Using data in text file as indicator
hi all
i want to know is there a way to use a text file and use the data in it to represent and name as the label of the indicator ?
i have attached a sample text file , what i want to achieve is that as the first row of the text file is 2 3 4 6 , its should be represented in labview and also all the indicators representing the data should have the label as the data
so when numeric indicator is displaying a value 2 it should also name the indicator 2
also the file i am attaching has only 04 columns what if the number of columns are unknown , then how can i achieve the same thing .
i hope i am clear in describing what i want to achieve
with regards
Regards

Hi nolsqn,
what about reading the file as array of strings (ReadFromSpreadsheetFile as 2D array of strings) and display the content in a table? Here you could easily use the first row of the text file for the column headers...
Otherwise it would be a much harder job to "create" new indicators depending on the number of columns...
Best regards,

Spool SQl data into text file using dynamic sql
Hi,
I am spooling output data into text file using command
select 'select t.mxname,bo.lxtype,t.mxrev'||chr(10)||'from mx_1234567'||chr(10)||
'where <condition>';
here mxname varchar(128),lxtype(128),mxrev(128) all are of varchar type.I want the output in format
e.g Part|1211121313|A
but due to column width the output,I am getting is with spaces.
"Part then blank spaces |1211121313 then blank spaces |A"
how can I remove these spaces between columns.I used set space 0 but not working.
Thanks in advance.
Your help will be appreciated.Hi Frank,
I have seen your reply for SET LINE SIZE function. But, I could not be able to understand it.
I am facing similar kind of issue in my present project.
I am trying spool more than 50 columns from a table into flat file. Because of more column lengths in few columns, i am getting space. There are so many columns with the same issue. I want to remove that space.so that, data can fit perfectly in one line in .txt file without any wrap text.
Below is my sample query.sql. Please let me know the syntax. My mail id : [email protected]

Unable to find file error while loading data from text file to Oracle
Hi,
I am having a interface where i am loading a data of Text file to Oracle.
But when i am trying to do this i am getting following error.

I am using get_filename to get the filename and it is fetching correct value as the this variable refreshes in previous step of this interface.
KM used for loading is File to SQL
What would be cause of this error?
Thanks,

Did a testing and following are the result

I don't think you have a standard sap program to upload data from file to database table...
Instead you can create a custom program like this..

Remove duplicates while loading data from text file
Hi,
Data in text file (some times has duplicates) is being loaded into Oracle 9i database using Informatica. To improve performance, we would like to remove duplicates at the time of each load using Oracle procedure. Could you please help me with this?
Thanks,
LakshmiNo, our table doesn't have that. Most of the functionality is managed at the informatica level. Is there any other way? Thanks,

from gl_je_headers_v,gl_je_lines,GL_JE_CATEGORIES
,gl_code_combinations_v
where gl_je_headers_v.je_header_id = gl_je_lines.je_header_id

Write data to text file on command using trigger
Hi there
I'm kinda new to using Labview, and i seek some advices.
I've got this program, which is used to read from a usb-device (6215). It measures the voltage at an input channel on the usb-device, and processes it, and finally writes the data to a txt file. I want to control when it writes the data (only one instance/ measurement at a time) via a trigger.
The problem is, that the trigger does not work. It always writes to the file i have specified. Can anyone help me getting this right?
Furthermore, if someone have any suggestions how to make the data in the text file more readable (i'dd suggest using colums - but how?) i would greatly appreciate it. Maybe converting to an exel-document could be the answer?
Thank you in advance, Troels
Ps:
Hope you can see past the danish text
Attachments:
Sensor.vi 12 KBYour true and false cases are identical and the file write is outside of the case statement. The boolean trigger does nothing. Why don't you try putting the file write inside the true case statement and nothing in the false case? You wouls also place the DAQmx Read inside the true case.
If you are not going to use an event structure (but you should), place a Wait (ms) function inside the loop. -
Read data from text file one by one using for loop
Dear Forum
I want to read data of single colum of text file inside the for loop one by one(for each iteration value must be replaced by another value of text file). This value is used by a formula inside for loop. also after completion of iterations the values must be plotted on xy graph. How to do it.? please help me.
profraviIt's not very efficient to read a file line by line. Much simpler to read it all at once and then auto-index the results inside a for loop. The image below shows a generic solution to your problem. This assumes that the data in the file is in a single column.
I would also recomend checking ou the learning LabVIEW resources here.
I would aslos suggest that since this type of question is not specific to either NI-Elvis or the LabVIEW SE, you should post similar questions to the LabVIEW board. If you have problems, attaching a sample of the text file would help.
