Using ECC as BI

Hello all,
We Have 2 SAP ERP Servers
ECC5 and ECC6
Can i use ECC 6 as BI server to Extract Data from ECC 5?
If so What are steps i need to do First.
waiting for suggestions.
With Regards
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
ECC6 suuports the BI in single server back up hence it is prefered to have ECC6 first then BI
and
This depends on the requirements and the dates you need to deliver the systems.
But the best approach would be to first upgrade to ECC6 and then implement BI.
If you first do BI, when you upgrade you need to check all the datasources and loading processes. And probably reload some things (depending on the data volume this could be an issue).
You can also start implementing BI during the upgrade process, working on ECC6 source system.
and
1. I heard that the IDES ECC6 installation includes BW/BI if you choose that installation option
2. but if you try to run it on the same client (800), you can't get the source data in BW/BI
3. so you have to create a new client (900) look at : Re: BI 7.0 On ECC 6.0 IDES
So I guess, that you could only see for example in BW/BI the 0CUSTOMER InfoObject, if you install BI_Cont as addOn in client 800?
Did I understand that right?
By calling SM59, there is below -> internal connections -> an RFC connection, which is called ecc6_ECC_04.
Could not that be the internal ECC4 to ECC6 connection for BW/BI source data, which internally (only one client 800) delivers the BI_CONT to BW/BI?
It seems, that all IDES systems (where BW/BI had been actived during installation) only need to install SAP NW 7.0 BI CONT ADDON 7.04. After that it seems that all infoObjects are automatically there and you can perfectly learn SAP BW/BI 7.
Look at that link: Can't find the standard infoobject/infocube in BW system

Marasa.

  • HTTP trigger script using ECC variable/Call sub flow - not working

    Hello all,
I am trying to http trigger script which will show the real time stats of the CSQs. The script is based on "Day of week" and Time of day" checking the queue time and will update the HTML doc to show as real time data. The scripts for various CSQs has multiple boolean variable (parameter, set to false by default) like "open/night/emergency/meeting" which can be set to open or close the queue by the supervisor depending on the situation. For ex, if a variable is set to True in application page for any of the Queue, I am trying to send that "true" value to the http trigger script, so that these can be shown real time.
    Steps tried:
    1. Tried using ECC variable - setting a ECC variable to True in the main script and getting that value in the http trigger script to a local variable, if found True, the display as "CSQ1 = OPEN", else "CSQ1 = CLOSED" ; but the script gave an error as attached (http1.png)
    2. Tried using Call sub flow - Like Holiday check, under the "Rest" branch of "Time of Day" - will check the queue and will get the value returned to the local variable - Failed and it shows an error as attached (http2.png)
As of now, I have completed the script with the logic of checking the logged in agents count in the CSQs and updating the Real time data. But it has some issues like, if an agent didnt logged out properly or if an agent is asked to login during OOH although the queue is closed, as per the logged in resource logic, the data is shown as OPEN.
Please share your thoughts on this and if you have come across such a script, kindly share as a knowledge share.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hardware requirements for SAP ERP 2005 using ECC 6.0

    Hello everyone,
i am already new and need information about the min. hardware requirements for a SAP ERP 2k5 System using ECC 6.0 with IDES 7.10.
I read the Master Guides about ERP, but i am not even more clever than before.
The OS is MS Windows 2k3 Server EE.
The last information i had from another one to this configuration is:
    1 dual-core cpu (? Ghz)
    4-6 GB RAM
    300 GB HDD
Does it fit? Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    IDES 7.10?!?
If it's an IDES system you want to set up, HDD space may be the bottleneck. It's sufficient for installation, but you may run out of disk space since note <a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1013391">1013391</a> states
    Hardware Requirement
                     MS-SQL  ORACLE   MaxDB   DB2 Win/Unix  AS/400
    DB size (GB):    160     220      220          160       280
Since IDES is for education and training purposes only the rest should be sufficient.
I'm running an ERP 6.0 IDES system (32 bit) on a single core, 3.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB System and 500 GB SAP/DB HDD with pretty good response time.

