Using Faces to find photos with multiple people

I'm new to Aperture and I'm eager to learn how to make it work. One of the tasks I often need to do is find photos that have two people in it - me and my sister, for example. How can I use Faces to search my library in this way?
Thank you!

Depending on your level of Aperture knowledge another way to create what TD suggests is to shift click both the required Faces in the Library> Faces window, then drag the two selected faces left into the Library pane, Aperture will create a Smart Album for you, then select the Search icon for the new smart album and select "All" as default is "Any" (this param is near top left hand corner).

I have lightroom 5.7. Now I have apple TV to connect my Mac to the TV scree. I wish to do a slide show on the TV. However, on the Mac, using ITunes to share photos with the TV, I cannot locate all photo files. What is the best way to save the slide show and put it where the Mac sharing can find it? So far, I made on one folder in Lightroom, put some photos there and I found them easily. Can this be done with a slide show? Please help quickly! Also worried that the photos I put on the new folder are hard to find afterwards, when the show is done. Where do they go when I delete from from the new folder?I am not alone

Not that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

  • Using Spotlight to find photos named in iPhoto

I have iPhoto 4 but am upgrading to 6 soon. Reading about how iPhoto organizes photos has been very helpful. I think I can get used to having to use iPhoto to manage my photos (how Windows of it!), although I do not like the idea of a photo having a different name in iPhoto than in the Finder. For instance, I use Spotlight a lot, but it does not seem to find the names of photos in iPhoto. Is there a way to use Spotlight to find photos in iPhoto?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Spotlight will not find photos outside of the Search in the iPhoto Window. It doesn't index the library6.iphoto file. So, titles comments and keywords etc are not indexed.
I think I can get used to having to use iPhoto to manage my photos (how Windows of it!),
You don't have to use iPhoto you know. But if you do, finding your pic files is very easy. There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
Rolls in the iPhoto Window correspond exactly with the Roll Folders in the Originals Folder in the iPhoto Library Folder. You can move photos between Rolls, you can rename rolls, edit them, create them, as long as you do it via the iPhoto Window. Check out the Info Pane (wee 'i', lower left) the name and date fields are editable. Edit a Roll Name using the Info Pane, the Roll Folder in iPhoto Library Folder/Originals will also have the new name.
although I do not like the idea of a photo having a different name in iPhoto than in the Finder.
iPhoto is a photo organiser, not a file organiser. If you're concerned with file names, stick to the Finder. Or name the files before importing them to iPhoto. Other than that, find them visually, or by date, comment, title in the iPhoto Window.

  • Unable to share files when in a IM convo with multiple people Lync 2013

    Hello,
I'm in the middle of a migration from lync server 2010 to lync server 2013. The users I have migrated over to lync 2013 are not able to send/share attachments when in a convo with multiple people.
However, users can send/share files when IM'ing with individual people.
I've been researching this issue for quite some time but still having a problem pinpointing  the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Did the issue also happen between users who still in Lync server 2010 pool?
Did the issue happen internal or external?
Please double check if MCU on Lync 2013 FE server works well, when two participants are connected, the session is essentially peer-to-peer. When three or more participants are connected, the Sharing feature depends on the Front End Server Multi Point Control
Unit (MCU) to provide the sharing stream to all parties.

    Hi
Is there a way of using powershell to find out how many people are using the on-prem SkyDrive?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use PowerShell to find out the users who use the on premise SkyDrive.
As this is the forum for SharePoint Server, I recommend you post your question to the forum for PowerShell or SkyDrive.

  • Using the opmn:ormi protocol with multiple nodes

    Hi
If I use the opmn:ormi protocol with multiple nodes, will it load balance between the nodes or will it simply try to connect to the first node and if it can't it will connect to the second node?.
Instead of specifying multiple nodes can I set the host to point to a load balancer?
    Which solution is best?

  • Can I Turn off iMessage in a group text with multiple people with different devices? There's 1 person in the group text that doesn't use iPhone anymore and they can't see any messages that are sent unless we send as regular text individually.

Is there a way to turn off iMessage for a group text that includes multiple people with different non-apple devices? When a message is sent, only the iPhone users can see the iMessage. Those without them cannot see the texts unless we send individual Text Messages or turn off iMessage completely.

  • Search for photos with multiple keywords

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to search for photos that have multiple keywords.   When selecting multiple keywords in a Bridge search the default behavior is to find photos that have any of the keywords rather than all of the keyword.  In other words I want to do an AND keyboard rather than an OR search.

You should be able to do so in the find menu of Bridge (Edit/Find or cmd+F)
With the plus sign you can add an extra (and) keyword to it.
A shortcut may be to first find one keyword and then use the filter panel
keyword section and select the other wished keywords by putting a checkmark
in front, only the selected files will show in the content window.
In other words I want to do an AND keyboard rather than an OR search.

  • Using a seagate external drive with multiple macs

i got a 1TB seagate external hard drive for backup and transfer purposes... it had a little program to help set it up and i set it up for use with mac and pc ( only onther option was stricty this computer.) it works on my computer and a pc but when i tried transfering files from another older mac i have it showed that i could only read on that computer...
how can i get it to work with multiple macs...?

