Using Feedburner

Having no luck with Feedburner for my blog.
Here's the message:
"Feed Address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/NoQuillRequired
HTTP Error Code: 500
Detail: There was a problem retrieving the feed: com.burningdoor.rsspp.resource.impl.HttpConnectionException: Error getting URL: 404 - Not Found"
Scratching my head, here, wondering why it's not working. My iWeb RSS button isn't feeding either.
Here's the blog address:

Muchas gracias!

Your iWeb RSS button is working, I just checked it and it all looks fine. I had problems getting Feedburner to take my RSS URL but once the iWeb one worked Feedburner followed suit.

  • Need help using Feedburner and Buzzboost in iWeb site

    Hello.
I have embedded a blog feed into my iWeb site using Feedburner's Buzzboost. The feed appears correctly, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the customizing CSS codes to work.
I've found countless tips on using CSS codes to customize the Buzzboost appearance. I cannot get the feed to react to the codes when I insert them inside of iWeb (in an html snippet) or outside of iWeb (when inserting the codes directly into the CSS file for the page).
I have tried everything I can find in searching this problem. Perhaps it is something very simple that I am simply overlooking.......
thanks for any help in advance.

WordPress does not allow custom code. You have their method using Insert Media.

  • No author showing for podcast? Title Wrong? (using feedburner)

    Hi There,
I've done everything myself up until this point and now I'm stuck. I am using Feedburner to get my podcast onto iTunes, but now that I have it on iTunes it doesn't look the way it should. the title is messed up (The Hollywood Persona » Podcast) it has » Podcast on the end for some reason. The Podcast also has no author, it says by unknown. Where did I go wrong and is there any way to fix it?
    MY feedburner is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheHollywoodPersonaPodcast
and my podcast is at: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/hollywood-persona-podcast/id939473156
    Thanks, Mitch

The title in the feed is 'The Hollywood Persona » Podcast' and this is what shows in iTunes. You will need to amend this in Wordpress.
There is no 'itunes:author' tag, which is why the author is shown as 'Unknown'. You will need to add this tag either in Wordpress or Feedburner.

  • Resubmitting a podcast feed using Feedburner

I submitted my podcast feed through the iTunes store, and I received an email saying it was rejected. I used Feedburner to submit my feed, and I think it was rejected because I had the "Smartcast" setting activated, but completely blank.
I deactivated the setting on Feedburner, and then resubmitted through the iTunes store, but a message comes up saying "The feed has already been submitted." I know the feed was already submitted, but it was rejected, and now I am trying to submit the feed again with (hopefully) the problem fixed.
I don't think there is a problem with the feed since I can subscribe to it through iTunes, and it works fine.
    feed address:
    http://feeds2.feedburner.com/FifthAveSounds-ReggaeAndDancehall
    Any advice?

Make a small change to the title (you can always change it back later) and resubmit.

  • Changing feed url from Blogger to Podomatic, using Feedburner...Am I doing this correctly?

Apologies in advance for my newbie-ness, but I recently started a podcast (Candid Voices) using Blogger and then burning with Feedburner, from which I submitted the feed to the Itunes Store (which was accepted).
However, I have had to switch to PodoMatic for my podcast hosting. I recently updated my Feedburner source url (just an hour ago), and I believe that should cause the Itunes store to update my Podcast eventually...however, I don't want to wait a few days and then figure out there was another step I was supposed to take to complete the changeover.
Can someone let me know if I've done this correctly and can expect the Store to reflect the changes within a couple days?
    My PodoMatic url: http://candidvoices.podomatic.com
    My Feedburner url: http://feeds.feedburner.com/candidvoiceswithdonny
If you need other information, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your patience and help!

Oddly you appear to have two identical feeds:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/candidvoiceswithdonny
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/CandidVoicesWithDonny
iTunes is using the latter, but they are the same and are both drawn from the Podomatic feed, so I suppose Feedburner is somehow creating two simultaneously. However on your next update you should make sure that the latter feed is indeed being updated.
Both episodes appear when subscribing, but the Store hasn't caught up yet - it was only posted today, so it should catch up in 1-2 days. There's no further action you need take.

  • I used Feedburner but it still doesn't work.

I followed instructions on how to use ourmedia.org, embedding the files to a blog, and then using that blog in feedburner to crank out an address that iTunes is supposed to like. It doesn't like it. Says "Feed has no episodes" when it really has two.
Can someone point me to clear instructions on how to submit podcasts to iTunes properly?

