any help appreciated
Robert

Erick,
Please try following troubleshooting steps:
1. C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs
and select the catalog you are currently working in.
2. Rename the BreezeSession.dat file present in the catalog folder to BreezeSession_old.dat
3. Now relaunch Organizer and try adding people now.
Thanks,
Anwesha

  • Elements 13 - No New People Found In Your Selection

So frustrating to see that this bug is still present in the new version. Now it's even worse.
I try to add people tags to a photo and get the infamous "No New People Found In Your Selection". I was previously on PSE 11 and I was certain that this would be fixed in the new version.
    Nope. It's still here.
    But now it's even worse.
It starts a leak in the app that eventually consumes all available memory
    And this is an "Upgrade"???
The Organizer is an important part of this software and yet this issue has been around for too long.
Adobe, please correct this problem soon. This memory leak is BAD and brings the OS to it's knees.

  • "No new people found in your selection" problem

I am now getting a report of "no new people found in your selection" from Elements 11. This is happening despite having people in the images and when looking at individual photos, Elements seems to indicate that there is indeed a face there. What I am now missing is the capability of running facial analysis on a group of photos and identifying the faces "in bulk." This feature did work at one time but does not now.
All also note that when I get the boxes around faces on individual photos, Elements no longer suggests people for the faces.
Any ideas on how to get facial recognition to start working again?

Preferences are set: for People recognition to Analyze Photos for People Automatically.
I tried unchecking this and running people analysis manually. Neither works:1(

  • Facial recognition says "no new people found in your selection."; Do not have breezesession.dat file

This forum Re: People recognition problem on PSE 12 says to change the breezesession.dat file, but I don't have one. I need advice on how to proceed. I do not want to have to manually tag every photo in my catalog, but cannot scan multiple photos at a time.

  • Message "New files found in your watched folder".

I keep getting a message "New files found in your watched folder".  But it shows me old files. If I say I want to download them, it tells me it cannot.
    PE 11   Windows 7

Watch folders is a function of the Elements Organizer, it has nothing to do with the Editor half of the program.
Do you want to use Watched Folders? If not, disable them by going to File > Watch Folders, then uncheck the "Watch Folders and their Sub-Folders for New Files" option. If you want to use the option, try creating a new folder and set that up as the watched folder and place your images there. The Watch Folders option can get messed up if the folder has images already in it when it is set up.

  • Using Elements 10 with iPhoto

I have always used iPhoto 11  on my iMac for my photo editing and organising, but have decided to broaden my editing/organising opportunities by purchasing Elements 10, which I have just loaded successfully.
However, when I right click a photo in iPhoto 11 and select 'Edit in external editor' - although it opens up the Elements 10 workspace, the selected photo doesn't appear.
I've also tried changing in iPhoto's preferences (Advanced) to using Elements 10. Again, when editing is selected in iPhoto it opens up the Elements 10 workspace but not the photo.
Any idea what's going wrong here? An alternative is to drag & drop from iPhoto to Elements 10 editing workspace - which DOES work, but I shouldn't have to do that, should I ?

Thanks Barbara B, as usual very helpful.  From these screen shots can you tell if I have done this correctly as per your instructions ?  Is it best to store the jpegs only in the elements organizer? and keep the raw and XMP files on the hard drive or should they always be together?

  • Using elements 9 as external editor

Hi, I bought elements 9 today. I have all my pictures organized in aperture 3. I want to use elements as an external editor. I selected elements as the external editor in aperture 3, but when I try to edit a picture using the external editor via aperture 3, the image will not load into elements.
I get the welcome screen in elements, when I choose edit, the editor opens but no picture is loaded. I also tried to edit via elements used as external editor from aperture when I had elements open. What happens then is the exact same thing only difference is that elements opens again (so that I have to elements apps running at the same time)
Anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong.

You chose the wrong file in the PSE folder. This is about iphoto, but the problem is the same with aperture, lightroom, or any other external editor. See step 2 for directions to the right file:

  • How to Reconcile Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer's New People with Previous Versions.

On updating earlier version catalog (Photoshop Elements 10) to Version 12, the older version's "People" tags were not converted to new People (Faces) tags. Images with People tags but not tagged faces were also not converted. Now I have a mess of Family Tags and Group Tages representing people. Nearly all of the new (ver. 12) People groups, when clicked, respond that no media exist. Hours on telephone with Adobe Technicians has been useless. They cannot seem to relate to problem. It must not be in the manual from which they are reciting. At this point, number of crashes and quirks in Photoshop Elements 12 are making me rethink whether I want to stay with Adobe Products at all.

You simply need to create your stills with Photoshop Elements, save them in a suitable format (.jpg, .png, .tiff are all acceptable) then drag and drop them into your iMovie timeline.  You don't have to use iPhoto.

