Using Comments

Greetings... is it possible to place comments( production notes etc)
in LE8 ? I would like to place text regarding, production notes, external midi synth information , such as patch names, programs and " to do's" within LE sequences.

The dedicated Project Notes and Track Notes feature exists in Logic 9... However, you can use Marker Text to input text for your project... or this plugin will help:

  • Using comments feature in Pages 5.2

I'M IN A CRITIQUE WRITING GROUP AND WE NEED TO MAKE COMMENTS ON EACH OTHER'S WORK. WITH PAGES 09, I COULD USE COMMENTS EFFECTIVELY...THEY WOULD SHOW IN THE MARGINS OF THE PIECE I WAS GIVING FEEDBACK FOR AND THE COMMENTS WOULD PRINT UP. NOW WITH THE MARVELOUS NEW PAGES VERSION 5.2(1860) COMMENTS FEATURE DISAPPEARS WITH EACH COMMENT AND I CANNOT PRINT OR EMAIL THE DOCUMENT TO THE WRITER - NOR CAN THEY EMAIL THEIR COMMENTS TO ME. MY WRITING PARTNERS USE WINDOWS DOC AND DOCX WHICH I EXPORT TO WORD TO WORK ON. HELP!

Forget about Pages v5.2 for now. Comments are broke. If you had Pages ’09 previously installed prior to the Pages v5 update, the installation process moved the older Pages into /Application/iWork '09.
Another awareness issue is that the Pages v5 document format is completely unique to this version. It will not open Pages ’09 documents without filtering the features and functionality that are not presently implemented in Pages v5. Exporting documents, both Word and Pages ’09, have created issues for others.

  • How to use comments in tcode v/ld ? We are using price condition PR00.

    HI All,
How to use comments in tcode v/ld ? if we use text internal comments( Ex: ABCD) in VK12 for Condition PR00.
Tcode V/LD pricing report as 16 and we need that text comments(EX:ABCD) in V/LD report.
    Suggest me on this.
    Thanks

    Naveen,
I created an SDN post about this within the past couple of months, unfortunately you would have to customize the reports as there is no standard functionality to display text comments within this report.

I have pdf file with 500 pages created from AutoCad file. In all pages, I have different document numbers. The file is not editable in pdf. How to change all the document numbers using "Comment" feature? Any alternate method?  alternate method? I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro and Windows -7 platform.

Yes, I just want to cover up all the pages for those particular area of document numbers.
Nothing sensitive about it. I just want to show the correct document numbers on all pages in print out.
So, I wanted to cover up by comments, but commenting on each page will be difficult. So, I wanted to comment the same on all pages.

  • Using comments toolbar

I cannot underline or highlight my pdf's. I have Windows 7 and Acrobat 9 Pro free trial.

I am having a similar problem.  The users of Reader who receive my pdf documents cannot use the comment and markup tools.  I have Acrobat Standard 9.1.2 installed in Windows.  There are various versions of Reader installed through the company, but none earlier than version 7.   The autogenerated text that prints with the emails generated reads as follows:
You are invited to review the document: Intake Fax.pdf. You can use Adobe Acrobat 6 or later to review this document.
Click the attachment to open it in Acrobat, and make your comments using Comment & Markup tools. When you are finished, click "Send Comments" to return your comments to the author.
I had read that creating the document in Word could be the source of the problem, but I have tried creating the document from Notepad and had the same issues.  I currently have a pdf created in Acrobat out to a collegue but I don't have the response from him yet.
I also read something about the pdf being saved in one of the ISO formats that prohibits the file from being changed in any way.  This doesn't appear to be the case either since my settings state that pdf's created are "regular".
I don't have a clue why this is not working and I would think that Adobe would be on top of this since the ability to share and review documents was one of the primary selling features.  I'm sure I am not the only one who thinks this way.