If it's saying that the feed has no episodes then there is something wrong with the feed, or the episodes are in a format iTunes can't handle, such as .wmv or Flash. It's not possible to commend further unless you would like to post the URL of your feed.

  • Feedburner no longer supported by Tumblr, alternatives?

I have a podcast at http://okay-saturday.tumblr.com and was using feedburner to get my podcast up onto iTunes. Yesterday I got an e-mail saying Tumblr no longer supported syndication through feedburner, so I quickly tried to look for an alternative. I found feedpress and redirected my feed to that, and only realized after I set everything up that they don't automatically add enclosure tags like feedburner did (at least I don't think so, anyway), so my podcast no longer has episodes on iTunes. This is the feed now (and on top of that it's only showing 10 posts at a time) http://feedpress.me/OkaySaturday
I really don't care about statistics or anything. Most people seem to actually download our podcast through Tumblr and not even on iTunes, I just want the podcast to be available on iTunes as an option for those who like to listen to it that way. As I'm pretty sure Tumblr doesn't allow you to edit the XML of your blog so I can't add the enclosure tags myself, is there any other RSS feed service that does this? Thanks!

Since my last message I was able to restore everything to my feedburner feed...which DOES still work with Tumblr. Now I'm kind of confused about what Tumblr meant in that e-mail to me. Here's the e-mail they sent:
    Feedburn notice
Just writing to let you know that we no longer support syndication through Feedburner. Regular old RSS still works just fine, though.
Want to update your RSS feed preferences? Go to settings
I find the whole thing very strange because I also don't understand how Tumblr could not work with feedburner anymore either. There's a feedburner option in settings, maybe that's what they mean. All you do is type your feedburner URL in the box and it does everthing else for you. Maybe it just means this option will be gone soon and you'll manually have to direct your Tumblr feed to feedburner in the html of the blog (or maybe I'm just confused and don't fully understand how RSS feeds work).
Ether way everthing is still there, and it seems crazy to me too but Tumblr really doesn't have an option anywhere for enclosure tags. Thanks for your response though, if somehow feedurner does stop working with Tumblr I'll try moving to blogger instead!

  • IWeb rss to feedburner- can anyone help? $$!!

I have browsed several sites for days and still can't find specific information that will help me.
I REALLY need quick and concise help here, **** I'll throw a few bucks on paypal to anyone who can help me resolve this issue. seriously.
It's a common enough problem it seems- but I haven't found any answers.
I publish a podcast through iWeb (07), I want to use feedburner to track stats and such but don't want to start a new rss (not that I know how- iWeb creates it for you)- I want to have my current rss through iWeb point/redirect to my feedburner rss so I won't disrupt subscribers as outlined here: http://forums.feedburner.com/viewtopic.php?t=3
Like I said, I have no problem compensating for aid here, I'm just at the end of my rope trying to figure this stuff out. Please check out that link and respond to this thread- or better- email me at [email protected] and let's work somethin out. Please help!

  • Lost listed episode after Feedburner transfer

Our podcast has been using Feedburner for about six months with no issue. This was the feed submitted to itunes and all of our episodes were in the iTunes store. We are in the process of migrating to Feedblitz for better support and metrics and when I began the transfer process of having Feedburner directed to my site feed which redirects back to feedblitz, I lost all my episodes but two. I've looked at the RSS and can't find any issues. Anyone see the problem with this feed.
    Feedburner feed:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/RDTK_Podcasts
Feedblitz feed that Feedburner is now redirected to:
    http://feeds.feedblitz.com/rolldicetakenames
    Thanks

I'm afraid I can't advise on Feedblitz. Does it actually allow you to edit the feed itself? - it's no good putting this data into the contents of the description tag. I'm seeing this sort of thing inside those tags:
    <embed flashvars="audioUrl=http://s91339643.onlinehome.us/Podcasts/5MI-WantToPlayAGame.mp33" height="27" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality="best" src="http://feeds.feedblitz.com/-/39335553/0/rolldicetakenames~Whatcha-playing-Enclos ure.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="400" wmode="transparent"></embed>
Notice that all the '<' and '>' tags have been rendered as the code for them, which would be correct if you were proposing to display the code as a text entry - although it doesn't in fact display.
That episode also contains a proper tag:
    <enclosure url="http://feeds.feedblitz.com/-/39335553/0/rolldicetakenames~Whatcha-playing-Enclos ure.swf" length="69736" type="application/x-shockwave-flash; charset=utf-8"/>
but refers to a Flash file. I don't know how you are going to unpick this, but the presence of all these Flash references is messing things up.

