from the new ECC (ie: exchange rates updated), but I can not read any records using the datasources.
The replication in Bi were done, and the data in source system is ok.
-> What is wrong?

the problem is a security-problem that the user SAPServiceSID isn't in the group DB2ADMNS.
After Restart Service and SAP the db2-connect runs fine

Using SCM with 10g developer suite

i am using Oracle SCM utilities with 10g developer suite. can any body tell me that is there any way-out, or mechansim exists so that i can add existing coded objects in the database (e.g. procedures, functions, or table definitions) into the repository, and can check-out those objects...make the changes in them, and then check-in back, and SCM repository automatically maintains the history for those database objects (procedures, functions). i don't want to use any designer tool for this purpose. i want to make changes at the code level and want that version history be automatically maintained. tell me that whether oracle SCM can do this or it works only with the definitions created through oracle designer. Or any other alternative solution will also be highly appreciated.

Does anybody use ChaRM with their BW system?

We are looking to implement Charm for our BW system and I am looking for somebody that has experience with this. For example if you extract a new field from your ECC system and transport it via Charm, does the system recognize that this transport needs to finish generating the data in BW before it moves the next transport in line? Or do you have to manually import these transports into BW?

We already have Charm for ECC, CRM, SCM, Portal and the setup is not really a problem. The issue I have around BW is really a different one. Today, without Charm, we have the issue that the transports are not going in in the sequence that they are released (the BW manager gives us the sequence he wants them to be moved) and that in between transports we have to wait until the generation of data in BW is done, before the next transport can move. This takes a lot of time and as this needs to be done in off hours it keeps a person busy on the weekend, which ideally I want to avoid going forward as we are not staffed for that.
So my question is if we are doing something wrong in general around the transports we do for BW (so that we have to wait and change transport sequences and do stuff manually) and if Charm is only going to make it worse....
Looking for tips and tricks on how we can get this to go automated... . How can we get this to improve?
Can you give me a few details on how your transports are going through for BW and if you encounter any of the above problems or how you might have resolved them?

Using Dimensions with SQL Developer 3.1

After much effort I have been able to install the Dimensions plug-in to SQL Developer. I had to take a round about way due to proxy issues and manually installed it. Manually copied the zip file and extracted under jdev/extensions. But now I am having problems with understanding the navigation of using the Dimensions plug-in. I tried to read the help from the menu but it seems to be geared towards JDeveloper and I could not get much out of it.
I was assuming that the menu items under Versioning would be enabled once I am connected to Dimensions. For e.g. I was expecting the Check Out and Check In items to be enabled in the menu. But they are greyed out. I am definitely connected to our dimensions application because I am able to see the repository and its contents in Versioning Navigator.
I am wondering if it is a problem with the way I installed the dimensions plug-in OR just some navigation understanding that I am missing? Any help appreciated.

Can you search the forum for similar issues? Sqldeveloper used to ship with conflicting batik JARs whch caused models not to print (lthough IIRC the option was not grayed out, it simply wouldn't work)

To use ADF with other Development tool

Can I plug the the ADF framework into other development tools such as the IBM's[b] websphere studio and Borland's JBuilder?
(Currently neither the WebSphere Studio nor the JBuilder, to the best of my knowledge, has the capability of the ADF has. Basically, with those tools you have to write a lot of codes to do the database updates, etc.)

ADF is a bunch of Jar files and the application is a bunch of Java and XML files - so yes you can take this and use any IDE to edit the files.
But currently JDeveloper is the only tool that has the visual development environment for ADF.

it should possible, the delta is maintained separately for different bw system, as we can see there is 'bw system' in RSA7. make sure your new bw system has different logical system name from the existing one.

Using MBAM with Non-TPM Enabled Systems

We have locations within our organization where systems enabled with TPM chips are not allowed. For these systems we are looking at using the USB flash drive option for booting the system and unlocking the encrypted drive. We do
have other locations within our organization where TPM enabled systems are allowed. For these systems we are using the TPM chip and storing the recovery key information in MBAM. My question is, can the recovery keys for those systems that are non-TPM
enabled be stored in MBAM so the drives can be recovered if the USB flash drive is lost?

USB Key only is not listed as a supported authentication method for MBAM. On devices without a TPM, the password protector is recommended. See
Planning for MBAM 2.0 Group Policy Requirements.
MBAM supports the following types of BitLocker protectors for operating system drives: Trusted Platform Module (TPM), TPM + PIN, TPM + USB key, and TPM + PIN + USB key, password, numerical password, and Data Recovery Agent. The password protector is supported
only for Windows To Go devices and for Windows 8 devices that do not have a TPM. MBAM supports the TPM + USB key and the TPM + PIN + USB key protectors only when the operating system volume is encrypted before MBAM is installed.

Question about using iPod with a Mobile Mulitmedia system

I bought my wife a 16g 4th genration iPod Nano to use with her Valor Mobile Multimedia system in her car. When she plugs the iPod in the system via the iPod cable, all it says is "connecting". It seems to recognize the iPod but doesn't fully connect with it to play the music. I've tried my daughter's older generation Nano and it works fine as does my 60g video iPod.
I've tried to contact Valor but their website isn't very intuitive. I've left a message with their tech support as well as emailed them, No repsonses yet.
I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks all.

The tv connects to your tv via HDMI or component.
The tv plays video either from it's hard drive which it gets by syncing it from the contents of your itunes library on your PC or by streaming it directly (as it plays it) from the itunes library on your PC.
Data from itunes can be sent to the tv either by ethernet or wifi.
