Using CWUTU 2.0 with Prime 2.2, How to?

I don't suppose anyone is using the ol' Cisco Works User Tracking Utility 2.0 with Prime.
Moving our LMS 4.2 to Prime 2.2 shortly and I pointed the CWUTU at the existing Prime 2.2 install (wireless) to see if could get a handshake.  While certs were exchanged, the utility advisees to verify IP:port as no other response to query..

Sorry but it can't be done.
UTU was a lightweight tool that, under the covers, talked directly to Prime LMS's Sybase SQL Anywhere database. Similarly the Prime LMS Widget did as well.
Prime Infrastructure uses an entirely different Oracle database and is thus not compatible with UTU.
There's currently no equivalent tool for the desktop and I've not heard of plans to introduce one. :(
There was the Cisco Prime iOS app that offers a "clients and users" view. It may be of use to you - I haven't had the chance to try it on a live system.
It appears Cisco has abandoned this app though since I can't find it on the app store anymore after looking just now. I do have it on my iPhone. :)

  • How can I use my time capsule with Ethernet cable? How is it also possible to use time capsule as a normal external hard drive?

My problem is that I don't know how to use my Time Capsule with Ethernet Cable, as when I use wireless it is really slow.

Make sure that there is an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on your modem/wireless router to the WAN port on the Time Capsule
Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the page
Change the setting for Wireless Mode to Off (I assume that you do not want the Time Capsule to provide a wireless network since you already have a wireless network)
Next, click the Internet icon at the top of the screen, then click the Internet Connection tab
    Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
Click the Update button at the bottom and wait 30 seconds for the Time Capsule to restart and display a green light
Then, you must power off your entire network...all devices....in any order that you want
    Wait a minute
Start your modem/router first and let it run a minute
Start the Time Capsule and let it run a minute
Keep starting devices one at a time until everything is powered up
If you are using Time Machine for backups, you will need to reset the connection because you have changed the way in which the Time Capsule connects to your network
Open System Preferences (gear icon) on the dock
    Open Time Machine
    Click Select Disk
Click the Time Capsule to highlight it
Click Use for Backup or, it might be Use Disk
Now you can connect your Mac using an Ethernet cable to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule to back up using Ethernet. Be sure to turn off the wireless on your Mac before you start the backup.
If you want to backup using wireless, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the Mac to the Time Capsule and turn on the wireless and connect to your wireless network. Your computer will now backup using wireless.

  • Using OSX 10.5 with DynDNS...how do I get the silly host info from ISP out

    Hi There,
As I said, running an OSX server from home. Connects using DHCP so it pulls all the host info from the ISP. I'm using DynDNS for a domain I have registered. I can access the server from internet using my domain but how do I get all the host info from the ISP out of the system and just use the domain I have setup.
    Thanks in Advance,

The following is from this Apple document, iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ, and will help you understand how Photo Stream works:
    My Photo Stream
When you take photos on an iOS device, or import photos from your digital camera to your computer, My Photo Stream can automatically upload your new photos to iCloud and push them to all of your other devices.
When do photos upload to My Photo Stream?
How long are My Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud?
The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.
How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?
iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.
Since your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to have all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically downloaded. In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, be sure to select Photo Stream > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will be imported into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture. On your PC with Photo Stream enabled in the Control Panel, all of your photos will be imported into C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream.

  • I have been using FF 3.6.16 for 6 months or so and now am trying to upgrade to FF 4.0 to use the synch feature with an ipad. How do I find out if I have a FF acount? Is using FF synonomous with having an account?

You just made me create an account to find out if I have an account.
All I want to know is if I already have an account? How do I do that? Did I have to have had an account to be using FF 3.6.16, as I have been for 6 months or is an account requirement new to FF4?

If you haven't already used Firefox Sync, you don't have a Sync account.
If all you want to do is use Firefox Sync, you can install the Firefox Sync extension into Firefox 3.6.x versions. <br />

  • ISE integration with Prime Infrastructure,

    Hi Team,
I would like to know what are the advantages and Disadvantages of the ISE integration with Prime Infrastructre. Also  how the LAN, wifi, and identity management part (guest access etc) will work together.
    Cheers!!!
    Minakshi

Prime Infrastructure manages the wired and the wireless clients in the network. When Cisco ISE is used as a RADIUS server to authenticate clients, Prime Infrastructure collects additional information about these clients from Cisco ISE and provides all client relevant information to Prime Infrastructure to be visible in a single console.
When posture profiling is enforced in the network, Prime Infrastructure talks to Cisco ISE to get the posture data for the clients and displays it along with other client attributes. When Cisco ISE is used to profile the clients or an endpoint in the network, Prime Infrastructure collects the profiled data to determine what type of client it is, whether it is an iPhone, iPad, an Android device, or any other device.
Cisco ISE is assisting Prime Infrastructure to monitor and troubleshoot client information, and displays all the relevant information for a client in a single console.

  • HT204153 How do I use a satellite subscription with my Apple TV?

llooking to use a satellite subscription with my Apple TV how do I do that?

