Using digital tv in different countries with ATSC/M and DVB/PAL formats
Are there any Toshiba LED/LCD/plasma models 40-42" that will function with both DVB and ATSC digital formats and M (NTSC) and PAL analogue formats?

This is sort of the holy grail for me as well, I've got an upgraded PC with a dual analog tuner and a single DTV tuner on it - for now I'm using a TV antenna to get DTV transmissions and using the analog for ch 2-83 cable. Not ideal, but the OTA stuff is great. One side benefit - it still records in .DVR-MS format, which most applications know what to do with. Not too many out there that know what to do with .WTV format that the update pack (Fiji) creates.
From what I understand - if you have a newer QAM tuner and driver - Win7 should bring it all together. Maybe by then the video editing packages will be able to handle the new format as well.

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

Is there a way or should I get a dedicated simulator on PC?The fact that USB flight input devices appear to Windows only is not a limitation; for Mac most are programmed through the sim itself. I know X-Plane does that.
I've simmed a lot and know that good sims need a lot of processor and video hardware horsepower, and you'll also need a lot of RAM. They also run up the internal temps. A Mac Pro has better cooling than an iMac. You can get a program like SMCFanControl to manually set up the fans speeds before starting the sim.
I know of no sims today that will still run on a PowerPC Mac (2005 and earlier) so you need to look to an Intel Mac with top specs. If looking at iMacs, start by looking for the quad-core i7 processor. Those models usually came with an up-rated video card. Thing 12 to 16GB RAM.
My 2010 iMac has the 2.93gHz i7 processor, video hardware (ATI 5750) with 1TB VRAM, and 12 GB of RAM. It runs the x-Plane 10 demo fine but I've not bought the full version because v10 seems to make foot pedals darned near mandatory, and I don't want $100 worth of pedals under my regular work desk at the moment. -

1. Install PSE 11 in windows, upgrade your catalog, then make a full backup to a removable drive, like a usb drive, using the organizer's back up command. If you buy the boxed version you get discs for both platforms.
2. Install PSE on the mac.
3. Restore the backup to the mac. Point the restore to the .tly file in the folder, not the enclosing folder. -

If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -

I have Sonos. No, it won't use iTunes match. It will allow you to stream your itunes media, but only the files you have on a hard drive on your network.

As we know, China and Europe use the different frequency band for wifi 5GHz. I bought the iPad in China, could I use my iPad in Europe?For straight Wi-Fi there is no problem - you just have to change your location and time zone so your apps know where you are - and if passwords are involved, you might have change the language setup - and different countries might have different channel ranges but they overlap with the capabilities of the ipad - and there may be some legalities with the frequencies involved but I have never of an iPad police so I wouldn't worry about it - people just use there iPads where they have to.
However, iPads with cellular access are another story - their use would depend on their carrier and the availability and compatibility of the carriers in the destination country - and if service is available it could be very expensive -

I have been using this query in oracle 8.1.7

In the above query I want to see rows from MANAGER_AREA table depending upon date criteria in the table MANAGER_WORK and also upon the parameter :value i.e if I pass a value as 0 I get to see records for which their is atleast 1 record in MANAGER_WORK with the date criteria and if I pass -1 then I get all the records because minimum value that count(*) would give is 0. The resultset was as expected in 8.1.7.
A couple of days back I installed PERSONAL 9i to test for testing the basic functionality of our program with the same data. This query fails and irrespective whether I pass -1 or 0 it returns me same dataset which I would have got in case if I pass 0.
I do not know whether this is a bug that has got introduced in 9i. Can anybody help me with this problem. It would be difficult for me to change the parameter send to this query as the Query is called from many different places.

Amol.I cannot use a Group by and a having statement over here. The problem with 'Group by' and 'having' clause is If I have to make a join between the two tables. When I use join then I get only rows that are linked to each other in the table.
If I use outer join to solve that problem then I have to take in consideration the other date condition. My previous query use to virtually discard the corelated query result by using -1 as the value. This will not happen in the join query.

Has anyone used the Panasonic BT-LH2600WP monitor with Premiere CC and AJA T-TAP?
I'm considering investing in the Panasonic 26" BT-LH2600WP to use as a color correct monitor with my 27" imac and a aja T-tap (thunderbolt to sdi adapter). Has anyone done this or know if there are any quality issues?

PhilPhil, I have a similar set up, but I have the 17-inch Panasonic SDI monitor. Premier works okay with the T-Tap, with some minor yet annoying bugs.
If I monitor audio via HDMI from the T-Tap, which I prefer, then my Panasonic monitor and its matching audio are about half a second out of sync with the iMac display. (But the HDMI audio is perfectly synced with the Panasonic SDI video.) This is annoying because both the Panasonic and the iMac are directly in front of me, and it's confusing seeing the out of sync iMac image. Definitely not something to show any clients.
If I switch my audio monitoring to "Adobe Desktop Audio," which is the feed from the iMac's headphone jack, this problem disappears. In that case, the Panasonic and the iMac display are almost perfectly matched up. However, now I'm getting lower quality audio, with added digital-to-analog processing in the signal.
Using the T-Tap is smooth and trouble free in Final Cut Pro X, but in Premier it is a bit buggy. That said, it works mostly okay.
While we're on the subject, can anyone suggest the best Preferences settings in Premier to use the AJA T-Tap? I may be missing something.
