Using CR and Xcelsius with SAP BW - what is the minimal installation?

If this question is allready asked and answered several times i appologize.. but I'm having a hard time finding the correct information.
Our situation is that we run an SAP ERP and SAP BW solution with a federated SAP Enterprise Portal on top. The users require more graphical solutions for both static reporting and dynamic dashboards. So we want to use Crystal Reports and Xcelsius to provide frontend interface, but we want to do as little as possible backend, i.e avoid installing a full BO server with roles etc.
I appriciate that we need SAP NW EhP 1 SPS 5 to load data directly into Xcelsius and the BO integration kit transports have to be loaded into the BW system for full CR connectivity.
The problem that I'm having a hard time finding anwsers to is if this setup is capable of storing and and distributing the CR reports and dashboards to endusers? Can CR reports be stored on the BW server? Or can the CR reports and the dashboards be stored in the KW part of the portal?
Another partly related question, what desktop tool does the enduser need to run CR reports that updates with data from the BW server?
Alot of customers will have an SAP environment without any BO server/tools. Naturally we want to change as little as possible. A guide to what is needed for each BO BI tool to be implemented on SAP BW would be appriciated.

for the CR reports you need a BO Enterprise (or BO Edge) installation. The access to the BOBJ server is done transparently for your SAP BW users (they are able to start their reports in SAP GUI) but the reports are not stored on the SAP system rather in the BO repository.

I belive you can, I think my friends Apple TV is connected to their internet via an Ethernet cable, and we use Airplay sometimes using our iPads that are connected to the same network via WiFi. It should work as long as they are both connected to the same network. However, I don't have an Apple TV of my own, so don't take this as a solid answer.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

If you have a PC, you don't have Pages on it. You can transfer Pages presentations to/from iCloud via http://www.icloud.com , however -- you just won't have an app on your PC to deal with Pages documents. Make sure that you have your iCloud account properly configured on your iPad.

An IDoc is not a process.
The term IDoc stands for intermediate document. It is simply a data container used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data. An IDoc is created as a result of executing an outbound ALE or EDI process. In an inbound ALE or EDI process, an IDoc serves as input to create an application document.
IDocs are stored in the database.
In the SAP system, they are stored in database tables. Several utilities are available to display the information contained in an IDoc and present it in different ways. For details, refer to Chapter 11, "Monitoring the Interface."
Every IDoc has a unique number.
When an IDoc is generated in the system, a unique number is assigned to it. This number is unique within a client.
IDocs are independent of the sending and receiving systems. They can be used for SAP-to-SAP and SAP to non-SAP process communication as long as the participating processes can understand the syntax and semantics of the data.
IDocs are based on EDI standards, ANSI ASC X12 and EDIFACT, but are closer to the EDIFACT standards. The size and format of data elements in an IDoc type are derived from these standards wherever applicable. For example, if a material number is represented by 20 characters in an EDIFACT message, the corresponding data element in the IDoc is also 20 characters. If there is a conflict in data size between standards, the one with greater length is adopted. This approach ensures compatibility with most standards.
IDocs are independent of the direction of data exchange. An inbound and an outbound process can use an IDoc. For example, the ORDERS01 IDoc is used by the Purchasing module to send a purchase order, and is also used by the Sales and Distribution module to accept a sales order. Using this technique avoids creating redundant IDoc types for the same information.
IDocs can be viewed in a text editor and do not contain any binary data. Data is stored in character format. When transferred to the operating system, an IDoc is stored in a file in text format and can be viewed using a regular text editor. However, the contents make sense only if you understand the structure and format of the data in that IDoc. In the Appendix, "FAQs, User Exits, and Miscellaneous Resources," you will find an example of an IDoc file.

But if the data is in SAP ECC then do we need to use CIF to extract the data to BI in DP... so what is the role of CIF in DP if client uses only DP module? and if the client uses all the APO modules then what is the role of CIF in DP especially ?....awaiting for ur response....

How to get web application to use Tuscany without conflicting with SAP SDO

We are attempting to run a web application on SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 SP1 which uses Tuscany SDO. As it now stands We must use Tuscany because the web application will not run with the SAP SDO implementation provided by Netweaver. To ensure that Tuscany is loaded with priority, we have packaged the Tuscany JAR files and their dependencies as a heavy resource, as described here:

The final check showed that Tuscany was correctly deployed as a heavy resource and included the following JAR files:

We also verified that the web application using Tuscany has a hard reference to the Tuscany heavy resource.
However, when we try to run the web application, the following error is logged: java.lang.LinkageError: Class commonj/sdo/DataGraph violates loader constraints
The issue is definitely due to some kind of classloading conflict with the SAP SDO library, as the application runs normally when SAP SDO is manually removed from the classpath. Doing this on a production system is unfortunately not an option, though.
So the question is: how to get web application to use Tuscany without conflicting with SAP SDO?

