Using FCP X to record Skype type conversations?

I've got a series of conversations I have to record for a project.  I'm just wondering if there is a way I could set up FCP X to record a Skype conversation?  Just the audio.
I also use Logic Audio all the time, perhaps I could use Logic?
If it's possible I have no idea what the protocol might be.
All ears,
Ben

I think you intended to post your question here.

    Maybe you should ask Apple.

  • Image type conversion

Hi, How can i use BufferedImage class to perform image type conversion, thanks

I fyou're talking about changing the image encoding, see the documentation for ImageIO.
    {color:#0000ff}http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/imageio/ImageIO.html{color}
Particularly the read and write methods.
If you're talking about changing the BufferedImage.TYPE_xxx, construct a new BI with the same size and drawImage the previous image on it.
If something else, clarify. And next time you ask a question, please try to be clear about your requirements.

  • Implicit and explicit Type conversion using Type object in heap

    Hi,
I am surprised how Implicit and explicit Type conversion works using Type object in heap. for example when implicit type conversion occur what pointer it returns to object and similarly with explicit type conversion.

    Hello,
    >> I am surprised how Implicit and explicit Type conversion works using Type object in heap.
For Implicit conversions: Typical examples are conversions from smaller to larger integral types, and conversions from derived classes to base classes. For the first one, the reference would be different which means it would return a different pointer to
a new object. For the reference type, it actually points to the same memory location, you could use the object.ReferenceEquals() to check it.
For Explicit conversions (casts):Typical examples include numeric conversion to a type that has less precision or a smaller range, and conversion of a base-class instance to a derived class. For first one, it would perform the same with implicit conversions.
While for the conversion of conversion of a base-class instance to a derived class, actually, there's no built-in way to do this conversion.

  • How do I record Skype calls using CS4 Soundbooth?

    Hello All,
I'd like to use CS4 Soundbooth to record my Skype calls for a podcast.  How do I do that?  If anybody can help me out, I would be very grateful.  Thanks!

Which model call phone are you using? If you are a Windows Mobile user, then it will become an easy job. The software ----wm sound recorder can help you to record calls and sms. Then you can record your calls easily.
Maybe you can have a look at :http://www.wmsoundrecorder.com/index.html

Not really, because as I've mentioned, the reviews are not that good. Do a search yourself using the terms "Call Record". Here's one example that will pop up, read the reviews, judge for yourself:

You cannot use your built-in iSight for video in two applications (Skype and iMovie) at the same time.
I do not see any built-in ability to record video calls in Skype's video features page:
      http://tinyurl.com/239gqgf
The easiest way for you to record Skype video is to add http://ecamm.com/mac/callrecorder/
You will find many other possibilities if you search the web for "+how to record Skype video call?+" (without the quotation marks.) You may find many other perfectly acceptable alternatives, but I have always had good results with ecamm products and can recommend them in good conscience.
If you are determined to use iMovie, I can suggest two ways to record a Skype video call using iMovie:
    (1) Run Skype on one Mac
      • Run iMovie on a second Mac pointing at the first Mac's display.
    (2) Connect an external webcam to your Mac. (With more than one camera, iMovie will show both.)
      • Launch iMovie and select the external cam as the video recording source.
      • Point the external cam at your Mac's display.
      • Launch Skype and verify that your built-in iSight is the cam that Skype will use.
      • Start your Skype call and set the window size, brightness, and location.
      • Adjust the iMovie cam to show the part of your display you want to record and start recording.
Call Recorder seems a much better ways to record your Skype videos than either of these.
*For Snow Leopard users wanting to record Skype video*: you can record your entire display regardless of what app is running by using the QuickTimeX (version 10.x) that is bundled with Mac OS X 10.6.x. (10.5.8's QuickTime does not offer this screen recording feature.) QTX records only the full screen, so a product like Call Recorder may still be of interest to SL users who want to record less than full screen calls.

  • Recording Skype using Soundflower and usb audio interface as aggregate

I want to record Skype calls.
I installed Soundflower and Audacity records Skype far side audio fine when Soundflower is selected as the input. However, I want to record far side audio PLUS my microphone that runs through my Focusrite Forte usb audio interface (Audacity records my mic just fine with Forte selected as the input).
So I created an aggregate input device in OS 10.9 consisting of the Forte and Soundflower inputs. When I test out the aggregate audio input in the Mac audio settings, I see soundbars from both devices. However, when I choose the aggregate device as the input in Audacity, only the Forte device is recorded (not Skype).
Any ideas as to why only one of the two devices in the aggregate input is being recorded by Audacity?
Did I set up the aggregate incorrectly?
    Many thanks!

