Using firefox 30 in windows 7 i get a blank page when restarting if i only have one tab open when i close.

I have my options set for firefox to "open windows and tabs from last time", but anytime I have only one tab left open, I get a blank page. If I have multiple tabs, then it opens with the tab and windows.
I am running Windows 7 professional and Firefox 30. Thank you for any assistance you may offer.

Now if you close the last tab the window (or Firefox) won't close, but a New Tab will be there.

I only have one tab open but when I close firefox I get the notification that I am about to close 5 tabs. I can not see these other tabs.

First it started out as just 1 extra tab. Then it was 3 and now it's 5 tabs. But there is only one tab open and I checked for pinning and an extra window open.

It's possible you have a second ''tab group''. This article describes the concept: [[Use Tab Groups to organize a lot of tabs]].
To work with the tab groups in the current window, press Ctrl+Shift+e or look for a menu button toward the far right end of the tab bar. If you find multiple tab groups, you should be able to drag all the tabs into a single group so you can work with that one group and see what is getting closed.
I don't use this feature myself, so if that doesn't work, hopefully another volunteer can provide a better set of steps.

How to stop tabs re-opening after firefox crashes.........when it crashes and I have multiple tabs open, when re-starting firefox all of the tabs re-open too. How can I stop this?

Firefox crashes quite often, especially when I have multi tabs open. I usually have to use CTRL ALT DEL and end the process as Firefox stops responding.
My problem is not the crashing........it is the re-opening of the multiple tabs I had open, when normally it is one of them (not the home page) that caused the crash in the first place, so I cannot re-open firefox until I restart the pc, because every time I do it is the same story. Firefox tries to re-open all of the tabs and stops responding. I have looked in options but nowhere does it allow me to stop multiple tabs opening after a crash. If this continues, I will have to uninstall Firefox and stick to Chrome.

Set the pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.

After a crash, when Firefox is restored, I get many blank pages opening, in addition to the correct page. It takes a while to close them all.

The new version of Firefox also seems to be crashing more than the old.

I have downloaded Firefox 5.0 and now when i have mutiple tabs open and I close Firefox it no longer saves them. Is there a way to fix this?

The Restart Firefox add-on is not compatible

Firefox 4.0 on WinXP shows the Menu bar by default, the orange Firefox button appears when the Menu bar is hidden. Right-click the Menu bar and de-select the Menu bar item by clicking on it.

Why do I have 3 tabs opening when I first open firefox

Everytime I open my Frefox browser I have 3 differnet tabs that open, I have Firefox 3.6.24. I won't upgrade cause when I do alot of my programs won't work.

Actually, it's not obvious & common sense would dictate that users' bookmarks would not be left stuck to random computers even once they've logged out of the account. No one wants that if it's a public work computer or if they're traveling & use an Internet cafe. As I am not the only one who has noticed this issue or had bookmarks disappear/be deleted, in addition, common sense would indicate it's not really a very good system. And carrying around a flashdrive to run Firefox off of it is a good solution? Really? Just curious why a useful feature such as being able to login & use your preferences & bookmarks & then logging out removes your preferences when you're gone hasn't been developed. Yahoo keeps my preferences when I logout (it's called My Yahoo!). Maybe a My Firefox or My Chrome solution could be developed.

Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.