I took a look at the "printerReady" example. Looks like I may be able to use the InetPing (...) function to ping through a range of IP addresses looking for a response.
Any ideas on how to find the MAC address associated with the IP addresses that respond?
We may have multiple units responding and the MAC address will allow the operator to determing which unit to connect to.
I'll try the InetPing to see how it works,

AuthenticationFailedException when using JNDI and JavaMail with SMTP auth

Hi all - I've been banging my head on this one for awhile now - hopefully someone else has done this.
We are working in a servlet container (tomcat), and need obtain a mail session from JNDI. We do this as follows:
               Context initCtx = new InitialContext();

               Session mailSession=(Session) envCtx.lookup("mailSession/trumpetinc");so far so good. The jndi entry for the mail session is configured in server.xml as follows:

I have faced the same problem and after some googling and trying I have discovered what causes the AuthenticationFailedException exception. I just wanted to share the knowedge maybe it will be helpfull to others.
Here it is what the API says:
To use SMTP authentication you'll need to set the mail.smtp.auth property (see below) and provide the SMTP Transport with a username and password when connecting to the SMTP server. You can do this using one of the following approaches:
1.Provide an Authenticator object when creating your mail Session and provide the username and password information during the Authenticator callback.
Note that the mail.smtp.user property can be set to provide a default username for the callback, but the password will still need to be supplied explicitly.
This approach allows you to use the static Transport send method to send messages.
2.Call the Transport connect method explicitly with username and password arguments.
This approach requires you to explicitly manage a Transport object and use the Transport sendMessage method to send the message. The transport.java demo program demonstrates how to manage a Transport object. The following is roughly equivalent to the static Transport send method, but supplies the needed username and password:
Using the Transport.connect makes the JNDI not very helpfull for configuration.
It seems that using just the mail.smtp.user and mail.smtp.pass is not sufficient for the authentication.
so, the solution is :
just place these to lines in the JNDI configuration:
          username="test"
          password="test1"
so it should looks as follows:

The answer depends on whether the AirPort Extreme is your main router....or...the Linksys device is your main router.
In either case, the two devices must connect together using a wired Ethernet connection using CAT5e or CAT6 cabling.
Any version of the AirPort Extreme produced within the last 5 years will have Gigabit Ethernet ports. In order to get the same speeds from the Linksys router, it will also need to be Gigabit Ethernet capable.
If you need additional Ethernet ports, you will need to add a Gigabit Ethernet switch to either the AirPort Extreme or Linksys router.
It is assumed that your other devices connecting to the AirPort Extreme and Linksys router will also have Gigabit Ethernet capability.
Not sure why you mention "ac" speeds in your post. This relates to wireless connections, not wired.

First you have to know what you are doing, like an engineer : you have a
Laplace, continuous time transfer function but LabView handles discrete
signals only. Use matlab/simulink if you want to simulate continuous time
systems easily...
If you definitely want to use LabView, the first step is to discretize your
continuous-time transfer function, i.e. decide a sampling rate and convert
it to a "z transfor
m". Then you can directly use the "IIR Filter.vi" as I
said earlier.

What make/model camcorder are you using?
Are you absolutely certain this is AVCHD video? Tell us more about the video settings you used in the camcorder (eg, frame size, frame rate, quality level)
Why are you attempting Log & Transfer from a card reader instead of from your camcorder? Have you tried doing Log & Transfer from your camcorder?
Are the SD cards straight from the camcorder, unaltered, or are you just using the cards as storage?
Are you using FCE 4.0 or FCE 4.0.1?

Since they occur on different days, organizing by event does not seem appropriate. Also, organizing by face is not always possible as some are close up photos of an individual eye. Surely, this has been done before, and I don't want to spin my wheels reinventing this.

Who can tell with that amount of information to work with?
iPhoto is not limited to Events or Faces as organizational tools - Albums, Keywords, various forms of metadata can be leveraged for use as well, and these are often more flexible. Really it's up to you to look at the tools available and see if they suit your usage scenario.
