Using display from touch smart with fried motherboard.

I have a 520-1055 touchsmart that croaked because of motherboard problem.
does anyone know if there Is any way to hookup the display to use it as an additional display for another touchsmart or any other computer for that matter. I already removed the HD and the RAM so I am just trying to salvage what I can before recycling it.
I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has.

I understand that you are looking to use your HP TouchSmart 520 All-In-One Desktop PC with a fried motherboard as a monitor for another computer. Unfortunately, you cannot do this. The HP TouchSmart 520 All-In-One Desktop PC is a computer with a monitor built-in which means the connections (except for the game-in HDMI port) all go through the computer to the monitor and not directly to the monitor. This means when you try to connect another computer you are connecting it to a fried motherboard and not the monitor.

Problem viewing .xlsx and .xlsm file in DMS using Display from Archive Link

Hello All,
We are using IXOS as a content server for storing the documents through SAP Archive Link.
We are not storing any documents in SAP DMS.
The client has an requirement to manage .xlsx and .xlsm documents.
1. xlsx - We defined a new document class xlsx under SAP NetWeaver ..-> ArchvieLink and made the required mime and sheet settings. This allows to upload a .xlsx file to IXOS server succesfully (using Check in Archive) link.
But whenever we try to view the file using "Display from Archive", the browser gives a warning message that the file is in different format than xls. Do you want to still open (Standard Excel application message). On clicking yes, the file opens in .xls format instead of .xlsx.
The client doesn't want to change the format to .xls. What can be done to preserve the .xlsx files.
2. xlsm - Any clue as to does SAP ECC 6.0 support this file type for DMS? And if how the config settings are to be done?

Hi Ketki,
based on your description I think that maybe SAP note 1289314 could help here and made sure that the local copy also has extension XLSX or XLSM.

I recently purchased the IQ505 and have fallen in love with it. However, (a small thing) the monitor displays my PowerPoint slides slightly "taller" than they should be (stretched vertically) . Most monitors I have used in the past have, either a physical adjust, or a software adjust. I can't find either on this one. Sure hope it can be adjusted. Thanks.

Anyone using an iPod touch 4g with Vulkano Flow?

I'm using Vulkano Flow with a PC, and iPad3 and an Ipod touch 4g iOS 5.1--all wireless. Everything is using the same network in the same location. The PC and iPad are working great (2.5-3.5Mbps) but the iPod is constantly "buffering" and pausing every 3 seconds until it just says try again later.
Is anyone else using the Vulkano and what kind of results are you getting?   Anyone have any suggestions? I've tried removing and reinstalling the Vulkano Player App with no change. I'm using the same settings for all devices.

Try the following to ryle out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Cannot use aipprint from iphone 4 with ios 5.0.1. does not find the hp m1212nf laser.

have a hp m1212nf mfp(airprint compatible according to the hp web site) hooked up via usb to mac running OS 10.6.8., other mac hooked up via router to same network, Can print from both machines to the printer, which has the latest firmware installed.
Want to print from iphone 4 running ios 5.0.1. Running on wi-fi, and tried to print, but iphone cannot find the printer. Any suggestions??

In order to print using Air Print you will need to make sure your iphone 4 is connected to the same wi-fi network as the printer is. Also, what is the make and model of your router ?

Using itunes from external harddrive with orig playlist.

Hi all i am new so dont kill me i want to take my music off my macbook pro and access it from my external hard drive. is there a way that i can transfer the the files with playlist and re open itunes using my external drive and have all the playlist there. also when i save music how do i set it up to save to the external hd? this way i can take it to my office if i need to use it or my other systems. Please point me in the right direction.

To move your iTunes music and info to an external drive...
Quit iTunes.
Move the entire iTunes folder including music to the external drive.
Click on the iTunes icon to start it, then immediately press and hold the Shift key in Windows, Option key in Mac.
iTunes will ask to Create new library or Choose existing library. Select Choose existing library and select the library in the folder you just moved.
Move the old iTunes folder to the trash but do not empty it.
Restart iTunes normally and verify the songs work. If they do, empty the trash.

An alternative is to use LaTexIt. In that case, you CAN edit equations after they are embedded in Keynote. It even works with Linkback so that you can just choose "edit" from Keynote. Of course, you have to be comfortable working with Latex, but this might be worth it as Latex is anyway the best way to typeset math

Find model # with fried motherboard and blank sticker

Hello, I have a tecra a9, but no idea the model#. The sticker on the bottom is blank due to age (Toshiba should look into their sticker quality). And the motherboard is fried so I cannot boot or do anything that would reveal in the bios, in windows, or use anything software-related to identify it. I have disassembled it completely as a side-project to replace the MB, but based on the components within the case can I identify the model? Let me know what components would reveal the model I have, such as the processor, ram, graphics solution, hard drive size, wireless components etc. I will then report back what those components are and perhaps we can track down my model. Thank you!