    Points always appreciated

  • Crystal Report Using ECC Data has Auth error in Infoview

We've created a Crystal report that successfully accesses ECC data from a function module in our Dev environment when the report is executed from within Crystal Designer.  When we try to execute the same report against the same development ECC system from within InfoView we get the following error:
ERROR: The Database Logon Information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.
The connection information is the same as it is in designer. We are able to successfully run Crystal Reports over BW data within InfoView. Any ideas about what might be wrong?
    Doug

    Ingo,
The consumers of the report do have ECC access for order and inventory management so licensing should not be an issue.
We were able to resolve the issue. The problem was with our version of SAP GUI on the BO Dev server.
We had to update our u201CServices.dllu201D and our u201CSAPLogonTree.xmlu201D file with an accurate version.  Once that was done, the report executed as expected in InfoView using LDAP.
    Thanks,
    Doug

  • How to Use ECC function Module

Hi Experts - We need to execute the function module in ECC and need to write data in Oracle table.
    We are using BODS 4.0.
How to use function module in data flow ? how it can work as a source ?
I just need some basic steps how to use function module as a source and do the transformation to target.
    Thanks
    R

    Hi Ashwani,
It is still not possible to use a FM as a source in DS.
You can use a FM in a transformation but you have to start from a file or table as a source and load into a target (a FM can not be an end point of a dataflow - as it is used in the transformation and each transformation requires a source and a target.
The scenario I described above was based on a situation where you have a source (flat file or table) and want to use a Function Module to transform your data and/or load the data in a transparant table in SAP.
Your scenario is different, as your source is not a table/ff but a FM.
In your case, I can see two scerio's:
    - Use an ABAP dataflow. Although I haven't got any experience with this I do believe this would be an option for your scenario. Please referer to the Data Services documentation on ABAP dataflows for further guidance.
    - As suggested earlier, you can create a bespoke (BW) Datasource based on a Function Module. Please refer to SAP help for creating a generic datasource:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
Depending on your scenario there might be a third option:
    - Use a SAP transparant table as a source. Create a transformation into the designated Oracle table. In the transformation call a FM which executes whatever logic you require. This solution will work if you have a table which produces the same number of records as your FM. If your function module produces more or less records (than there are in the transparant table), then this might become a bit tricky. It might work, but I have never tried it.
Instead of a transparant table you can also use a table join, obviously. Perhaps part of the complexity of your FM could be resolved by using a join and you can create a new simpler FM for the remaining logic?
    Good luck,
    Jan.

  • Segmentation using ECC Infoset

    Hi,
I want to  create a target group to differentiate employees based on Company code or sales organization
I need to create a datasource using infoset from  ECC.
i have used an infoset from ECC - /SAPQUERY/HR_ADM
and also assigned the function module in datasource
    CRM_MKTTG_PF_BP_TAB_TO_GUID.
I  created the attribute list but it does not give me any filter options and hence whatever filter options i give,it does not collect employees based on Company code in the segment builder.
    How can I achieve this?
    Regards
    Itty

    Hi Jushan,
To generate contacts in segmentation, you can use the standard function module CRM_MKTTG_PF_BP_TAB_TO_CP while creating the data source.
Also, a standard infoset CRM_MKTTG_BP_ORG is there to get the contacts.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Can you use ECC memory in a motherboard without ECC support

I am trying to help a friend from long distance and have limited knowledge about his system. The motherboard is a 845GLMS/GVMS series MS-6754 (v1.X) Micro ATX Mainboard.  He is wanting to upgrade the RAM and the manual says:
    Main Memory
Support four memory banks using two 168-pin unbuffered SDDRM DIMMs.
Max memory size is 2GB without ECC (1GB/slot).
Most everything I'm finding (at least with a low price) is ECC. Will ECC memory (obviously without the ECC working) function on that motherboard?

He needs to use non-ECC RAM, ECC is for server MB's. Where are you looking for RAM and what size & speed does he need, PC100 or PC133? What prices are you finding?

