Using cumulative distribution graphs

Is there a cumulative distribution graph in version 2008?

You can do a HISTOGRAM in the Graph Expert. Or you can "roll your own" using a line or scatter graph mapped against a function you provide.
If all else fails (which it shouldn't), track down our CRChart add-in for CR2008, which has better support for statistical charting inside of CR.

  • Newbie Question - Distribution Graphs in Discoverer

    Hi there,
I don't seem to be able to produce simple population distribution graphs in Discoverer (10g) Desktop or Plus. I'm trying to graph something as simple as #Students over Age from a simple corresponding table.
Discoverer is not presenting me with options to select the source of Y axis and X axis values with (for example) a Fit to Curve graph type. All Discoverer does is assume that each of your columns are seperate series' which it will graph on the same page.
Any advice is most welcome - I'm sure there's something simple that I'm not doing right...
    Thanks
    Dennis

Hi. Did you ever resolve this issue? I have not used this version before and cannot fathom why you cannot amend x or Y axis sources. For example, we have added the percentages to a report between compliant and non compliant spend. We want to represent the trend of the percentages in a graph. However, we cannot because the data being picked up is the spend on the Y axis, not the percentages.
    Any ideas?

  • Cumulative Distribution Functions

Like a fool, I sold my first year statistics textbook and have regretted it ever since. Help a guy out?
It goes like this: I have two random variables, X and Y, for which I know the cumulative distribution functions. I have a third random variable Z, which is just X + Y. Is there a formula calculating the CDF of Z from the CDFs of X and Y?

Your textbook wouldn't have helped you in this case
because there is no such formula... for the generalSorry to contradict you but there is a 'formula' but it is not simple. The text book should have helped.
The Distibution Function (DF) of the sum of two independent random variables is the convolution of the DF's of the two values. So if one differentiates the two CDFs to get the DFs, convolves the result to get the DF of the sum one can then integrate the convolution result to get the CDF of the sum (Wow).
This can be done numerically using several appraches. I have used the Fast Fourier Transform to perform convolution, differentiation and integration but not in this combination. This would be one approach I would consider but it may not be the best.
When I first saw this posted I looked at how one might create the CDF without differentiating the individual CDFs because this step is 'noisy' but I could not find a simple approach. I'm sure there is one but I have not found it.
Using the central limit theorem to obtain an approximation to the PDF is feasable if X and Y have a uni-modal distribution and the variances are similar is size. In the good old days of my using an IBM 360 I used IBM's normal distribution random number generator that just added together 6 samples of a uniform random number generator.

  • How to draw cumulative line graph over the stacked bar chart?(SSRS)

    Hello,
I need your help to draw a cumulative line graph over this bar chart.
I need your help to draw a cumulative line graph over this bar chart in SSRS.
The dimension (Category Group) is "Hour" in this case. and expression is sum of two distinct values like 'Y' and 'N' in Activity column(Series Groups). The sum(Activity=Y) in green color and sum(Activity='N') in Red color.
I require to draw a cumulative line graph in this same chart, that should give the result of cumulative Sum(Activity) for each hour?? I mean sum of (Y+N) for each hour and that should be cumulative over the hour.
I mean sum of (Y+N) for each hour and that should be cumulative over the hour.

  • Using cumulated values for further calculation in a bex report

    Hi ya'll,
I have a problem with using cumulated values in a bex report.
    the report has three lines:
    Values 1:    100    200  300
    Values 2:    10      5     40
    Values 3:    1000  500  4000
The values of row 3 is a formula multiplying the values from row 1 and 2... My problem is that the values of row 3 are wrong - for example 200*5 isn't supposed to result in 500 !!
I figure the reason is that the values of row 1 is a cumulated result, meaning the <i>actual</i> value of the second column of the first row i 100 (and not 200).
How can I ensure that my formula for row 3 uses the <b>cumulated</b> result from row 1, instead of the underlying result ?.

