Using email to send photos

In using Apple mail as the application for iphoto, every time I send to pc users (which is a lot) I get responses back asking me to resend as an attachment in jpeg form. I am doing that, but they say they can't save them or even right click and save them. Annoying for me. I am wondering if it is the persons email settings or do I have to do it THEIR way every time? I have looked at settings in my mail and iphoto, but its not on my end. Any solutions or suggestions besides telling them to get a Mac?
Thanks!

After the e-mail is composed go to the format menu and select plain text

I tried installing Iphoto it said it was downloaded successfully. I still get the error messafe, and can not open any photos of program,  any suggestions?

What version of iPhoto do you have on the Macbook and on the iMac? What systems are you running on the Macbook and on the iMac?
Does the message only refer to "a problem" or does it specify what it is?

  • IPhoto crashes when using Mail to send photos

    Hello All,
I hope that someone can help me with this issue. I am using MAIL to send photos via the iPhoto button. Everytime I try sending a photo using this method, the computer freezes up and I can't even forcequit, restart, open up AMON..nothing! Someone please explain to me why it is doing this and what possible solutions there are. I looked on the forums for a previously posted issue, and I wasn't able to find anything. Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Using Outlook to send photos

Aperture is setup to use Macmail to attach photos, is there a way to use Office Mac 2011 Outlook to do the same ?

Aperture can work with Mail, Entourage, Eudora and AOL.
There is a thread on the forum that describes how to hack the Entourage script for Outlook.
Or just use the Media Browser in Outlook.

  • PSE11: unable to customize note in email when sending photo attachments. [was: CT]

When sending email photo attachment in Windows version of PSE11, it won't let me write my own note in the email as it is supposed to.  How do I fix this?

Yes, that is a problem in that version of the Adobe Email client.
    A workaround is this:-
Open Notepad and type the text into that
Select all the text in Notepad and use Ctrl & C to copy it to the clipboard
Switch to the new mail message
Select all the text to be overwritten and use Ctrl & V to paste the contents of the clipboard over the old text.
I prefer switching to using Windows Live Mail.

  • IPhoto not launching email when sending photos

After I select photos to email in iPhoto, I hit the email icon and a new email screen doesnt pop up anymore. It used to launch it correctly w/ the photos attached but it has stopped. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Mary:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you checked iPhoto's preferences to make sure there's an email application selected? If there is and it's not working, close iPhoto and delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, located in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Next run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions. Then launch iPhoto and reset your preferences, including the email selection.

  • Repeating Email while sending photos from iphone

Each time I email a photo from my iphone, the recipients say they receive duplicate messages of the same email. Seems to happen if original message has a problem sending the first time; i.e. message "Photo Delivery Failed", exiting out of mail application before picture is sent, etc.
Is this common for the 2.0 iphone software?

    Hey Robin,
Make sure your iPhone is updated, just click the iPhone of the left side of iTunes, then click Check for updates on the Summary tab. More information about updating and restoring the iPhone available here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305744
If the iPhone is updated and you continue to see the issue you may want to try removing the email account and adding it again or restoring the iPhone.

  • I am having a problem sending photos by way of the share facility in iPhoto.  I have looked in accounts and i cloud is not listed as an option.  I removed MobileMe and reloaded it and that enabled me to send the photos but then the email didn't arrive

When I first tried to email photos from the share facility of iPhoto 9.2.3 I received a message something along the lines of server didn't recognise your id and password.  Read other peoples posts that suggested removing and reloading icloud in the iPhone account section.  No icloud in my accounts  just email and mobile me so I removed and reloaded mobile me.  After that I sent a test email to myself.  It arrived eventually but disappeared the instant I tried to open it.  Shut down my Macbook completely and then switched it on again with exactly the same results.  I am using OS X 10.7.4.  Can anyone tell me how to get icloud as an option for my iPhoto emails?  I use icloud for my normal emails.

I've resolved my problem now.  It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos.  Can't believe I missed that before.

  • Why is there more problems with sending photos in emails than before. I never had problems before.

I am having problems that I never used to have sending photos in a Yahoo email. I can't load as many photos and it takes a very long time to load. I always check my attacment by going to the sent file and when I download a photo it is way bigger than the screen and I have to zoom down to 20% in order to see the photo at it's intended size.

Larry HN~If you want to control the size of the photos select them in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder using the various size options available during export - then attach to your e-mail from the folder
I followed the above instructions and it worked very well. I found I could click on the photo in iphoto and drag it to the desktop as well and then attach to my email from the desktop. If I choose the export method I can choose a different size as there are 4 sizes to choose from and that seems to work well for Yahoo Mail altho I noticed that the larger size photo I chose the longer it took to download as an attachment in a Yahoo email.

  • Why can't I send photos using iphoto

I have tried using iphoto to send photos but no luck. I keep getting a message that the recipent hasn't gotten mail, make sure the address is correct. Of course its correct! what now.

    Hello;
I believe I have solved this issue... as I was having the exact same issue.  There where 4 little letters missing in the outgoing server.
In the outgoing mail server should read like this... smtp.mail.me.com
    And it worked for me.

  • Iphoto won't send photo

Using iPhoto to send photos and the status bar completes and gives a message that 1 photo has been sent.  The photo NEVER arrives.  I've been on support calls with Apple, but no resolution.  The email address I'm sending from works fine in my mac email, but not in iphoto.  I've tried all of the possible outgoing mail ports but nothing seems to fix the problem.

in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
    OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

  • Where are email templates in Photo that allow varying # of photos from one to ten previously in iPhoto?

iPhoto had a preference to use iPhoto to send photos or regular email.  In iPhoto preference, I used to summarize photos into an email template that allowed for a varying number of photos from one to ten to send off to participants as a remembrance.  The number of photos in each template was not set with fixed placeholders but would adjust and size to the number of photos selected for the email card.  Most "cards" were plain to meet a variety of needs and had place and style for headline, a sub-head, and either photo captions or a short text box to summarize the remembrance to be shared.  It was a quick way to summarize and share a set of photos in a multi-photo page via email. No printing required. Many friends were glad to receive these "cards" and even forwarded them to relatives overseas to share. Unfortunately, when Apple quit supporting iPhoto, the photos were blurry  no matter what photo size was selected.
The selections in Photo appear to be text centric with # photos fixed at one, three or eight.  If there are more that the fixed number, on the template, the photos are dropped (not shown).  If there are fewer photos than template, the placeholders cannot be eliminated.  Then tons of space for text.  What are my options now?

Each time you use iTunes to sync photos from a computer, it sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current settings/selections on the Photos page of iTunes. For example, if you have previously selected 2 folders or albums to sync from the computer and want to add a 3rd, you need to select all 3 before you sync. That will add the 3rd folder/album and will also add any new photos that are on the computer in the original 2 albums. It really isn't what I would think of as a sync since it is one-way -- it will move photos from the computer to the phone but will not move in the other direction or have any other affect on the photos on the computer. It is a sync in the sense that it will keep the selected folders on the phone in sync with those folders/albums on the computer (i.e., if you add to or delete from the selected folders/albums on the computer then the same changes will be made to the phone).

    Hi, ireland a.
I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device.  If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.
iOS: Force an app to close
Once these steps are processed, attempt to send the photo again.

The problem is with the new operating system  and sending photo via email when used in my iPad.
From photo I selected 3 photos to send via email. I choose the upload key and choose to send by email. Typing text on the email is very slow. This is solved by saving the email as a draft and opening the email again from mail.
Can you amend he system to allow emails to be sent from photo as previously.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"