  • TU creation in EWM using ECC Shipment

    Hi All
Can someone help me with correct steps to create shipment in ECC which can create TU in EWM using standard IDoc interface?
I followed steps as per help.sap, integration between ECC & EWM is fine. I could see the shipment IDoc in EWM but it is getting failed. After debugging I have realized that I should not pack HUs into Container while creating shipment in ECC.
    But is that correct process?
    Thanks
    Sasidhar Gupta

    Hi Thiru
If have already followed SAP Help, please post the error what you are getting.
Create/update Shipment in ECC when TU was created/updated in EWM
Create TU via qRFC in EWM
Number range '' '/SCWM/SR_A' could not be read
Check these discussions also. Also you can check the below SAP documentation.
Define Default Values for IDoc Outbound
    Use
You can use this Customizing activity to define default values for IDoc outbound that are required for the integration with the Transportation (LE-TRA) component of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP ERP).
These master data values in SAP ERP are needed in the IDocs sent from EWM to SAP ERP. Without these values, SAP ERP does not accept the IDocs.
    Note:
These default values are only used during creation or deletion of shipments in ERP. They are not used when existing shipments are changed or updated.
    Requirements
You have made the following settings:
You have defined logical systems in Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Application Server -> IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE) -> Basic Settings -> Logical Systems -> Define Logical System. If you use EWM as an add-on application for ERP, you have set up two logical systems: SYSTEM_1 and SYSTEM_2.
If you use EWM as a component of SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM), you have set up one logical system in ERP for EWM and one logical system in EWM for ERP.
You have defined RFC destinations on the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools -> Administration -> Administration -> Network -> RFC Destinations. If you use EWM as an add-on application for ERP, you have set up an RFC destination as an internal connection called NONE.
If you use EWM as a component of SAP SCM, you have set up an RFC destination in ERP for EWM and one in EWM for ERP.
You have maintained distribution models in Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Maintain Distribution Model.
If you use EWM as an add-on application for ERP, you have set up an ALE distribution model to trigger the sending of the IDoc from EWM to ERP. The model view needs to be created for distribution of message type SHPMNT and SHIPPL from the logical system SYSTEM_1 to the logical system SYSTEM_2.

You have maintained ALE port definitions on the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools -> ALE -> ALE Administration -> Runtime Settings -> Port Maintenance.
If you use EWM as an add-on application for ERP, you have set up one port. This port is called V-NONE and it carries the RFC destination NONE.
If you use EWM as a component of SAP SCM, you have set up a port in ERP for EWM that carries the RFC destination for EWM, and one in EWM for ERP that carries the RFC destination for ERP.
You have maintained ALE partner profiles on the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools -> ALE -> ALE Administration -> Runtime Settings -> Partner Profiles. If you use EWM as an add-on application for ERP, you have set up two partner profiles of partner type LS (logical system).

    Activities
You can define default values for IDoc outbound in the following way:
    1. Enter the following data:
    Business system
    Message type
    Shipment type
      Note:
You need to define a separate shipment type in ERP. Use this shipment type for message type SHPMNT. The IDoc is only filled with this shipment type if transportation planning type is "B - Obligatory Internal Planning in EWM". This shipment type for transportation planning type B must be different from the shipment types that you use for transportation planning type "A - Obligatory External Planning in ERP". Otherwise, ERP sends an IDoc back to EWM, which is not intended within warehouse outbound processing with transportation planning in EWM.
    Transportation planning point
    Note:
You need to define a separate transportation planning point in ERP, for example "0002 - Dummy for Deletion". Use this transportation planning point for message type SHIPPL. The IDoc is only processed in ERP if you define this transportation planning point in ERP as a transportation planning point for external systems. For more information, see Customizing for ERP under Logistics Execution -> Transportation -> Interfaces -> External Transportation Planning Systems -> Maintain Transportation Planning Point for External Systems.
In this Customizing activity, you need to enter the logical system of EWM as the partner number of external transportation planning system, the partner type of the logical system (for example, LS), an external number range (for example, 01), and the controlling parameter for changes (for example, "00 - no restrictions for changes").
    2. Save your entries.

  • Availability information at CRM using ECC with APO?

    Dear Colleagues:
We are using availability information in CRM at ECC. Now we have a requirement to start using for some plant availability at SCM-GATP (APO).
We should do availability information at ECC and if the plant is using SCM do the availability information at SCM and if not, do it at ECC.
Does someone no if this is possible?
    Cecilia

    HI
Mania you can do this availability info up load from CRM to Apo SCM but you need to transport the Availability info from CRM to Apo or SCM with the help of basis ask u r basis to move availability info from crm to Apo or scm, while you can directly Delta Up load from CRM to ECC R3 Ac4 and You can make use the Availability info and you can read this at ECC.

