Using DW MX 2004 on old computer

Here is the situation: I work on a G4 and have used this
version of DreamWeaver 7 MX without issue for 3 years. My G5 is
malfunctioning so I fire up my old G4. Unfortunately, when I
attempt to use this full educational version, I get a message
stating that my 'Trial Period has Ended.' I also enter the serial
number which but no luck. As a kicker Adobe no longer supports this
version...go figure. Any help is greatly appreciated!

DMX2004 will run fine on a G4. Has this G4 ever had a trial
DW copy on it?
If not, then I am suspicious of your "full educational
version". If you are
sure of its authenticity, call Adobe support.

  • How do I access my iphoto library on time machine backup external drive using Lion, originally saved from old computer and system

how do I access my iphoto library on time machine backup external drive using Lion, originally saved off old computer and system.  It's not letting me open the folder???

Once again here's how to restore an iPhoto Library from Time Machine:

  • I have Time Machine that I used to back up my old computer. It was running snow leopard. My MacBook died, so I got a new one which is running Lion.  how can I restore the data from the time capsule to my new Mac?

In technical support, sometimes you have to make educated guesses. I'm sorry that you were offended.
iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.

  • My new computer will not let me use my photoshop.  My old computer does not have photoshop any more.

I am unable to use photoshop on my new computer because my old computer was not deactivated before photoshop was taken off.  I only have photoshop on one other computer and I need it to be on my new one.  How can I make this happen?

Contact customer support (by chat or phone); they can help you reset the activation count.

This a user forum.  Nothing can be done here.
You should be able to contack Adobe Support and get a roll back of the number of installs for each paid for license.  You should have two.
If you have no record of the download, the serial number or anything else, you may be in for a purchase!
    Good luck.

  • Heya, I purchased adope photoshop elements 8 years ago and had installed it to old computer, which is close to death, I am trying to work out how to reinstall to my new laptop but I dont have the disc anymore, after many house moves.. and I never even use

cant copy paste my Q so;...  omg this is killing me LOL

Download and install it from http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-7-8-9-downloads.html then use your serial number to activate it.
If you don't use it anymore on your old computer, deactivate it there before installing on the new one.

  • How can I get my old iPod onto my new computer without my old computer?

The hard drive on my old computer recently crashed and there was no way to recover anything from it. I was currently using iTunes 7 on that computer so everything was updated. I was using Windows XP on my old computer but I just bought a new one that has Vista. I have a lot of songs and pictures on my iPod and want to get them to my new computer. How can I do this if I don't have any computer authorized to my iPod without losing everything? Please help!

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
There are various programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
Tansee iPod Transfer Photo Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Use the backup of the old computer and copy the iTunes files to the new one.
However, since you are writing here, you probably didn't have a backup, so check out this user provided support document https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

Unless you have a backup copy or can use the drive from the old computer in an external enclosure, no.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; only apps, books (not audiobooks), music, and t.v. shows (not movies).  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.

  • Old computer broke down, didn´t synchronize the latest bookmarks

A few days ago my old computer broke down and I am currently using a spare computer for the time being. I used Firefox sync on my old computer and on the spare one before the old one crashed. Still the latest bookmarks from my old computer are now missing on the spare computer (it´s actually 4 or 5 months of bookmarks... so quite a lot is missing). I can´t access any data on my old computer so I tried to reinstall firefox and reconnect to the sync server but the latest bookmarks are still missing.
Is there any way to get the lost bookmarks back?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Hello,
Sorry to hear about the computer breaking down. Are you able to access the hard-drive of the old computer? Was it a Windows machine? If so, you can locate the bookmarks on the hard-drive of the machine, by following the below mentioned instructions.
    # Locate the profile folder of Firefox on the old hard-drive by following these instructions [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data|Location of profile data]]
    # In the bookmarkbackups directory, copy the bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD.json to your new machine on a different directory
    # Restore the bookmarks by following the instructions in this article [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer|Restore backups]]
    # This link from SUMO might also be helpful for you [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/961452 Copy and restore bookmarks]
If the hard-drive is not accessible, then it will be difficult to access the bookmarks, if the synch was not enabled. Do you remember when the last synch happened?
    Hope this helps.

  • HT201250 I use Time Machine to back up my entire computer with my external hard drive. I am getting a brand new iMac this month and was wondering what is the process of using this back up to restore my new computer exactly how my old computer was?

I use Time Machine to back up my entire computer with my external hard drive. I am getting a brand new iMac this month and was wondering what is the process of using this back up to restore my new computer exactly how my old computer was? I want to make sure I will still have various important files on my new computer, like my songs in iTunes, my photos in iPhoto, etc, etc. Thanks so much in advance!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
When you turn on the new iMac for the first time, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so connect the external disk and follow steps to restore all your files to your new iMac. Your new Mac will have the same settings and programs as your old computer.
In other cases, I would recommend to restore the whole backup without using Migration Assistant or Setup Assistant, but a Late 2012 iMac uses a special OS X build, so the OS X version that you're using on your old Mac won't work on the new one. • I am trying to import songs to my new macbook pro from my old computer using home sharing. Both computers say that home sharing is now on but neither show up in each other's library menu. I am logged on with the same apple id for both computers.

I am trying to import songs to my new macbook pro from my old computer using home sharing. Both computers say that home sharing is now on but neither show up in each other's library menu. I am logged on with the same apple id for both computers. and both are on a stable wireless connection

Logging into itunes store on each machine wth different Apple IDs is OK Autorising each others machines with the other Apple ID is OK. This is completley separate from Home Sharing
For Home Sharing to work you need to
File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share.
You need to select one of the two Apple IDs you are using and ENTER THIS ON BOTH MACHINES WHEN CREATING THE HOME SHARE.
    Home sharing will then work

  • My itunes is on an old computer.  So old that I can't update it and so Haven't used it in two years.  How can I move it to my new laptop and make sure this doesn't happen again?  Very frustrated that I've spend $$ but can't get my music.

My itunes is on an old computer.  So old that I can't update it and so Haven't used it in two years.  How can I move it to my new laptop and make sure this doesn't happen again?  Very frustrated that I've spend $$ but can't get my music.
I want so set up itunes on my laptop and make sure that I get all of my old music and any music shared from my sons' itunes accounts.  Do I have to set up itunes on my new laptop first and then use the same logins?  Really concerned about losing any music, etc.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • I have an old and new mac and used transfer manager to put the old mac on the new so that i have both users on one computer but now I can only log in as the new and as guest so cant access my old computer docs on this newer mac.  Help!

Hello I have just sold my old macbook and so transfered all my data to my newer macbook using transfer manager.  This allowed my to login on the newer computer under either the old or new username so I could access both computers' data on my newer computer.  Last night that worked but today I can only access my newer user and a guest user.  Where did my old user name and all the data go after the transfer?  Help please! I have to give the buyer the old computer today!
    Aminah

I am not familiar with "transfer manager." Did you perhaps use the Migration Assistant? What operating system is installed on your new computer?
If you look in your hard drive, in the Users folder, do you see a folder with the name from your user on your old computer?
    Best of luck.
