Can i use the functionality of Compensation and benefits instead of using Extra Information Types (an Example: Car allowance). Does anybody has an practical case, and if possible advantage and disadvantage of boths.Compensation and Benefits is a complete difference module which manages Benefits like insurances, 401K. retirements for employees. Extra information is only a place where you store some information for an employee, like Car Allowance.
You can use ICD functionality (Created for Bonus), which is part of benefits, for Car allowance.

  • Using expdp and impdp instead of exp and imp

    Hi All,
    I am trying to use expdp and impdp instead of exp and imp.
    I am facing few issues while using expdb. I have a Job which exports data from one DB server and then its imported so another DB server. Both DB servers are run on separate machines. Job runs on various clients machine and not on any of DB server.
    For using expdp we have to create DIRECTORY and as I understand it has to be created on DB server. Problem here is Job can not access DB Server or files on DB server. Also dump file created is moved by Job to other machines based on requirement( Usually it goes to multiple DB server).
    I need way to create dump files on server where job runs.
    If I am not using expdp correctly please guide. I am new to expdp/impdp and imp/exp.
    Regards,

    Thanks for quick reply ..
    Job executing expdb/impdp runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6 (Tikanga)
    ORACLE server Release 11.2.0.2.0
    Job can not access the ORACLE server as it does not have privileges (In fact there is no user / password to access ORACLE server machines). Creating dump on oracle server and moving is not an option for this JOB. It has to keep dump with itself.

    I tried to get the GPS latitude and longitude values using Autonomous and CellSite Mode parallelly using two threads, but while execution only one thread is being active and I get values from only that, the other thread doesn't return any values at all.
    Is it possible to retrieve the GPS information using multiple threads running parallelly and also can I display the latitude and longitude values from the threads on the screen with less accuracy rate among the values.
    Thanks in advance...

  • Has anyone had success using SharePoint and FrameMaker 10 together using CMS?

    Has anyone had success using SharePoint and FrameMaker 10 together using CMS?

    Thanks for reminding to at least update the results thus far.
    Update 4:
    I did get quite a bit of support initially although slowly over a period of a month or so. After Adobe FM support and my SharePoint systems engineer reviewed how FM10 was setup on my computer (which I am the admin for our department’s SP site) and how it interfaces with our SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Edition, there was two conclusions:
    Basically Adobe FM Support said that FM10 did not support claims-based authentication and they can no longer help me. They said it will work with FM11 when it comes out.
    My SP Systems Engineer, said that FM10 is connecting to SP 2010 just fine but that the FM10 has a software glitch that causes FM10 lose control when executing checkout procedure within FM10. I can checkout and edit that same file in SP with no problems.
    About a month later, I upgraded to FM11 and ran into the same problem. I attempted to get Adobe FM Support to help and they said they will look into and get back to me. That was in July and I have not heard anything more from them, and to be honest, my schedule has been extremely busy the last 5 months that I have not had time to pursue it any further.
    Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the SP interface and, overall, the lackluster support I received from Adobe. Having a working SP interface was one of the criteria for purchasing TCS3.5 (and subsequent upgrade) in the first place.
    One thing of note, we migrated from SP 2007 to SP 2010 in February 2011 and, at the time of Adobe support, I still had access to my SP 2007 site. FM10 and FM11 had to no issues working with SP2007. Unfortunately, SP 2007 is not an option for me anymore.
    Also, another observation of FM10/11 not working with SP 2010, it seems that FM10/11 is automatically configured to work with SharePoint Drafts folder locally when connecting to the SharePoint library. This worked just fine with SP 2007 but SP 2010 does not use SharePoint Drafts folder locally the same way (the programming changed, don’t recall where I saw it, probably when searching this issue online)  and I suspect that is one of the main issues why it does not work correctly.
    So at this time, I have not found a working solution to this problem.

  • WHEN TO USE SYS_REFCURSOR AND WHEN NOT TO USE REFCURSOR

    SYS_REFCURSOR is a Weakly Defined Cursor
    DECLARE emp_refcur SYS_REFCURSOR;
    when this is so simple
    why this
    DECLARE TYPE emp_cur_type IS REF CURSOR RETURN emp%ROWTYPE; my_rec emp_cur_type; ?
    Can anyone explain in what situations we should prefer among these ..when both can give same result set .

    > WHEN TO USE SYS_REFCURSOR AND WHEN NOT TO USE REFCURSOR
    When the requirements define that one is better suited than the other.
    There are no hard and fast rules about when to use a specific tool. There are however basic concepts of what the purpose of the tool is, and what typical problems the tool can address.
    Ref cursors in PL/SQL.. usually not the best of ideas. Ref cursors are designed for client-server processing.
    1) The client makes a request for data/information.
    2) PL applies the back-end server logic and construct a SQL statement for the client.
    3) PL passes the SQL to the SQL engine where it is parsed and a SQL cursor created.
    4) PL passes a reference handle to SQL cursor back to the client
    5) The client can now fetch the rows output from the cursor.
    Advantages.
    - The client does not need to know SQL, db structures, business logic, etc
    - The PL code can be improved, modified, new business logic added, without even touching a single byte of client code
    So what are the advantages where the "client" in the above is another PL/SQL program? None really.
    A "real" client (an external one like Java, C#, Delphi, etc) can receive the ref cursor handle and dynamically at run-time determine the projection (output) of the cursor.
    PL code cannot (unless using the latest 11g features). In PL code, a ref cursor is actually implemented as a DBMS_SQL cursor. A DBMS_SQL cursor is to PL code what ref cursor is to Java/C#/etc.
    So whether you define a strongly typed or weakly typed ref cursor in PL/SQL code... typical response is "so what?" as ref cursors are not really intended for PL code. Not that there are exceptions - they do come in handy at times.. but as exceptions to the rule.
    So my response is "so what?" - it is more important to *correctly" chose what type of client cursor data type you want to use to interact with the back-end SQL cursor. Once that decision has been made (based on technical sound logic), then one can look at  (minor) issues such as weak vs. strong ref cursors.