Create a column structure with Actual Value columns as well as cumulated value columns. Hide Actual Value Columns from display.
    Example :
    Actual1 | Actual 2 | Actual 3 | *** 1 | *** 2 | *** 3 |
    100 | 100 | 100 | 100 | 200 | 300 |
    You can create a forumla to calculate Value 3 : (Actual 1 * Value 2 ).
I guess you are using Cell Referencing to achieve this.

  • Use of distribution model

    Hi ,
Is distribution model necessary while sending Idocs to other system ?
    Regards,
    Pradeep

    Hi Pradeep,
Well sumone has already correctly replied that Destribution model determines the inrested receipient for perticular message, if u see while creating DM you need to specify the logical system of partners exchangin data along with the messages that would be exchanged and then the partner profiles that you generate with those logical system names specify the detailed info as in which structure (basic type/extension) to be used , wht port/prcoess code to be used
So distribution model jst gives high level info as in wht type of data is exchanged between which pair of partners.. n partner profile gives details of various technical objects to be used..
I would also like to make note that maintaining a DM in sending system is a MUST as in the ALE layer 1st thing done is receiver determination for which DM is used so if u do not make a DM well ur communication IDoc will not be created.. that is no IDoc will be sent outside.. in this holds true even if u r using custom IDocs

  • Using new Distribution Channel for dealers.

    Hi experts
Currently Domestic sales is operating only on one channel  DD.
Proposal is to set DR channels for all Dealers sales and DD will be used only for Retail Sales .
DR Channel was previously configured but we were only using DD channel for both retailors & dealers sales.. all configuration is already done like sales area setup  and pricing etc. for DR channel
so i would like to what are the pros and cons for using two Distribution channel and maintainence we require.
    thank  you

You need to extend all customers and materials for new distribution channel.
You also neeed to maintain prices for DD and DR channels separately.
ITs advantage is this that your reporting will be separately executed. You can check how much sales you have done in retail and how much you have done in Whole sale.
I dont know what kind of business your company is running. I suggest you to make a provision for 3rd distribution channel which is DC. B2B sales. corporate sales. May after some months or years your company feel need of it.
For extending customers and materials 2 uploads will do this. Ask you ABAPER to create uploads.
There must be separate distribution channels for corporate, retail, wholesale and Expots if your company is dealing with exports sale.
Hope its clear to you now

  • ALE: how do I use dependent distribution for customer and vendor addresses?

    Hello SDN'ers
Hopefully someone can help me with an ALE question.
We have two ERP systems connected with ERP - Retail and AFS.
Customers and Vendors may be created in Retail, and are distributed to AFS using DEBMAS, CREMAS and ADRMAS messages.
Not all customers and vendors are required in AFS, so we have various filters set up in the Retail distribution model (BD64).
However with the filters in place, addresses were still being distributed for customers and vendors that had been filtered out.
To try and avoid this for vendors, we created a filter group for AddressOrg.SaveReplica in receiver determination. In the filter group we selected Dependent Distribution for CREMAS (Address owner object).
This works perfectly for vendors - vendor addresses are now only distributed if the vendor itself is distributed.
However I've now discovered it is preventing any customer addresses from being sent! I was surprised about this: I expected CREMAS dependency to only affect vendor addresses. Can someone tell me:
    - is this how dependent distribution is designed to work? In which case can anyone offer any suffestions to achieve the filtering some other way?
    - or are we doing something wrong to be getting this result?
    Thanks for any help!
    regards, Roger

    Hi all,
as Robert suggested, I've written an exit to get round this, although I'm surprised I should need to!
What I did was to code an enhancement in function group BDBF, at the start of subroutine COMPUTE_LOGIC_EXPRESSION.
    * In the case of addresses, dependencies should only be applied for the appropriate type of address
      data: lwa_tbd14 type tbd14.