  • Feedburner: Change language

    Hi everyone,
I am using feedburner for updating my podcasts in iTunes. I am wondering how I can change the language shown in the iTunes directory from English to German. Is there any option via feedburner.com?
Thanks and nice greeting from Munich,
    Christian
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/channelcast
    http://itunes.apple.com/de/podcast/channelcast-de/id420985003

The language is carried in the 'language' tag which should read
    <language>de</language>
As to how you would change this if Feedburner is writing your feed (as opposed to your submitting a feed to Feedburner) you would have to ask their Support.

  • Feedburner feed changed somehow to feed.proxy...;

I have had error in iTunes this past week: There is not enough memory. I've had the podcast for over a year and a half. Due to this feed being down (and apparently changed somehow to the long URL for feedburner proxy, iTunes has deleted my podcast. 60% of my subscribers subscribe via iTunes (mac & windows). I was on apple support 2 different days.
    My podcast is at: http://OurCatechism.com
    Originally I was using: feeds2.feedburner.com/OurCatechism
this has changed automatically to that long URL which I didn't change
I've tried validating the default feed: http://ourcatechism.com/BroPorter/feed
    the other is: http://ourcatechism.com/BroPorter/feed/podcast
Which one do I want to use? I don't want to use feedburner any longer.
What would I be using as a title for my new entry in iTunes Store without getting an error that it already exists?
Validating these files returns a suggeestion (requirement)... any suggestions to repair?
And my audio media is located at: http://ourcatechism.com/BroPorter/wp-content/uploads/OC mm_dd Episode 00x.mp3

I've tried validating the default feed: http://ourcatechism.com/BroPorter/feed - the other is: http://ourcatechism.com/BroPorter/feed/podcast
Both feeds are OK apart from a fatal problem: the media filenames have three spaces in them:
    OC 01_12 Episode 012.mp3
Spaces are not allowed in a URL: you must either rename the feed not to have spaces or in the feed use the code for a space - %20 - to replace them (preferably the former).
The presence of a space makes the URL appear to stop at the first one and thus not be valid.
Get this sorted, and either feed should be OK. If you want to resubmit from scratch I should make a small change to the title - anything as long as it's different from what iTunes was using, one character change would do ('Our_Catechism' for example).

  • Podcast Art Question

    Hi all,
Ultra newbie here with probably an obvious question.  I recently submitted two separate podcasts to iTunes, and they both seem to be up and running in the store.  Right now, the art that goes with them is not there--just the generic podcast icon.  I gather from what I've seen on this forum that this is pretty much par for the course--the podcast goes live long before the associated cover art appears in iTunes.  In both cases, when I submitted my feed (I'm using Feedburner), the art popped up on the confirmation page, so I assume all is basically well.
I have two slightly more subtle questions, though.  First, I've subscribed to both podcasts myself to make sure they would download okay, and they do.  In the case of the first one (the art of rhetoric one), it even shows up with the cover art, even though it doesn't appear in the iTunes store yet (which, I assume, means it's just a matter of time before it *does* show up).  With the second podcast, however, the episode downloads, but unlike the other podcast, the art doesn't get downloaded with it--just the same old podcast icon.  Is this just a fluke, or is this cause for concern that there's something wrong with the image?
A second minor question is that with the art of rhetoric podcast (i.e., the one that *does* download the cover art with the episode), the art appears, but the right and left edges are cut off just a bit.  I thought I had been incredibly careful to format the jpeg to be precisely square at 300 x 300 (the numbers I saw recommended by iTunes).  It's easy enough to rejigger the jpeg to allow for more margin space, if that's necessary.  The question is this: if I change the link to this cover art jpeg with Feedburner, will it then automatically change (eventually) in iTunes?
Below are the itunes links to the two podcasts.
Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie!
    Cheers,
    Ted

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/behind-behind-the-headlines/id451518148