I have the oldest macbook (1.83. 2 gigs ram, 60 gig internal hard drive)
I have all my logic content on my external maxtor firewire 400 drive (usb 2.0 is actually faster than firewire 400) and everything is fine. the good thing is if your external drive has 7200rpm, but the ones with 5600rpm should do as well.
Once you drag your apple loops to logic from your external drive, logic will remember for the next visit. And when you are opening a project which is on the external drive , just find it with logic finder and all should be fine.

  • Using LR CC/LR Mobile with multiple computers

Is there a way to see files synced with LR CC on my iMac using LR CC on my MacBook, the same way I can see them using LR Mobile on my iPad/iPhone?
My iMac has my main library in a RAID array, but I take my laptop everywhere, and would like the ability to do more than the basic sort and organise that Lightroom on the Web allows me, using the same smart previews that my mobile devices can access.
Currently I can do more editing on my iPad than I can on my MacBook, and that can't be correct...
Is there any possibility for this?
Bonus points if I can add raw files back in, but I can't see how that would work.

That's pretty well correct. I agree with you though - one of my first questions was whether I might be able to run LrMobile on my laptop.
One thing you may not have noticed is that on your laptop you can add new files to your main catalogue by dragging and dropping into the LrWeb browser window. The originals are uploaded and will appear in your synced catalogue. You can also download a large JPEG by going into an image's comments pane on the right and on the Photo Info tab is a "Download large JPEG" button. Now, put these together and you can download the large JPEG, work on it and save your changes, then upload it by dragging and dropping into the browser.
The external drive suggestion might be more viable if you take the catalogue and smart previews for images you might need (don't worry about the regular previews). I want access to large numbers of pictures when I go away for a period. So I have a smart collection to find photos that should have smart previews - the criteria are images that don't have smart previews and are recent or >3 stars or from the area where I'm planning to travel etc. I'll then make smart previews of anything that shows up in the SC. When this shows zero, I know I have all the pictures I may need during the trip and will be able to do things like send out pictures, research locations, copy metadata etc.

  • How to Edit with Multiple People - HELP

We used to be a small, 1-guy editing operation. But now we are huge (joke) and have 3 guys doing editing on an ongoing kids program.
I need some help with how to effectively edit the same program with 3 different people editing.
I assume that it's impossible for all 3 editors to edit the same project file simultaneously, right?  That would be ideal as long as each person is working on a different scene, but even then, I'm sure it would introduce all kinds of problems.
So I'm left pondering the best way to edit one large program (1-hour in final length) between multiple people.  The best method I've come up with to this point is to split my project up into 5 individual PP projects broken down by general scene categories.
That way each person can work on the "same" project/episode, but yet be working off of separate files, thus avoiding syncing problems.
But this only seems like a bandaide to our situation, especially if we bring on a couple more editors in the future.
Any suggestions on working on the same project/episode at the same time between multiple people?

There was a recent thread on similar issues.  I don't have this situation (one man shop), but one aspect of the "import sequences" to a master gets my attention.  I was starting to do this for my own projects (e.g. a season's worth of ball games where you want to do individual gamnes as well as a highlight of the season).  One project for it all gets rather complicated, and it seemed simple to import key sequences into another project.  But...
    A) This is not a dynamic link, but an import.  The whole project (or whole sequence(s) your choice) come in, inside a new bin.  changes in the other sequence are not updated in the master, so you need to be finished in the imported sequence - or be prepared to import again and redo any transition work.
    B) When you import, even though all the clips are from a shared pool, Premiere creates new instances in the imported bin.  Even if you offline and relink (so you don't literally need multiple clips on disk), they are still multiple instances in the bins.  As long as you don't plan on using work on clips in other sequences/projects, it really won't matter.  But, for example, if editor A adds markers to Clip 1 in their project, and you import their project to the master project, Clip 1 in editor B's project imported to the master will not hve the marker set by editor A,
All logical really, but it limits this as a workaround to making Premiere work as a shared editor.

  • Sharing Photos with multiple users

We(our family) have 3 users plus the administrator for this computer. How do we share an iPhoto library among all of the users? We would like to store all of our photos on the external hard drive. Currently we find ourselves switching back and forth between users to find photos.
    We are using iPhoto 6.0.6(322)
    HELP!
Please tell me there is a better way. We have lots of photos.

If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc. then:
    Quit iPhoto in all accounts
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to an external HD set to ignore permissions.
In each account in turn: Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue, select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new library location. From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
    Regards
    TD

  • How to share photos with multiple iPads

I am looking to share my photos with other family members who have iPads. How can I "publish" photos that will sync to multiple devices over WiFi?  In other words, I want to push photos of my children to their grandparents (as simple as possible for the grandparents)

Wifi will only work if they are al on the same wireless network.  An easier solution might be dropbox.  You can post your pictures there, share the link with anyone who you want to see the pictures, and they can bring them onto their machines.  This will work with family members who do not have pads, on any device that can acccess the web.
I believe you can set up an account for free.