  • Using comment tools in adobe form fields

Is there any way to enable commenting tools so they work within pdf form fields?  I have created a pdf form, and as part of the review process (once the form is completed), other users need to be able to use commenting features on the text entered into the form fields (i.e. highlighting, strikethrough, etc.).  I haven't found any way to do this within the fields themselves.

Acrobat can flatten all form fields / comments via Preflight (which lives in the Print Production tool pane) - select "single fixups" - the wrench icon - then type "flatten" in the search box to find the "Flatten all form fields" fixup, and run it.
You can also flatten everything via the JS console. Press Ctrl-J to open the console, clear it with the trash icon, enter the command this.flattenPages() and press ENTER.
If you want more control over what is flattened, we have a free add-on for Acrobat here.
Note that you cannot flatten a Reader-extended document, so you must first use the File > Save a Copy menu item to de-extend your form.
Once flattened it's no longer a form, so the field values become part of the page (and can receive annotation markup). However to allow markup in Reader, you will have to re-extend the PDF usage rights.

  • I don't want to use comments in Pages: can't I turn it off?

Sorry, but I still think Pages is incredibly lame compared to Word. One of the reasons I prefer Word is that I can choose whether or not to use comments. Now, my own changes to my own document will be seen by another person, which is just stupid -- not to mention hard to read. Coul

    Hi David,
Do you mean comments or track changes?
Have a look at these options:
Menu > Edit > Track changes
    Menu > Insert > Comment
Menu View > Show Comments Pane
Menu View > Comments and Changes > Show or Hide Comments/Changes
Menu > Edit > Turn Off Tracking (and you will be asked to accept or reject all changes)
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • Need easy to use comments form to post to webpage short-term

I'm going to create a 90th birthday tribute webpage with photos etc about a former teacher. We have a past pupils (alumni) website for a now closed school. The average age of the people who visit is 55+ and have to keep it basic. I have created php forms to email for those who want to sign on to our database, label photos on the site etc. That's about all our audience can handle. The guestbook has captcha and it just confuses many users even though there are detailed instructions on how to post with photo guided tut as well!
So I want to put a form under the BD greeting part where they can enter their greeting and hit submit and not bother with captcha. I don't want them to have to register which means they won't be able to edit their comments if there's mistakes.   I'm happy to monitor it daily to weed out any spam, or more likely-- posts with errors or duplicates as it's not going to be around that long.To let people know about the page, we will do a mailing and put the link to the page in the email inviting them to sign the card using the comments form.
The idea is not to make the page public on the site's homepage until a day or two before his birthday which is in about 2 weeks. Then I plan to put an announcement on our homepage as he regularly visits the site and so it will be a surprise. Then he can visit the bd card page himself and see those who have posted their greetings, etc. Also, it will be there for anyone wants to add to the greetings and keep it open for another week. After that I will remove the form and tell people that if they want to add to the greeting, they can email us and we will post their greeting.
Someone in our group said perhaps we should just ask for greetings to be sent back to us in the email sending the link and I put them on the site, but it sort of kills the participation factor...we like people to interact with our site. There are a few we know about who will have to have us do it for them because they are not online, but on our telephone list.
Anyone have advice on how to make this really easy to use for the visitors??? Do I need to worry about script hijackers in this short time-frame?  Do I need to use Google webmaster tools to exclude it from the search engine?
Thanks so much.... Lew in Bristol UK

Look at Gentle Source's Comments script (they have front end and back end demos)

Do I need to worry about script hijackers in this short time-frame?
Any form processing script you run on your server needs to be secure.  Otherwise it's an open invitation to HACKERS and other threats that could compromise your server.  On shared hosting environments, many web hosts require you to use their scripts.  You may wish to ask your host which scripts they recommend.