  • Availability Check from CRM using ECC / Assembly Order

    Hi,
we're using an ATP Check from ECC to CRM 5.0. As described in the SAP Notes, assembly orders are not supported in this ATP scenario.
Does anybody have experience to overcome this (without implementing APO or creating the orders directly in ECC)? Any enhancements / work arounds?
    Thanks
    Anke

    Hello Anke,
you cannot have both, ATP check in CRM during order change/creation and in ERP when the order gets replicated to ERP-SD.
But when there is no ATP check used in the CRM at all (for the current item category), and the order gets saved in CRM and replicated to ERP, during this replication and order creation in the ERP-SD the regular ATP check in the SD order can run as usual, of course.
This means the scenario can be setup without ATP check in the CRM, but having assembly as usual in ERP-SD. Only the immediate information about the confirmed dates/quantities from the assembly order would be missing in the CRM order.

Thank you very much for the quick response.
Given that information we were able to look elsewhere for the issue.
The problem arose when we were trying to execute the 0RPM_PM01_Q0113 Risk/Reward query. We would get a "No Data" message.
We have now investigated the filtering variables and that has taken us to the OS_PRJ2 exit.
After reviewing the documentation for this exit, our thought now is that our problem is related to Roles.
    Thanks again!!

  • ATP check for CRM Orders using ECC is creating a replication problem

    Hi Guys,
I have created an order in CRM and it replicated to ECC,however the issue is I'm unable to change the order any more in CRM, message "Document is being distributed". I'm getting this issue after activating ATP check for CRM -ATP check is working perfectly.
Before this ATP check, the Order replication was working perfectly and i can do the changes to order in both systems.
In advance many thanks for your your help.
    Thanks and Regards
    SRIM

    hI,
    Thanks for your response,
There are no messages in the middleware (smq2 - q1), but this error only started occurring after I activated the ATP check.
I have also checked the incompletion log at ECC - document is completed.
Before this ATP check activation the order replication was working correct/y and i can do changes at both ECC and CRM. But now even if i change the order in ECC those changes are not getting replicated infact  queue is not getting generated.
BDOC is showing sent to receivers (not all confirmed)  BUS_TRANS_MSG.

  • Any chance I can use PC3200 (ECC) from my PC in my iMac?

I write 'my iMac' with faith, as I don't have one yet, but I'm getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger (and selling my powerbook to finance it). You see, I'm basically poor. I've got an open tab in this very browser for a 2gb kit of Corsair Value Select ($217). I've also considered a single gig stick (bringing me up to an unmatched 1.5gb). Then I had a crazy notion:
"My PC, which I hardly use any more due to the gruesome inferiority of XP to OS X, has 2x512mb PC3200 sticks in it... XP doesn't know what to do with anything more than 512!"
They are both ECC sticks, but my understanding is that ECC can work in non-ECC setups, but not vice versa. If you mobo requires ECC, you need ECC, but the ECC functionality can be not used and it'll work like non-ecc memory. Sorry if that wasn't clear, but I'm pretty sure my current mobo doesn't acknowledge or use ECC, yet my ECC ram is running fine. ECC stands for Error Correcting SOMETHING, btw. Servers often use it, runs a bit slower but more stably than non-ECC. Anyway, I've got two chips, a samsung and a crucial chip, and I'm hoping that IF they'll work at all, that one of them would 'match' whatever 512 chip Apple sends stock. Then I can get by with the iMac running on 1gb.
Am I a crazy cheap-skate? The other thing I considered slyly was 'Why not buy that 2gb kit and stick the spare 512 in the PC - then I can run BitTorrent, Google Earth AND a game at the same time on 1.5gb and stave off upgrading to an Intel iMac for another 6 months (ie. 2008?) because I also have 2gb in my iMac.'
    Thanks for your input.
    Alex
p.s. if anyone knows if the spanning hack has any chance to output to DVI, please let me know - or look at my other post - thanks.

    Alex,
    Apple says:
"Important: DIMMs with any of the following features are not supported in the computer: registers or buffers, PLLs, ECC, parity, or EDO RAM."
However, my understanding of the language "not supported" is that they might work, anyway, but if something goes wrong it's not Apple's fault.
With as many iMacs as are in use, there must be someone else who has tried ECC chips, if they are willing to own up to it:-)
