Using docs created w/ different wordpro program

Question

Is it possible for Pages to read docs I created on my old iMac using Appleworks? Is there a way to transfer these files from a cd to my newer computer so I can print/revise/edit these docs in Pages or do I need a different wordprocessing program?

Pages is able to open most AppleWorks 6 Word Processing documents.
Numbers is able to open most AppleWorks 6 Spreadsheets documents.
Keynote is able to open most AppleWorks 6 Presentation documents.
If you have DB documents, only AppleWorks may open them.
If you have Draw documents, there is a third party which if I remember well is able to open them but I forgot its name.
If you have Paint document, you will be forced to open them with Appleworks then export them in a public format.
If the AppleWorks available on your old imac is an AW6 one, copy the entire AppleWorks 6 folder on a CD then copy it in the Applications folder of your new machine. Don't forget to remove it from the old imac.
Assuming that it's a very old AW6, it will not be usable directly but you will be able to apply the AW 629 updater and so it will be OK for years.