A few months ago, I purchased a new iMac. I recently created a movie using iMovie. Then I found out that iDVD is not included. So I have the problem that I want to burn a movie that I can play on my DVD player and watch on a television. I rang Applecare and was told that I need a program called BURN.
Is this correct? I can export the movie from iMovie in a m4v format, but I think I need to convert this to iso format before I can burn the disc.
I know there are programs like TOAST that will do this, but it is expensive.
I would be very grateful for any assistance.

Burn will not do what you want, and there is no real substutute for iDVD.
Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac?
Apple insists that the entire world has access to fast broadband (and are prepared to pay for the considerable bandwidth usage) and wants to distribute home movies to friends and relatives via download (iCloud, YouTube, Facebook, whatever) rather than mailing them a DVD. The fact that in reality not all users do, has so far had no effect on this policy. If you scream and shout loudly enough down the phone Apple may send you a free copy of iDVD. Stating that they would return their brand new Mac unless they received a copy of iDVD worked for some, but that is now said to have been withdrawn by Apple.
Also, you can complain bitterly via Apple’s Feedback link, perhaps suggesting that Apple could have provided a choice between burning DVDs and distributing home movies by other means. You may feel that Apple should not dictate how you destribute family videos or photos to distant relatives and friends, and should not assume that every user is prepared to pay for the excessive bandwidth usage charged by ISPs for huge downloads from the App Store:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
Whilst Macs with a Superdrive continue to be able to burn video DVDs, the software for so doing, iDVD, is no longer included in the iLife bundle that came with OS 10.7 Lion (which also omitted iWeb) or that comes with OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. And it is no longer included in the iLife 11 from the online Apple Store: http://www.apple.com/ilife/. Your only solution is to look on Amazon or eBay and try to get an older version that includes iDVD 7, i.e. iLife version 9 onwards. You should also do this if you plan to buy a new Mac anytime soon, as stocks of iLife that include iDVD will not be available for ever.
However, the vastly more expensive FCPX can burn a DVD without iDVD or DVD Studio Pro involvement, but lack the themes etc of iDVD. Also, of course, there is Roxio Toast, which is the best software for burning anything but again does not offer the flexibility of iDVD.
And if you think Microsoft are any better, their new Windows 8 operating system will not play DVDs, or burn them, unless customers buy an extra upgrade, the company has announced:  http://www.gizmag.com/windows-8-no-dvd-playback/22443/
In other words, computer manufacturers have declared optical media as dead, long before consumers are ready to stop using them, which is fine as long as they offered us a choice, but they won’t even do that. Flexibility and intuitive use of a computer seems to be a thing of the past.

Did you use migration assistant to copy over programs, documents, and settings? You can't do that with PSE. Elements is not a tidy package in accordance with the apple developer guidelines. The installer strews stuff all of your hard drive in place the migration assistant isn't programmed to look and you can never hope to find all h the bits. You must always install PSE from scratch on a new machine. By attempting to copy it you have made a lot of trouble for yourself.
You will need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
and then you can go around and manually remove what you can reach. Look in applications, your hard drive>library>application support>adobe, your username>library>preferences. In the user library also delete any saved application states for PSE.
Then you can reinstall from scratch.

What is your "Elements 2" - Photoshop Elements 2 or Premiere Elements 2? For now I will assume Premiere Elements 2 which had to be on some version of Windows.
What do you have from Premiere Elements 2 - project files (.prel) or exports to file formats such as .avi or .mpg or .mov?
Project files from Premiere Elements (any version) Windows cannot be used in Premiere Elements (any version) Mac.
Video files exported from Premiere Elements 2 with its QuickTime choice (.mov files) would be likely to open in Premiere Elements 13 Mac. The other Premiere Elements
2 choices of MPEG and Windows Media would be expected to need conversion to .mov or .mp4 before import into Premiere Elements 13.
In Premiere Elements 13 Mac, consider importing the files from wherever you save files in Mac to a project with the project's Expert workspace Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets. I would strongly encourage you to set the project preset manually (File Menu/New/Project) to match the properties of these source files before import rather than let the project do it manually for you based on the properties of the first video dragged to the Timeline.
Please supply more details so that we can fine tune the reply. Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

I have used it on several occasions but I cannot get it to run now.  When I open a photo using elements the Adobe box pops up saying that the programme has unexpectedley quit? can anyone help me please as I have several photos to edit before the end of this month. The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

  • How can I move actions from old computer using Elements 6 to new computer using Elements 12?

I downloaded some actions onto my old computer using Elements 6. I would like to move them to my new computer using Elements 12. How do I do that?

Does she have any photos in the iPhoto library on her new machine?
What version of iPhoto does she have?
The general answer is to trash the iPhoto library on the new computer (assuming it is empty) and drag the old iPhoto library to the pictures folder of the new machine and launch iPhoto letting it convert the library

Is the notifier part of the email program? Is it an independent program like poptray? If it is separate from Firefox, it really shouldn't matter which browser you are using. Unless the notification is within IE.
