Using Cleaner tool to remove Reader

I run CS6 Web Premium.
Installed Adobe reader 11
Can no longer use Adobe pro or Distiller. (after a previous post on this where an "MVP" told me to run the cleaner after removing Reader.)
In spite of this being an ADOBE INSTIGATED BUG
I cannot get support - for a product that is obviously "not fit for purpose".
I am sup[posed to PAY for a support contract so that I can tell Adobe they have a problem???
How much greedier can Adobe get???
How can you spend all this money on a product (have been using since CS3 and all the pathetic upgrades that do little but earn Adobe money). - then get shafted with endless issues that you cannot get support for?
Even Expression Web is better than this...

sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!) http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html and follow the prescribed sequence of operations. Sometimes the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
So far, so good –I also often gave this advice. This approach only allows to look at the symptoms of this malfunction. Therefore I started a thread “What's up with "Downloading, Installing, Setting Up"?” I asked for a improvement of the product, so it is not necessary to use Cleaner Tool. Preran a member of Adobe’s staff promised "many improvements". Here is the link: https://forums.adobe.com/message/6408998
In order to accelerate the process I therefore call upon you to support my efforts. Most successful could be to click a „like“ in Prerans answer (see consecutive number 11)

    I have CS6 and CC on my Win 7 pro machine. I have uninstalled CS5.1  . Iam trying to use CC Cleaner tool to remove the remains of CS5.1 and need to be certain that it will not remove the other versions.
    When I get to the screen giving a list of options to clean up, CS5-5.5 is listed as number 6. So I typed in 6, and pressed Enter. Then the next screen says 'List of products installed on this machine' and there is only one  1. Clean All. I am concerned that this might remove my other versions as well as CS5.     Thank you again for your 10.24 post.  I tried your suggestions today.  The university computer lab i use has Adobe Acrobat Pro 6.  The OCR function is under the dropdown menu "Documents>>Paper Capture".  This permits conversion a scanned page to searchable text.  Before beginning it asks you to select 1 of 2 Settings defined as:  "Primary OCR Language English", or "PDF Output Style:  Searchable Image (Exact)".  That is the only choice to be made before conversion begins.  After the conversion you can review and correct suspect words on captured pages.  I tried both choices and regardless of which ended up with a document that was searchable, but still would not permit highlighting (I selected text with the highlight tool, clicked and dragged over a captured page, and nothing happened, same result as my earlier post).  If I search for a particular word, all occurrences become shade-highlighted but if I expressly attempt to highlight a word with the highlighter it won't do it. 
    Do you have any suggestions as to how I might further massage the data?

    My creative cloud app would not launch.   I removed it with Windows uninstall, downloaded and re-installed.   Again, it would not launch.   Removed again using Adobe clean tool, appeared to have two copies on machine.  re-installed, still have same problem.

    uninstall all cc desktop apps.
    again run the cleaner, Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

  • Am I using Cleaner Tool right?

    I am trying to use the cleaner tool to clean up install and reinstall of InDesign CS4.  I uninstalled the CS4 suite entirely as Adobe Support instructed me to do, without deactivating the license because I'm reinstalling this on the same computer, not a different one.  Then I downloaded the Cloud Cleaner Tool for Mac, selected English, accepted the agreement.  I double clicked the cleaner tool and the screen comes up and asks me which product I want to clean.  I click CS4. Click . . . then this box comes up and is says, "the following installations were found on your system."  The box is blank so nothing was found.  I would imagine since I just uninstalled everything that would be logical.  At the bottom of the screen it says, "There is no session to delete."  And two of the three boxes are grayed out:  "Clean all CS3/CS4" and "Cleanup Selected"  so I can't click on either of them.  The only box that isn't grayed out is "Quit."
    So I wait and wait and nothing happens.  I don't think this thing is cleaning up anything, cuz I must have done something wrong.  No message comes up to indicate "the cloud cleaner tool completed successfully" as the instructions say it will.  I've redone this 3 times with all the same results.  Nothing happens.  Can someone help?  I've been on the phone and with Adobe Support since Monday and I'm no closer to getting my CS4 InDesign back to normal on my Mac than before.  HELP!  THANKS SO MUCH!

