Using Compress for itunes movies

Hi,
i tried to compress a movie i purchased from itunes. It went thru the process but the file size remained the same. The steps i took; finder, select file, action, compress.
I wanted to store it on mobileme but failed.
Is this not possible?

A movie is already compressed. It won't get any smaller compressing it again.

Question - applet using JMF for playing .mov

I develop an applet using JMF for playing .mov. It works fine, and the applet starts normally. Even my applet works fine from other computers in our LAN (The applet runs ok without JMF). But only on one PC it doesn't work and I get the following message

It started to work but I had to install fobs4jmf on the client computer.
And put .dll to windows/system33 directory. But how can I play video using applet in browser without installing any software on the client machine?

I'm having trouble using COLOR for my movie

I'm using Color for my movie I'm editing on FCP so this may be more of a question for the Color forums, but I figured I would get a faster response here.
When I go to open Color, it gives me a message saying:
"Color recommends that your system have 128 MB of VRAM; this system only has 64 MB of VRAM."
What does this mean? How do I get more VRAM?

You need to upgrade your graphics card (if possible).
VRAM is the RAM your graphics card has...

Using Airport Extreme and External HD as Destination for iTunes Movies

I have a 1TB external HD hooked up to my Airport Extreme base station. It has 2 partitions since I only have a 160GB MacBook Pro. I would like to use the other half of the hard drive as a destination for my iTunes movie down loads, or for my aperture photos.
Is this possible?

How can i use Ipad's ITunes movies with Samsung 52 inch LED HDTV LN52B750U1F

Hi there and happy holidays! I have a LN52B750U1F 52 inch TV and for the first time ever want to play iTunes movies from my iPad on the TV. I tried reading the manual but it is all gibberish to me - I am a tech idiot. I plugged the USB into both of the USB ports on the TV from the iPad and the TV recognized the iPad and the pictures, but had No Contect for movies / video. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

You can not connect to the USB port on the TV. You need to purchase an AV cable or use a WiFi network and Apple TV to stream the content using AirPlay.

Closed Caption Features for iTune Movie Downloads?

While I was glad to see that Apple plans to offer a movie download service with the iTunes Store, I'm still inclined to NOT use the service if there's no assurance that closed captioned/subtitled movies will be available as well.
Will iTunes Movie downloads include captioned media?
Today's DVDs all have features enabling us to turn on captions/subtitles and it's already a shame that Netflix, according to a representative's comment made nearly two years ago, will not provide captioned movies "until the near future"...
I hope Apple takes its hearing-impaired (deaf and hard of hearing) customer base into consideration...and it IS a sizeable customer base.

The question on the minds of the millions of deaf and hard of hearing people is whether Apple will make or enable captioning for their downloadable movies. I blogged about this a few weeks ago at HearingExchange online here: http://www.hearingexchange.com/blogs/?p=93 Apple didn't consider people with hearing loss when they made their iPhone non-compatible with hearing aids and cochlear implant processors. For a technology company, they aren't keeping up with accessibility trends. Central NAS for iTunes Movies

Hello all;
I'd like to set up my home network to include network attached storage eg 500GB external hard drive, which I use as the location for my iTunes movies and music; the intention would be to allow all machines (Macs or Windows or Linux) on the LAN to download to and then read from this central drive, so for example I could download in one room and then go to another room and watch the movie on a more appropriate machine; essentially it is a central shared library on the network.
Assuming all iTunes instances point to the same file location, are there other gotchas I need to keep in mind? eg DRM?

Yes. It is the computers that are authorised, though you only have to authorise computers on which you want to access protected content.

I have been using icloud for itunes and aps purchases, but now I would like to create a new icloud account so that my calendars sync without having to plug in ... how do I do this, as my phone won't let me change the icloud account

I read about doing this online and it looks simple and easy ... and yet, when i go to switch it on my iphone, there is only 1 place for an icloud account (our shared account) and it is greyed out so that I cannot change it. Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings. Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account. You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to
http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account. (have restrictions turned off) That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices. Then sign in using the new ID.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

I am debating between an external hard drive and utilizing iCloud. icloud makes me a little nervous....having my entire library in "the cloud" and deleted off of my desktop - do most of you who use icloud for music and photos have a backup on external hard drive anyway? iTunes Match allows you to put 25,000 songs in the Cloud. At present it isn't possible to add more storage but I wouldn be surprised if that isn't an option offered in the future. With iTunes Match you allow Apple to match your songs (purchased from Apple, ripped from your own CDs are purchased elsewhere). When Apple cannot match a song a copy of yours is uploaded.
Once the match process is complete (for my 24,000+ collection it took a couple days) the fun begins. Since my MBA can't hanle all my music, I use iTunes Match to download a small selection of my music every couple of weeks. My music remains in the cloud even when I delete them from my computer and if I have WiFi accesss I can get new songs. It is a great service and much more convenient than keeping your MBA's music on an external drive.

Language for iTunes movie

I have bought a movie from iTunes, and it comes just in spanish. I would like to have it in english. Is it possible to select an additional language after downloading? Is the language of the movies fixed prior to buying them? How could I select in What langage do I want a movie .

Im not 100% sure but i think it depends on the movie you have bought and if it has a multitrack recording or not. I dont think it would be possible to add another language after downloading.
The way to select the language you want in QuickTime Player is open the movie and then go To the 'View' menu up the top and go down to 'Langues' and there you will be able to see the options for the movie you have purchased.
What movie was it if you mind me asking, im interested in looking at what the movie says in the description.
