Using Exchange Mailbox Distribution
All;
Our Exchange setup covers two data centers on two separate AD Sites.
I would like to use the Automatic Mailbox Distribution but with the distinction that;
new mailbox request are all processed by our access center group.
mailboxes could be created at either site depending on user location.
I thought about creating database scopes, but because the same team creates all of them, the scopes will have to be change at run-time based on the user location in the request form...
Any other ideas will be appreciated.

If you have one group doing all mailbox creation, you won't get automatic creation to rely on user location. We use a script for creating mailboxes on the next logical server. You could do the same thing, but with logic that took into consideration
the user location.

How can I block all other mail account just to only use the exchange mailbox of our company? This is to prevent the user to setup his on company iPhone.
I don't know if I'm asking this all in a way that can be understood? Thanks ED3K, however that part I do understand (in the link you provided!)
What I need to know is "how" I can separate or rather create another Apple ID for my son-who is currently using "my Apple ID?" If there is a way to let him keep "all" his info on his phone (eg-contacts, music, app's, etc.) without doing a "reset?') Somehow I need to go into his phone's setting-create a new Apple ID and possibly a new password so he can still use our combined iCloud & Itunes account?
Also then letting me take back my Apple ID & password, but again allowing us (my son and I) to use the same iCloud & Itunes account? Does that make more sense??? I'm sincerely trying to get this cleared up once and for all----just need guidance from someone who has a true understanding of the whole Apple iCloud/Itunes system!
Thanks again for "anyone" that can help me!!! -
Hi,
I am planning to develop an application to use EWS managed API streaming notification for listening the new email event of a shared mailbox. Will it will work or not? I knew it works for a personal mailbox, where the authentication of EWS can be performed
with the associated Active directory account. For the shared mailbox in Exchange Server, is there such an Active Directory account associated?
Thanks,
Richard>> Are you saying that if an Active Directory account has the access to a shared mailbox, and then this account can be used for creating the Streaming subscription for that mailbox
Yes that's correct (try it yourself with the EWSEditor)
>> In other words, the way how Exchange Server works is that the new messages like new emails are automatically sending to all of the AD accounts which have the access to a mailbox.
Not sure what you mean by this ? A Shared a Mailbox is just like any other Exchange Mailbox if you have rights to the Folder then you can create a subscription against it. There is no automation involved.

Is it supported to connect Exchange 2013 Mailbox using Exchange 2010 CAS in Co-existence?
Hi Team,
I am in the phase of upgrading Exchange 2010 to 2013, and introduced 4 MBX and 2 CAS of 2013 servers in co-existence.
Only one production mailbox of 2010 moved to 2013. The owa of the mailbox moved to 2013, is working OK internally coz only internally configured, but when I configure outlook using 2010 settings, it got configured but when I open outlook it doesn't
open and throws an error of some "cannot open set of folders".
Is it supported to connect Exchange 2013 Mailbox using Exchange 2010 CAS in Co-existence? because I havnt configured 2013 CAS servers yet.
Kindly share some KB or tip. Any help is appreciated. Thank You.

Use Different mailbox or same mailbox if setup two accepted domains in one Exchange Server 2010
Hi,
I want to know if I setup two accepted domain in one Exchange Server 2010, will it have another mailbox or use same mailbox?Hi,
Based on my knowledge, to add a new name in the accepted domain list is to add a SMTP address suffix for the mailboxes. Thus, it uses the same mailbox if you setup two accepted domain in one Exchange Server 2010.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.
Thanks,

Core roles installed on one virtual server for roughly 200-300 mailboxes using Exchange 2010?
For a customer who is looking at keeping costs down, they are wondering whether setting up a virtualized Exchange 2010 server with all the core roles installed would be possible. So the mailbox, CAS and hub all on one virtual slice.
The customer has around 200-300 mailboxes.
I know that its hard to give a guess for sizing, but I was wondering if a 4 core, 16 GB RAM build on Server 2012 would be sufficient, with the storage obvioulsy being SAN. I know this is dependant upon mailbox size and usage, but I don't have those
numbers unfortunately. Would the 4/16 build be sufficient? Too much?
Any further information around this would be great. Thanks.Hello,
I recommend you use Exchange 2010 Server Role Requirements Calculator to design your environment.