Theres a whole list of model numbers on the second table, after selecting a model then the component part numbers are available. Hope this helps

Using multiple iPod Touch units with a single instance of iTunes.

My wife and I both have the iPod Touch. She syncs hers on her computer, I sync mine on my computer... If I want to transfer an .mp3 or .mp4 video from my device to hers what's the best way to do that?
I tried to plug hers into my computer and iTunes opened but iTunes will not let me drag and drop music or videos (not even .mp3s) into her iPod Touch and she can not transfer anything into mine.
What is the work around to this? Why is this so?

Sure they do.
Plug it in and it will sync. Plug in another and it will sync.
iTunes does not sync from the iPod to the computer (except for iTunes purchases).

You can't go iPod to iPod.
Copy the music from her computer to your computer.
Or set your iPod to Manually manage music, plug into her computer and drag the music to your iPod.
I am unable to manage the other iPod.
You don't need to do it on both and you cannot go iPod to computer.
You can if you copy the files into the iPod in the Finder, then plug into the other computer and drag from the iPod in th eFInder to the desktop, then add to iTunes.

Sed help / extracting useful bits from a line with sed

I need to parse some log files extracting only the numerical parts of interest. Example line:
x264 [info]: SSIM Mean Y:0.9689320 (15.077db)
Two goals here:
1) Capture the number after the "Y:" --> 0.9689320
2) Capture the number in () without the db --> 15.077
I thought I'd attack it using sed to find anything up to Y: and delete it, then anything after a space and delete it, but find myself unable to do it. Suggestions are welcomed. I can do it with awk/sed combo but want to learn a better way.
awk '{print $5}' | sed 's/Y://'

My Hp touch smart with Windows 7 premium randomly loses all printer drivers.

My new system will Randomly drop all printers. I don't think it matters if its wired or wireless through the router. when I try to print it says that there is no printer installed. When I go and look in the control panel there are no drivers there. Sometimes I can close the program (usually quickbooks) ,and when I reopen the software it will work fine. Other times I have to close everything and reboot. Often I will have printed something just a few minutes before with no problems and then all of a sudden nothing. I don't have time to shut down the computer and restart it every third time I want to print something. I don't know how the drivers disappear from the controll panel an suddenly reappear on restart. I have also had an error that there was no printer spooler whenI tried to reinstall after tehy were lost the first couple of times.

just to verify. My main printer is connected by USB to my computer and the driver still disappears when this problem occurs.

Using my ipod touch 5G with speakers designed for the iPod touch 4G.

Is there any way to do this? I just realized the bottom of my ipod touch 5G is completely different than the 4G I own, and my speakers (HK go+play micro) is made for the older version. The connector is way too large for the 5G. Is there a way to connect it, or am I stuck having to buy a new set of speakers? :/

One of these adopters/cables may work. However, some docks are not compatible with either the Lightning connector or the IOS on the iPod (sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility). Thus go to the manufacturer's support site to see it it will work with the adopter.

Using features from Microsoft Office with Java

I have as a school project been given the task, to make a small program that can scan the HD for .doc files, from the criterias: -auther -date created -comments -Full text search ( for words or phrase in the raw text in the document )
Is it possible from a java program, to acces the search functionallity in word itself ? Or do i have to find another way to get around this problem - like reading the doc as a bit stream.
If it were possible to make use of the eksisting functions in word, it would be alot easyer to get this program done...

Read an avi file using "Read from binary file" vi

My question is how to read an avi file using "Read from binary file" vi .
My objective is to create a series of small avi files by using IMAQ AVI write frame with mpeg-4 codec of 2 second long (so 40 frames in each file with 20 fps ) and then send them one by one so as to create a stream of video. The image are grabbed from USB camera. If I read those frames using IMAQ AVI read frame then compression advantage would be lost so I want to read the whole file itself.
I read the avi file using "Read from binary file" with unsigned 8 bit data format and then sent to remote end and save it and then display it, however it didnt work. I later found that if I read an image file using "Read from binary file" with unsigned 8 bit data format and save it in local computer itself , the format would be changed and it would be unrecognizable. Am I doing wrong by reading the file in unsined 8 bit integer format or should I have used any other data types.
I am using Labview 8.5 and Labview vision development module and vision acquisition module 8.5

Hello,
Check out the (full) help message for "write to binary file"
The "prepend array or string size" input defaults to true, so in your example the data written to the file will have array size information added at the beginning and your output file will be (four bytes) longer than your input file. Wire a False constant to "prepend array or string size" to prevent this happening.

How can I change gmail inbox/sent items display from conversations to individual messages

I use an iPod Touch 5G with IOS 8.1 to access email using the GMail app.
I want to change the inbox/sent items display lists to show individual e-mail messages. I don't like the "conversation" display on my small screen. It is too hard to read important info in the thread.
I don't see anywhere in my app to change that type of display.

Go to Settings>Mail and turn off Organize by Thread. This applies to all mail accounts. It can be set to only apply to one account
