We are doing our taxes and using Excel on new Mac. We lost a tab within a file! Hours of work. Anyway to find this tab? Also, how to we find the trash to check in there? Thanks so much!

If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. Hey there is one way but ur itouch has to be ios5 and must have i cloud.
if u have it go to www.icloud.com and enter your icloud email and password then go to find my iphone.
if the user is connected to the internet it will track or it will say offline then you can even lock your ipod touch. -
I don't know what more details to offer. The browser crashed, all my open tabs were lost, and when I restarted Firefox, it did not give me the option of restoring the tabs. I really want them back. Is there any way to roll back and recover them?
That gripes me to no end, as well. You might think Mozilla could think this one through, at least to the point of realizing there should be a manual means to recover open tabs NOT restored automatically after a routine FireFox crash.
And if Mozilla cannot stabilize FireFox, it will keep losing users back to IE.
The epidemic of crashes seemed to begin when FireFox "improved" itself with the idea of running 3rd party plugins in a "container", which is still far from reliable. I must run SysInternals Process Explorer at least once per Windows session to keep FireFox from destroying itself.
Aside from FireFox being so unstable, Mozilla should show some concern for users and make the manual restore option very plain from the UI-- such as "RESTORE OPEN TABS LOST SINCE THE LAST (*&&!!! FIREFOX CRASH"
Presumably-- and that may presume too much-- Mozilla leaves the open tabs "log" in place during each update. If that record of open tabs remains untouched from update to update, then why does FireFox screw up, update after update, and routinely fail to recover all tabs?
You might think someone at Mozilla would realize something is wrong. I have let Mozilla "phone home" after each crash, and yet the problem continues. -

If you did not enable Find My iPhone on your missing device
If you did not enable Find My iPhone before it was lost or stolen, you can't use it to locate or protect your device, but you can still follow these steps:
Change your iCloud password to ensure that no one else can use your device to delete or make changes to your iCloud data.
Report your lost or stolen device to local law enforcement and your wireless carrier. Apple doesn't track or flag lost or stolen products, but you can use My Support Profile (supportprofile.apple.com) to find a list of serial numbers for products that you've purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

As the subject header states, I purchased new mac, but lost my serial number and no longer have access to registered email. I had purchased the Creative Suite Web and Design C6 version. Support said they can only forward my lost serial number to the registered email. Since she was without effective tools, she recommended I post something on the forums for support. Anyone have the ability to get me back to using my suite?

PhilipOnly the person(s) you spoke to have the ability to provide you with the serial number. People here can merely suggest where to look for it. If you registered your software when you installed it originally then you should be able to find your serial number stored in your Adobe account online in the Products section.
You might want to try updating your information in your account if the email is the only thing holding back from getting the info sent to you. -

What software can I use on my new Mac that no longer supports "AppleWorks"? To easily transfer my database for mailmerge.
Two thoughts:
(1) It is possible that your Adobe software was the result of belonging to a now-discontinued Adobe Print Service Provider program where for a certain annual membership fee, print service providers were provided with (a) both a Windows and Macintosh license to the Adobe print-oriented software products (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat) and (b) special direct product support as well as the ability to put your name on Adobe's website as a member of this program. The program ended over a year ago if I remember correctly.
(2) You may wish to contact Adobe Customer Support (not Technical Support) and see if they can track down any and all licenses associated with your company. If you have the names of the former employees who worked with this software, it would be helpful. Likewise, if you were a member of the discontinued Adobe Print Service Provider program, you may have some options for upgrading/updating the software you have.
Unfortunately, you cannot get any more definitive information about your situation on these forums.

If you're going to use it only with Macs, use Mac OS Extended (Journaled). It's the fastest filesystem to use on Macs.
If you're going to use it with PCs and Macs, use exFAT or FAT. I recommend exFAT because it hasn't got limitations as FAT and it's faster, but you need Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later to use it on PCs -

I just received my new Mac Mini and want to migrate files from my Time Machine. I assume the old OS is on Time machine and I don't want it to supersede the new Yosemite OS. Do I have to Do anything special?
Using Migrations Assistant will only move the data and other things over, it will not bring over a previous version of the Os since the 2014 model can run anything earlier than Yosemite.

Both my husband and I have our MacBook Pros backed up to Time Machine. I have a new MacBook Pro and want to download my files, etc. from Time Machine to my new Mac. I do I ensure that Time Machine downloads only MY files to my new Mac, and not my husband's files?

Multitasking appears after only one click
Multitasking bar appears with just one click. Sometimes pushing Home Button does nothing and must be pushed again once. Sometimes Camera Button appears after touching Home Button only once.