    I've been fortunate enough not to have to run the tool myself, but I believe if you get those results you are done and can move on to reinstall.

    hi im using the app.execMenuItem("Annots:Tool:InkMenuItem"); in the javascript of textbox in acrobat pro 9. When i click the text box pen tool is activated and im able to sign in that textbox.

  • Application Manager "download error" even after using Cleaner Tool

    I have Creative Cloud working on my primary computer and am trying to get it going on my laptop, a MacBook Pro on which I just installed Mountain Lion OSx.
    I have not been able to install the Adobe Application Manager to start some software downloads. I get a window that pops up after the installer starts that says "Download Error. Contact Customer Support", then a button below that says "QUIT".
    After reading a few posts about this, I tried the Cleaner Tool and restarted the computer.
    After restart, I get the same problem and am not sure what to do next.
    I am logged into Creative Cloud.
    Any ideas?

    I had edge, photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver and lightroom on my laptop - (this is my 2nd computer - most apps are on my desktop system)
    I uninstalled all of those and deleted Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager folder then I downloaded and reinstalled the application manager then tried to downlad the appd from my Creative Cloud account - it gives me the same error
    before I deleted - I did try downloading Audition as a trial and then sign in on my CC account and it gave me that same error
    march 1 - I tried to download a trial version on Photoshop - it will not download to my applications folder - due to "restrictive access privledges"
    thought it might have to do with security preferences - changed to allow all - and it still will not download...
    also tried to update Adobe Story and it also errored
    so can't load any adobe apps to my laptop -
    have tested on my desktop with same account and it works fine

    I had problems with my account (A12E1) and used the cleaner tool. Now i can update my CC desktop, but some of the programs aint on my Mac anymore, but the CC desktop says that these programs are updasted, so i can´t reinstall them. What to do?

    Welcome to the forums!
    Please check Applications>> Utilities>> Adobe Installers and see if the CC apps uninstaller is listed there.
    If yes, please run the uninstaller to uninstall the apps and reinstall them from Adobe CC.

  • Winndows closed CS4. I've used clean tool and then re-installed. still same error mesage on loading cs4

    I get a message saying a problem has caused  CS4 to stop working properly and that windows will close the program to try to find a solution. It doesn't close CS4, I have to myself so I used the clean tool to uninstall CS4 ( I couldn't uninstall it via the control panel, programs section - nothing happened). I then re-installed CS4 and get the same error message. I've had CS4 since about 2008 and also have Nik Google products as plug in 's running from it and Lightroom 5. How can I get CS4 to work again?

    is adobe acrobat xi pro compatible with that tool, since it says only for version 9 and 10. Is my installation a suite or how would I know, cause again, tool is not compatible then. I just dwnlded the first acrobat that I could find that was free, so is the 30 day trial of pro a suite or no?

  • Snapshot tool in Adober reader

    I have copied a few pictures using snapshot tools from adobe reader and pasted in word. I sent the file to a friend using windows but he cant see the pictures. Apparently the pictures are not pasting as jpeg. Can someone help me rectifying this. I need to send him the pictures for a class project.

    I've never worked with adobe reader so I don't know what exact format you pasted, and if the following might work or not. Try copy the image, then open preview, go to File > New from clipboard. If this works, then you can save it as any format preview supports (e.g. jpg). If that menu is grey-ed out, then preview doesn't recognize it... Maybe you can try use cmd-shift-4 to grab a screenshot instead.

    The cleaner remover Photoshop and cleans up thing the might have  been causing installation or updates problems so you have a clean slate.  Now you install Photoshop it should install correctly and update now.

    The cleaner tool doesn't touch presets, templates or other user data. All it does is flush the installer database to remove blockages. The last time it actualyl deleted any files and folders was with CS3. so whatever you did, you may have hit the wrong button. And while I underrstand your frustration, the download pages states that you are advised to backup your data, regardless...

    Download and install PS CS6  Just run it as a Trial, then exit PS    Download CS6 products
    Then uninstall it.