  • Importing a recorded Skype call into Premiere Pro & audio goes out of sync. PLEASE help!

Every time I try and import a clip it gets out of sync, but if I open the file in quicktime its perfect???

(Not sure why this response was originally rejected by the moderators, but am trying again.)
A solution that worked for us:
[EDIT] I do NOT work for any of the companies included in this solution, nor do I receive any kind of renumeration from them. I am recording the software and steps we used to overcome the problem of the original poster.[END EDIT]
The Skype Call Recorder (Ecamm) has 4 built-in converter/splitter apps (you have to look in the "Movie Files" folder to find them). We used the apps to split the recorded Skype video calls into 2 separate "conversations" and then used a free online converter (http://www.online-convert.com/) to convert the conversations into MP4s. Once the MP4s were imported into Adobe Premiere the audio lined up perfectly with the video.
    Hope this helps somebody.

  • What's the best way to record a phone conversation to GB?

i am doing a small podcast with my best friend "the joseph podcast" and we have a few celebrities calling in to our show, we can't believe it either, Angela Kinsey from "the office" and Charlie Day from "it's always sunny in philadelphia" and we were wondering what the best way to record a phone conversation would be. we need help and we are pretty much poor so keep it cheap. thanks so much!

If I were trying to record something very important, likely "get one chance only" type of thing, I would not use GB to do the recording. I would use a tape recorder and then later transfer the recording to GB.
    I'd use something like this BELL-SONECOR TR-70 Tele-Recorder Adapter for $13.

  • Recording Skype Calls on Windows 8?

Hey guys, I just updated to Skype 7.0 on my Windows 8 Pro PC. I just wanted to know how I can record Skype conversations for free. Is there a "built-in" feature to Windows 8 Pro I can use?
    Thanks!

There is unfortunately not any built in feature/program to windows 8 that I am aware of.
I tend to use a program called Camtasia but there is one which I have not tried called Adobe Captivate 8 http://thankyou.adobe.com/en/au/products/CP/v4/1106_captivate.html?sdid=KHSMT&skwcid=AL!3085!3!45057...
Unfortunately most programs like these are costly and most come with a free trial

  • Recording a telephone conversation to your Mac - Anyone know how?

    Hey all-
I'm searching for a solution to record telephone calls to my Mac G4. I've come across some devices that seem to work but are overkill for my needs. ( http://www.parliant.com/phonevalet/ and http://www.ovolab.com/phlink/index.php )
I need to record the phone calls of some of my clients. I sometimes use Skype and can record calls there, but for whatever reason, using Skype to call a land line just doesn't work well with some of the people I call, hence the need to use the phone.
I often use the recordings for my own reference, but may use them on podcasts and downloads as well. Basically, the recordings need to be decent, but not perfect.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
To record clients telephone conversations I use an Olympus Digital Recorder (there are many different brands available) plugged into a Radio Shack ‘Telephone Recorder Control’ which plugs into the telephone line. The Olympus recorder produces a ‘Windows Media’ file that can be downloaded and played by ‘Quicktime’. From there I run the Windows Media file through ‘Switch’ (freeware from Versiontracker) which creates a .aiff file. I usually burn the .aiff file to a CD using ‘Toast’, which does it own audio conversion. The CD can be played on just about any CD player or you can simply listen to it on iTunes. Hope this helps.

  • JSP type conversion (JSP- PageBean) not working

We are using page beans extensively, and I had expected that if you have a variable
of type String passed in the URL (variable name is "id" for example, a unique record
              identifier), and within the page bean declaration you have a setId(int uId){...}
that the JSP engine will automatically do the type conversion between the String
              and the int.
              I am using WLS6.0 on NT4.0SP5, and whenever I do this I get a
              java.lang.NoSuchMethodError error.
When I change the method signature to setId(String uId){...} (and change the variable
types etc. and do the String to int conversion myself), all works fine.
Does WLS6.0 not support this automatic type conversion?
              Thanks in advance,
              Mils.

    Try removing the transient property.
To avoid the duplicate problem, verify, before creating the component if the component is already on the tree.
transient - A flag indicating whether this instance has
decided to opt out of having its state
    information saved and restored. The
default value for all standard component,
    converter, and validator classes that
    implement StateHolder must be false.
    By other words -
     void setTransient(boolean newValue)
     boolean isTransient()
Set and get the transient property. When this property is set, the state is not
    saved.