Disconnecting Exchange Mailbox Using AD Adapter
Has anyone disconnected Exchange Mailbox from the user using the AD adapter? We would like to understand what Sun's official stance is in doing this.
Could we disconnect by simply setting the following attributes to NULL or ""?
1. homeMTA
2. homeMDB
3. msExchangeHomerServerName
We do not wish to delete an Exchange Mailbox, simply disconnect (equivalent to disable of mailbox)

False Signature is chosen, when i use multiple exchange mailboxes in Outlook 2010
Hi,
My Problem:
A user has his own Exchange mailbox and an additional exchange mailbox with full access permissions connected in Outlook 2010. I have made different signatures for every Mailbox.
Mailbox A is working properly. Sending and answering / forwarding works correctly with signature A.
When i send a mail with mailbox B, outlook uses signature B.
When i ANSWER a mail with mailbox B, outlook uses signature A.
The "from" button is highlighted on mailbox B. When i choose mailbox B in the from button manually, it works .....
Any idea?
Regards,
DaveHi,
I need to confirm one thing first, did you add Mailbox B as an additional Mailbox, or a second Account in E-mail list?

Automatic Mailbox Distribution problem after Creating New AD Site
We redesigned our Active Directory Sites a little while ago. We moved the subnets and servers from the old sites to the new sites. We haven't removed the old sites yet, but that will happen soon. We haven't noticed any issues with the new
sites except for one weird issue and that is that Automatic Mailbox Distribution no longer works, in fact if you don't specify a database with the enable-mailbox (or new-mailbox) commands it will fail with an error that load balancing failed to find a valid
mailbox.
The problem, from the output of an enable-mailbox, command appears to be a site problem (from the fact that the automatic mailbox distribution discards sites that are not in the same site as the user). The verbose output has the command checking the
old site even though the server is in the new site. I've already checked the databases and none of them have the IsExcludedFromProvisioning or IsSuspendedFromProvisioning properties set to TRUE
My question is how do I make the databases show up as in the new site rather than the old site?
Any and all help with this issue is appreciated.

From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:
By default, all online and healthy mailbox databases on Exchange 2010 servers in the local Active Directory site can be chosen by automatic mailbox distribution to store a new or moved mailbox. Mailbox databases in other AD site can't be chosen by automatic
mailbox distribution to store a new or moved mailbox.
What's more, I recommend you use the following cmdlet to enable mailbox and check the result.
Enable-Mailbox -Identity xxx -Database xxx
Hope it helps.

Automatic mailbox distribution
When our Exchange environment was setup a few years ago, we created one database per internal company. We have a script which creates mailboxes for new employees for primary company and in the script we specified the database to avoid the new accounts
from randomly being placed in the other company databases.
I need smaller databases to make recovery easier, so I've created additional databases on a separate local LUN. Our primary database LUN has 96GB/835GB free, and the secondary LUN has 632GB/835GB free. This is after moving about 100 mailboxes to another
db on the secondary LUN but without cleaning up the whitespace on the primary db.
While researching something else yesterday, I see that Exchange 2010 has auto mailbox provisioning, but it seems as if it will only auto provision if the mailbox is created without specifying the mailbox name, or when performing a local move request without
specifying the destination filename. I have now excluded the non-primary company databases from provisioning.
Would the easiest way to auto provision all the mailboxes for the primary company be to perform a new local move request for some/all of the included mailboxes without specifying the target mailbox and then consider an offline defrag?
Thanks,
JimHi Jim,
From your description, I would like to clarify the following things:
1. If you don't specify the target mailbox, it will auto provision all the mailboxes.
2. If you just want to move mailboxes, I recommend you use Get-Mailbox instead of using Get-Recipient. The second one will get all the mailboxes, distribution groups, mail contacts, not only the mailboxes.
Hope my clarification is helpful.
Best regards,
Amy Wang