    *   Dependency from Message Type.
    *   Read the Address Object type
        READ TABLE P_FILTER_VALUES
                         WITH KEY OBJTYPE  = 'AD_OBJTYPE'
                         BINARY SEARCH.
        if sy-subrc = 0.
    *     Check if the Message Type is linked to the Address Owner Object Type
    *     (Table is buffered on DB)
          select single *
            from TBD14
            into lwa_tbd14
           where MESTYP = P_MODEL_DATA-FMESTYP
             and OBJTYP = P_FILTER_VALUES-OBJVALUE.
          if sy-subrc <> 0.
    *       Wrong type of address for this dependency - stop here
            P_REPLICATE = c_true.
            exit.
          else.
    *       Correct address type. Standard processing continues, checking any
    *       filter values set up against the Address Owner Object Type.
          endif.
        else.
    *     It isn't an address - continue with standard processing

Let me know if this helps you, or if you know of a better way to achieve the same result.

  • How to use cumulative Value in a formula

    Hello Gurus,
I would like to use the cumulative value in a query as part of a formula calculation. I have created a KF which is assigned a constant value 1. When displaying the KF I am cumulating it so for each row I am getting 1,2,3,4...etc. How can I use this cumulated value in a formula calculation?
For example, in a column cumulative count is 1,2,3,4...etc .My requirement is ,i want to identify the record with number 36 , to do this i have created a formula with boolean Equal to function comparing with the required number, but the boolean result what am i getting is Zero instead of one(1).
The reason i found behind the problem is, the cumulative count that we see is dynamically happening during the run time for display ,but the internal value is 1 only.
Is there any other way to meet this requirement or am i missing anypoint?.
    Thanks.

    Dear Yaseen,
To get the value in formula cumulative, after you have created the formula for that particular key figure,go to edit and click on tab "calculations".
In that select overall result as 'count all values not equal to zero' and single result as 'count all values not equal to zero' .
And mark the cumulative check box underneath.
I hope you get the desired result and please do me favour .

  • Use of Distribution model in Idoc to file

    Hey guys
just outta curiosity, why do we need to create distribution model for IDOC to file scenario,we can ofcourse do the scenario without creating Distribution model (by using WE19 to send IDOC's).
is it because for day to day transactions we wont go for WE19(its just for test purposes),we rely on Distribution model?
also is it job of XI developer to create DM ?
    thanx
    ahmad

    Ahmad,
BD 64 Distribution model allowed you to automatically create the Logical Systems ( BD54 ) and the partner profiles.
The steps you create to send an Idoc from your R3 system to XI ,( Bd54, we20 ) etc are all nothing but steps in the Distribution Model Bd 64 to send an Idoc to XI,

  • Using Cumulative Condition Type KUMU

    Dear SAP Gurus
I have a requirement here that when a packaged item is sold with some accessories, the order confirmation and billing output should only showed the total price on the main item. We are not using sales bom for this purpose.
For example in SAP order entry screen:
Line 1      Main item   net price  $100
    Line 2      accessory   net price  $  20
But on billing output to show:
Line 1      Main item   net price $120.00
    Line 2      accessory   net price  $    0.00
I am planning to use KUMU condition type to capture all the total net price of the 2 items into line 1.
Is it normal for KUMU to be determined at the sub items as well ?
Any ideas on how we could control the output print logic ? i.e to print only the KUMU condition type on main item if it exist.
    Thanks

    Hi friend,
As per my information KUMU  is a cumulative condition. If you have sales BOM and if you carry pricing for the sub items and if you want to display the main item in the invoice with the price. This condition can be used to cumulate the sub item price and display it at the main item level.
I think  this might be given you a idea of this condition type
    As pe my knowledge...
The standard system condition type KUMU facilitate us  to display the total of the net values of an item and all the sub-items belonging to that item.
    Line: -
Constraints OF KUMU cumulative condition type -
Cumulative conditions cannot be used as header conditions and processed manually.
When we copy a S O (sales Order) to a billing doc, the condition rate and the condition value of a cumulative condition is Freez. This means that the condition is not redetermined when it is copied regardless of the pricing type. The net value of the total is not redetermined even if the individual net values have changed.
as already suggested KUMU condition is used as item condition. This is a statistical condition and alternative calculation type is 36.The item should be higher level item and prices of all lower level items assigned to this higher level item are cumulated.