    Hi again,
I *think* I've figured out the problem.  I was a bit thrown by the note that there wasn't a media file associated with the new Rhetoric episode since I had certainly uploaded one, but thanks to your prodding, I went back and figured out (probably) what the source of confusion was.
When setting up my podcast feed using the combo of Blogger and Feedburner, the instructions said to make sure to show the link dialog box in the header for each new blog post associated with the podcast in addition to the title.  I did that and was dutifully including a link to the media file in that dialog box when making a new post.  I had assumed that this was the link that "assocated" the linked media file with the blog post (and, hence, the feed generated by feedburner).
That seems to have worked in the posts for the "Headlines" podcast, but in the Rhetoric podcast, I noticed that I had also linked to the media file in the text of the blog post itself, not just in the link dialog at the top, in the first post.  In the second one, I had not.  When I viewed my feed details in Feedburner, I was given the option to "Play Now" the podcast for the first lecture, but not the second.  I went back and included a link to the media file in the actual text of the blog post for the second lecture, and went back to Feedburner.  Now, I was given the "Play Now" option for both lectures.  I assumes his means that now there truly is a media file associated with this post, and next time iTunes checks, things will be hunky dory.  We'll see.
I'm still not quite sure why I had to link to the media file in the text of the blog post for one feed, but don't seem to have needed to do that with the other.  It's not a problem to do so, but I'd be a bit more comfortable if I knew why this was the case.
At any rate, thanks again for the help.  I'll likely have more questions as things continue, but I'm keeping fingers crossed that I've managed to get things up and going now at long last.
    Cheers,
    Ted

  • RSS Feed Issues

I built a blog in iWeb which is hosted by MobileMe on my personal domain. I use Feedburner for the RSS Feed.
Here is my raw feed address: http://www.ryanfirpo.com/filmmaker/Blog/rss.xml
Here is my Feedburner feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ryan918FILMS
Can anyone tell me how to:
    1) Get the RSS Feed to display images.
    2) Get the RSS Feed to embed video.
    3) Get the RSS Feed to retain all my previous posts. Right now it will only show the five newest at any given time (in any RSS Reader).
I apologize about the multiple posts. I'm just completely at a loss as to where to go next and there seems to be no information about this specific problem anywhere on the web (I've done a lot of searching). I thought posting something that simply and concisely explained my problem would be beneficial.
BTW I only began using Feedburner because I wanted my RSS Feed to display multiple images (at this point, I'd settle for one) and I read this article: http://allaboutiweb.com/index.php/2008/09/better-rss-iweb/
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's just to tell me these things can't be done with iWeb. At this point, I really don't know.

I'm trying to use a feed provided by libsyn:
    feed://podcastdoctor.libsyn.com/rss
And it is giving me the same errors as mentioned in this thread:
There was a problem updating the group titled TabName in course CourseTitle - the url http://media.libsyn.com/media/podcastdoctor/40Dr._Rudi_Ansbacher_-Menopause.mp3 could not be read
I don't have control over the libsyn feed, and cannot tell if:
    1) the redirect on the media file is the cause
    2) the xml feed is invalid (libsyn support said it was OK).
The frustrating thing is this feed is used in the Apple Store on the Podcasting side... so I am not sure why it won't also work in iTunesU.
    Thanks!
    John

  • My episodes are not showing up. What can I do?

    1. I just got my podcast accepted in itunes.
    2. All my blog post was showing up in my podcast becuase I was using http://painting-with-a-palette-knife.com/feed
    3. I change it into http://painting-with-a-palette-knife.com/category/podcast/feed so it would only show my podcast videos instead of all my blog posts.
    4. Now nothing shows up in itunes under my podcast Painting With A Palette Knife.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do?
    (I am using Feedburner)

It is also posible to go back to the imovie you had before, it is still on your computer - you go to Finder and it is in a folder in your programs. Many others have gone back to the old program, and perhaps I am also going to do that too.
In the new imovie it does not come up the question "do you want to download these videos ...."
You shall in imovie open your iphotolibrary in top on the left side,( it is standing under libraries) and  you can see all the events you have in iphoto, then you can open the event, you shall use and drag the movies and pictures from the events in iphoto to an events in imovie. If you can,t see your libraries, you can click on a show button on top of the left side.
On the picture you see here iphoto is market on the top of the left side and the pictures to the left is my iphoto-events - and there I can open the one I shall use, and find my movies.

  • How do I delete one of my episodes on my podcast?

I use "feedburner" to submit my feed (.mp3's) to iTunes, and recently it unfortunately loaded a ".pdf" (that was in my blog) that I did not want to be uplodaded to iTunes. How do I go about removing it? I'm not sure if I can go somewhere into iTunes and manage my podcast from there and can't seem to find a way to change it on "feedburner", any suggestions?

You can't do anything in iTunes: it just reads the feed, so you will have to remove the episode from the feed. Presumably you created your podcast in some program, and then submitted the feed it creates to Feedburner. I wouldn't have expected Feedburner to add anything itself, so you will need to remove the episode from your blog and republish.
it sounds as if you are mixing podcast and non-podcast episodes in your blog: this isn't a good idea and can lead to problems. Episodes with no playable media will not appear in iTunes; but for some reason PDFs are acceptable. So if you have an episode with a PDF in it as an 'enclosure' it will show in iTunes.