Sending email using Exchange 2013 defined email addresses not the account email address.
Currently we are using exchange 2013. Let's say a user has a mailbox account defined that has a default email reply address of [email protected] Now I define additional email address for the same account. When the user tries to send an email he can only send from
the default email address. Is it possible to send from a defined email anndress and not the default account email address?
Best Regards
Best RegardsNot natively with Exchange.
You will need 3rd party software if you want to have only one mailbox and the ability to send as any of the proxy addresses associated with it

Not sure if Exchange 2013 is supported with it yet

How do I setup shared Exchange mailbox with Mail (Yosemite)?
Hello,
we use Office 365 hosting for our mails. Setting up my default Exchange account is no problem at all, just provide e-Mail address, password and let auto discover finish the rest through System Preferences -> Internet accounts.
But I also need to setup two shared Exchange mailboxes. If I setup the e-mail address of the shared mailbox. I tried to set it up as follows:
System Preferences -> Internet Accounts -> Add Exchange Account
Name: Shared Mailbox
Email Address: [email protected]
Password <own AD password>
As expected: Internet Accounts couldn't log in to the Exchange server "autodiscover-s.outlook.com". Make sure the email address and password you entered are correct. Then, enter your user name and click Continue.

So to add an additional account to access a different mailbox on the Exchange sever with the same credentials as the personal mailbox is apparently no option any more. On the other hand I haven't found any option to add according folders from other mail address inboxes to my personal account in any of the Preferences from Mail (Yosemite, 8.1) or any menu item, that would allow me to add the inboxes of other shared Exchange server mail boxes I have access to.
The same is true for Mail (iOS 8.1.2), thus I have not found a solution to configure the shared mailboxes on my iOS devices either.
Trying to setup an "Add Other Account" using IMAP did not succeed either. It always uses my personal mailbox, because I only have my personal user to access the shared mailbox and downloads my personal inbox instead of the one of the shared mailbox.
Do I really have to fall back to Outlook 2011 Mac to be able to use this feature and miss out on all the hands off features from Yosemite?i too use office 365 shared mailboxes and it took me a long time to work out to add them to my ios mail app , this worked for me :
start setting up a normal exchange account , put your shared email address in the username and you main email account password.
it will fail to do the auto-discover thing , but when you click on continue it eil allow you to manually enter the details :
Name : < whatever>
email : <your shared email a/c address i.e [email protected] >
description : <whatever>
incoming mail
Host name : outlook.office365.com
username : <your main email address / shared i.e [email protected]/myshared >
password : < your main account password >
outgoing mail server:
SMTP : smtp.office365.com
username : <your mail email i.e. [email protected] >
password < your main account password >
use ssl <YES>
authentication : Password
server port 587
this worked fine on every IOS device i own, but somehow it doesn't work with my Yosemite mail , so if anybody can help with Yosemite mail it would be much appreciated.

Hello all,
We migrated our Exchange server from 2003 to 2010. After the mailbox move requests were finished we had one that was stuck. We basically skipped it as we had a lot of other things to finish over the weekend. Here we are a year later, the old exchange server
is gone and so is an old DC. I am receiving an error every four minutes in event viewer.
The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error.
Request GUID: '3e46b7cb-2ac0-42c1-98e8-57517a19ee40'
Database GUID: '5c6c573b-4f45-4ce3-b296-11cf69c2e2b6'
Error: Unable to find 'OLD Domain Controller' computer information in domain controller 'OLD Domain Controller' to perform the suitability check. Verify the fully qualified domain name..
I have checked in EMC for move requests. None are listed. I have checked the DCs listed in EMC properties. Old DC is not listed.
I also ran these commands in shell to attempt to cancel the stuck request.
Get-MoveRequest -MoveStatus Completed;Pending;InProgress;Failed;CompletedWithWarning;Suspended;Queued;CompletionWithProgress : Remove-MoveRequest
NO changes. Still throwing error. Any suggestions? I also tried using the guid and shell to look at the move request. Systems replies no such request.Hello,
Please try to restart iis services to check the result.
If the issue persists, I recommend you ping you DC server on your exchange server to check if your exchange server can communicate with your DC server.
If there are other DCs, please try to use set-adserversettings cmdlet to specify a DC for your exchange server.
Set-AdServerSettings