    Hi Tom,
    Thanks for your proposed solution. The problem has been solved.

  • I am using wifi and yet I have used 80% of my data why is that? Is there any way that I can get this fixed. I've inly used it for a few days. Now I have to be careful and not go over.

    I don't know what to do I am on wifi, but it seems to be using all my data and I want it to stop. I can't afford the overages that the cell phone charges.

    Hi Rosie4989,
    I'm using an iPhone5 too. There used to be a problem with Verizon iphones where users would get charged for cellular even though they were on wifi. But that was a long time ago and Verizon has issued a carrier patch to fix it.
    I don't remember seeing this problem reported for at&t.
    You can also look up your detailed bill to check for exactly when and how much data are getting used.

    Would you happen to have a recent wifi router change that is scheduled to be turned off during night time? I set my wifi router to be turned off during the night to reduce presence of wifi radio for health concerns. When I had that done in my house, it was about the time we just got our new iphone5es (default setting of fetch email), our data usage shot up quickly. It was due to emails getting pushed through during night time when the wifi is off.

  • Masterdata - when to use it and when not to use it

    Hi!
    I have had some discussion with my colleagues about the use of masterdata on Oracle databases. Some of them tells me that I should use it if the data don't change often (ofcourse.....). This should ALWAYS be done they say. But I don't agree on this..
    Is it really necessary to make a lot of masterdata (and also views that has to be used) if the data is only to be loaded once a day, and the number of records is max 1000?
    I can't see the effect on this...
    Can someone give me a guideline for when to use masterdata, and when I don't need to use masterdata (if there are any article on this, please give it to me).
    Best Regards
    Helge

    Hi
    Answering this question usually requires a few books, so, I'm sorry, it's not really as simple as choosing between using a screwdriver vs. a hammer.
    But, very short, inheritance should ideally only be used when there exist a strict 'is-a' relationship. However, sometimes it may be clever to inherit when you have a 'is-almost-a' relationship... And sometimes this is a stupid move. This depends on the context/circumstances.
    Aggregation is normally considered a 'has-a' relationship, thereby differing clearly from inheritance. The old 'car' model says "a car is-a vehicle and has-some (at least) wheels."
    The wheels are aggregated to the car class, that itself is inherited from vehicle.
    However, this is just a good rule-of-thumb and there may be circumstantial reasons for not following these guidelines.

  • How can I verify my phone number to use FaceTime and iMessage instead of email address!?

    My iMessage and FaceTime are both working, but it still says "Waiting for activation.." right under both the FaceTime and iMessage settings. Under the "Receive At" setting, my email address is entered in. When I press on my email address, it takes me to a page shows my Apple ID, my email address, and in gray it says "Vertifying" with my phone number also in gray. I am currently out of the country and am using wifi for my apps, iMessage, FaceTime, and checking email. Why does it still say waiting for activation even though I can use everything fine?

    I want that to be my last option if I need to. I don't want to delete everything and update everything back over. Are the finished with updating the severs? Last night I was unable to sign in using my Apple ID to use FaceTime or iMessage, but now I am logged in, but I can't verify my number. My iMessages are going through with my email instead of my number

  • Extra bytes in data transfer when using VISA and C++ instead of LABVIEW

    Hello,
    I've a problem when I try to download the capture buffer from a spectrum analyzer with C++Builder and VISA.
    If I do that with LABVIEW (with VISA read and write) everything is fine. Instead, with C I get extra bytes in
    the stream. In particular whenever there is a '0A' in the stream I get also a '0D' before it. I'm using a GPIB-USB-B card from National. I know I could easily get rid of those extra bytes in my code, but I'd like a cleaner solution.
    Does anybody know the difference between the following code and LABVIEW VISA read and write routines?
    Is there some attributes I have to set in C which is automatically set in LABVIEW?
    Thanks a lot in advance!!
    Simone
    ViSession defaultRM, vi;
    viOpenDefaultRM (&defaultRM);
    viOpen (defaultRM, "GPIB0::10::INSTR", VI_NULL,VI_NULL, &vi);
    ViStatus err = viSetAttribute(vi, VI_ATTR_IO_PROT, VI_NORMAL);
    ViUInt32 retCount;
    err = viWrite(vi, "CGET?0,0\n", strlen("CGET?0,0\n"), &retCount);
    ViByte* buffer = new ViByte[100000];
    err = viRead(vi, (ViByte*)buffer, 100000, &retCount);
    FILE *fp;
    fp = fopen("data", "w");
    fwrite (buffer, retCount, sizeof(ViByte), fp);
    fclose(fp);
    viClose(defaultRM);
    viClose(vi);
    delete []buffer;

    Simone,
    this has to do with LabVIEW running on multiple platforms with different End-of-line signals.
    With Windows this is usually 0x0d0a, which is the ASCII control code for . Other platforms use typically just one of those characters; I believe with MacOS there used to be just a 0x0a and with Unix this might have been 0x0d.
    In order to avoid hazzles, the LabVIEW develloper decided to convert the platform-specific End-of-line signals into a LabVIEW-internal character (which is 0x0a) when reading strings and back when sending strings out of LabVIEW.
    So, your device sends out 0xd0a and LabVIEW removes the 0x0d. Everything is OK.
    Greetings from Germany!
    Uwe
