Using FaceTime with comcast

A friend is trying to use FaceTime for the first time and he has Comcast as his ISP.  FaceTime launches just fine and the video works.  But the connection stalls then times out.  Email and the internet work fine.  His ISP is Comcast.   Does anyone know if Comcast blocks ports that FaceTime needs?

No it does not block ports. Seems more like a speed issue with the ISP