  • Using "comment" as xml tag in XSLT

Comment is apparently reserved word in XSLT.
Is there a way to put in a tag set in the destination xml document using XSL, something like this:
    <comment><FreeFormText>This is a test</FreeFormText></comment>.
When I try to do this
all I get in the destination doc is:
    <comment></comment>
    Any help wowuld be appreciated.
    Jayant

    Wow!!!
The output="html" actually worked on XML Spy!
Removing the XSLT file initial tag didn't work.
I had already resolved this problem using the replace-string method that I found here: http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Cookbook/XSLT/Recipe/65426
But your method is way more elegant and efficient. :o)
I'll test the html method on XI, but I'm almost sure it'll work too.

  • Howto use comments in JSF pages

    Hi all,
I play a little bit with JSF, at the moment. I wonder that I cannot find any information about how to comment out a part of a JSF page, that it is not rendered.
If I use the html comment tags <!-- --> then this part is already rendered if I access the page.
If I want to comment out an invalid part, the execution will fails :(.
So is there a comment tag in JSF, which is not be rendered if a page is access?
    Thank in advance
    Marco

I'm sure you must have found a way by now, but to anyone who also has this problem (like myself :D) you can do the following.. I'm using Facelets as XHTML pages, and I didn't find a way of allow the JSP style comments:
<%--    --%>But if you add the below to your web.xml, you can allow Facelets to skip HTML comments:
    <context-param>
        <param-name>facelets.SKIP_COMMENTS</param-name>
        <param-value>true</param-value>
</context-param>So with the above in your web.xml, the below:
    First line: #{person.id}
<!-- Second Line: #{person.id} -->would generate, assuming the person bean's id property is 5:
    First line: 5

  • Presentation using or not using comments

I want to do a presentation with the comments showing on my laptop, but the comments not showing on the screen viewed by the audience. What settings will enable me to do this?

Greetings and welcome to the Forum:
    1) System Preferences > Displays: after connecting the projector (or screen viewed by the audience) to your computer and both are powered-on, click the +Detect Displays+ box; then check the screen resolution for both and optimize these displays if/as necessary.
    2) System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement: be sure that the menu bar is at the top of the screen representing your computer. This will direct your computer as the Primary Display and the other as the Secondary Display. Also be sure that the box labeled Mirror Displays is NOT checked.
    3) Keynote Preferences > Slideshow menu: Check the button labeled +Present on secondary display+. This will direct the presentation to the projector (or other screen). Check any of the other boxes that you feel are appropriate to your presentation.
    4) Keynote Preferences > Presenter Display menu: Check the box +Use alternate display to view presenter information+. This will put the Presenter Notes onto your computer's screen. I suggest you also check ALL of the other boxes, to give you the most information cues during presentation.
    Good luck.

  • Using comments in Pages

When I use the comments in Pages, the comments are posted in an order different than I want them.  How can I move the comments?  It won't allow me to click & drag.

When I add comments the will be in the order of the word or paragraphs they refer to. The comments have a thin line showing which word they are connected to.
I haven't been able to move any comment. I find it natural if the comments doesn't line up if they have more lines than the the word pr paragraph they refer to.

  • How to use COMMENTS column of PER_ALL_VACANCIES?

In Table PER_ALL_VACANCIES, there is a column COMMENTS. I want to add this column in the CREATE VACANCY page. Do I have to use the customization of IrcEditVacancyVO to use this column?

Thank you very much! This is exactly what I wanted.

One last question since you were all so helpful. How do I sort by the Average calorie burn column from highest to lowest? Every time I try to sort, it messes up all the formulas or won't change the names, just the numbers. In excel it's so easy to do this, I'm so surprised that I'm having issues sorting too! Ideally I'd like it to automatically sort to have the highest trainer on top, but I'm ok doing it manually if I need to.
    Thanks again!

    Hi,
    please follow these steps:
    - You have to enable ReaderRights (on ADS configuration using VisualAdmin)
    - The PDF must be static and NOT dynamic
    Then it works.
    Take care,

    Hi Meg,
True, it has been almost a year since my last day at Adobe.
Are you no longer with Adobe, Wes?
Knowing you were on staff there was a big reason I moved from FCP-7 to
    Creative Cloud.
