    # Question
I want to download and install adobe flash player. When I do so one of 2 things occur. A dialog box appears but it has no run option but a save file or cancel option. The other is if the proper dialog box appears, I agree and the a different box appears and there is foxfire with a red circle with a diagonal line across is appears.

I find the easiest way to install Adobe Flash is to use the manual installers. You just need to download the installer to your computer, then run it to install Flash. For more details see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller
That link states you should uninstall earlier versions, as you don't have the version of Flash used by Firefox you can skip that step.

  • I cannot download the new adobe flash player on my mac OSX 10.5

I have always been able to watch videos on line.  Now on msnbc it says I have to download the new Adobe Flash player in order to watch the videos.  When I try to download it won't do it.

Call Apple and file a formal complaint, it's Apple that is not supplying security or patches to 10.5 users and expects everyone to be computer guru's.
16.5% of Mac users are on 10.5 and Apple just denies security and stability updates to force you to upgrade your OS or your hardware prematurely.
There is a massive botnet of over 600,000 Mac's and the prime location is on 10.5 Intel Mac's which they refuse to fix.
Appe's "solution" is for you to upgrade your operating system to 10.6 or even 10.7 (this will make your machine slow and won't run a lot of your software, another "problem")

IMO 10.6  would be best for you, the least trouble, but you bought a Mac for it to "just work" as your not "into" computers, your just a regular user like most Apple's customers.
So call Apple and complain, then buy the 10.6.3 retail disk and stick it into your machine and upgrade and cross your fingers and update to 10.6.8.
Backup your persona data off the machine first to a storage drive and disconnect.
 Most commonly used backup methods explained
Once your on 10.6.3 use software update to get to 10.6.8, then you can install Flash.

    3. Check  whether you are currently  in  YouTube HTML 5 trial.

There's two different versions of Flash. The ActiveX version for IE, and the Plugin version for other browsers. Did you install the correct version? This forum's software doesn't thing that Flash is installed for Firefox or the Plugin is disabled.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    4. Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />
    See this: <br />

  • I got Creative Cloud because it said using it to buy Adobe Flash CS6 is a better value, but I don't see it on Creative Cloud. Is it not available?

I got Creative Cloud because it said using it to purchase Adobe Flash CS6 was a better deal, but I don't see it on Creative Cloud. Is it not available there?

If you go to the CC desktop app-->Apps; scroll down to FIND NEW APPS; on the right, select Previous Versions; click Install to the right of Flash, and you should see the following:
Which should allow you to select CS6.
Hope that solves it for you.

  • I have downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player, but it was installed to a "disk image".  I don't know what this is and I cannot see anything that requires Flash Player.  What am I doing wrong?

I have downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player, but it was installed to a "disk image".  I don't know what that is, but I cannot view anything that requires flash player.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help, but that didn't do any good either.  I have been double clicking from the download files, double clicking on the "install adobe flash player", closing the anti virus, closing Safari, watching the install progress and clicking finish.  It indicates that "flash player" is installed, but every time I try to view something requiring flash player, it tells me I must download it.  It shows up in the "system preference"  and from there I can make some changes, but it still won't let me view anything requiring "flash player".   It does not show up in my apps like Adobe Reader does.  It shows up in the "downloaded files" section of "Finder".  I'm getting really perplexed over my inability to get this right.

  • When I want to play a video, it asks me to download the latest Adobe Flash player, and the iPad won't do that.

When I want to play a video, it asks me to download the latest Adobe Flash player, and the iPad won't do that.

The iPad doesn't and never will support the Flash program. You will need to download and install a different browser like the aforementioned Skyfire. Photon and Puffin are also mentioned as browsers that support Flash. Or see if the place you're accessing that video from has an app.

  • I would appreciate information on how to download an updated Adobe Flash for my New Apple Ipad?

I have been unable to download a free upgrade for the Adobe Flash on my new Apple Ipad? Do I need to download through Cloud or just download as an upgrade on my Ipad? I apologize having to ask elementary questions but I am terribly Tech Handicapped. I have it on my net book but it would not work for my Ipad? I appreciate any information and all comments in relation to installing the proper download for my Ipad. I need this application but do not know which apps to select for the ipad?
I look. Forward to any assistance you may provide but please explain in simple terms or I will probably not understand the Tech talk:). I am a grandmother and barely getting by with all the new and wonderful technology. In fact, the only reason I purchased the Ipad, which I now enjoy more than my net book, is because I severely broke my right arm and wrist and cannot type. the touch pad and the easy use of my ipad has been a wonderful investment. I had no idea how enjoyable and easy to use, it was or I would have purchased it much sooner. I am now playing games and reading, even though I have a Kindle e reader. I never dreamed I would enjoy so many games. I am definitely hooked on my ipad. Now, if some of you Tech Savvy experts can help me, I will truly be grateful. I have found the best help comes from you. I have tried the support service but they do not talk my language, ha ha. BeforecI discovered you guys and learned you are a gold mine of information, I was unable to get the help I needed. I know I always get the best and most understandable help, without hearing the condemnation for being so uninformed. Now I am no longer embarrassed to ask for help!
    Thanks and Best Wishes,

Flash does not exist for iPad. Apples decision. any games or whatever must be downloaded as apps, which of course can be based on Adobe AIR/ Flash packager, but they must be self-contained apps, regardless.