    Hello gigimaid,
If your satellite service connects to a modem or router, you should be able to use either Wi-Fi or ethernet to connect your Apple TV to the internet. This resource should help:
Switch between wired and wireless networks on your Apple TV
Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the Apple TV.
Navigate to Settings > General > Network to join a Wi-Fi network.
A list of available wireless networks will appear. Using the up and down buttons on your remote, navigate to the network you wish to join and select it.
If your wireless network requires a password, a keyboard will appear, allowing you to enter the password using your remote.
If the network you wish to join is hidden, click Other. Then enter the network name using the onscreen keyboard and the remote. Enter the password if necessary.
After Apple TV has joined the network, a Connection Succeeded screen should appear. Click Done. The screen now should display the wireless network information, including network name, IP address, Wi-Fi address, and signal strength.
To switch back to a wired connection, connect the Ethernet cable. Apple TV will switch to the wired connection automatically. Apple TV prioritizes a wired Ethernet connection.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

Not with a gift card for the iTunes Store, anyway. Apps from the iTunes Store are for Apple's devices only. If you have a gift card for Google's app store, that would be a different matter.

    With Tejas Shah
Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions from Cisco expert Tejas Shah on One Management with Prime Infrastructure 1.2 Combining the wireless functionality of Cisco Prime Network Control System (NCS) with the wired functionality of Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution (LMS),  Cisco Prime Infrastructure simplifies and automates many of the day-to-day tasks associated with maintaining and managing the end-to-end network infrastructure from a single pane of glass. The new converged solution delivers all of the existing wireless capabilities for RF management, user access visibility, reporting, and troubleshooting along with wired lifecycle functions such as discovery, inventory, configuration and image management, automated deployment, compliance reporting, integrated best practices, and reporting.

Raun, please see my responses inline:
Can you go over the licensing method with Prime Infrastructure 1.2 please?
Raun, you can check out the following link for ordering guide at
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps12239/products_data_sheets_list.html
I currently have NCS and do NOT currently have LMS.  I know I can move to Prime Infrastructure through Cisco Product Upgrade Tool.  However, what I am confused about is do I still have to buy LMS to have LMS functionality in Prime Infrastructure 1.2?
==> Not at all.  The converged product will give you basic management capability for routers and switches that LMS provided in this release.   Feature/Functionality will keep on growing with upcoming releases.
If not, do the licenses I transfer into Prime Infrastructure 1.2 from NCS also work for devices to work under LMS?
==> Licensing is different than NCS or LMS.  You don't have to transfer the license.  Each install of Prime Infrastructure will have a unique UID string on which the licenses are based.  A new license will be applied to the product.
Mean, can my currently 350 licenses be used for AP's as in NCS and routers in the LMS portion of Prime Infrastructure 1.2?
==> I would recommend getting a total count of your wired and wireless devices and match the right SKU based on that.
Hope this helps.. Let me know if you have any further questions,
    Tejas

  • Managing vty ACLs with Prime Infrastructure?

    I have a number of devices -- various models of Nexus, (2k - 7k), 6500s and some 1U stackables.
I'm trying to come up with a good way to leverage PI (2.1) to apply a vty ACL to the switches. There does not appear to be a template for this. The problem of course is not only the order of operation (remove ACL from vty if there is one so Prime doesn't lock itself out, only then do the rest of the stuff) but that the syntax seems to differ very aggravatingly -- some require "line vty 0 1509," some "line vty 0 1510," some platforms accept named ACLs for vty ACLs, some don't...
Any tips, tricks, or best practices on how to install and update vty ACLs on IOS and/or NX-OS devices with Prime Infrastructure?

I am also interested in this topic. We have vty ACLs in place but with different names. Would like to be able to find and update the ACL's and vty config. Using PI 2.1.

  • Can I create a predictive AP layout in a MAP with Prime if I only bought a L-PI2X-BASE license?

Can I create a predictive AP layout in a MAP with Prime if I only bought a L-PI2X-BASE license?

    Welcome to the discussions!
Sorry, can't help on the Vista front, but you might consider the Express as a first step and add the Extreme at a later time to replace the D-Link. The Express will be quick and easy to configure with a cable modem and if you are traveling, you can also use it to create a wireless network in your hotel room, providing ethernet jacks are available in the room.
Compatibility of the Apple stuff with other manufacturers, wireless wise is non-existent, so don't plan to use it to extend or broaden the wireless network created by the D-Link at home. Won't work.
You would have the option of creating a second wireless network at home with the Express if you plugged it into one of the ethernet ports on your D-Link router. The only change you would need to make in setup would be to switch Connection Sharing to Off (Bridge Mode) from the default setting of Share a single IP address. This would take less than a minute.

  • Using a SHA2 certificate with 12.1.1 (Oracle Wallet Manager 10.1.0.5)

    Hi folks,
I'm trying to enable SSL on my 12.1.1 system, but I've got a bit of a problem.
I've already logged a SR on this, so I already know that you cannot use SHA2 SSL certificates with Oracle Wallet Manager 10.1.0.5, which is part of the 10.1.3 tech stack. I started the SR on the EBS side, but it was passed on to the security group, and closed there. My question is, is there something that I don't know? Is there an upgrade path in 12.1.x that would include an upgrade to the OWM, or is there some sort of workaround? I'll be opening another SR tomorrow, but wanted to see if I was missing something simple.
We have an internal certificate server (Microsoft AD), and the root certificate, which I need to import, is SHA2. I'm being told that they cannot generate a SHA1 root certificate, and would have to stand up another certificate authority. OWM 10.1.0.5 can't handle SHA2, so I'm stuck.
    Anybody been there done that?
    Thanks very much,
    -Adam vonNieda
