Using Firefox 5 with the latest flash player, exiting youtube the computer totally locks up. Tried Google chrome no problrms at all. Can you help please?

After watching Youtube content often in HD full screen on pressing the icon to minimise the computer totally locks up totally unresponsive.
Doing the same in Chrome has no issues.

I'd still prefer to keep separate user accounts. I never had any issues like this before. The only time I started having a problem was when I was just trying to force empty the trash a few months ago. I came on here looking for a solution and someone posted a way to empty the trash using the terminal. Before then, I hadn't used the terminal for anything--it was just another app in my utilities folder.  (None of this has anything to do with having separate user accounts. Plenty of people with kids make second and third user accounts on their laptops so that multiple people can use one laptop, having more than one user on a laptop is not very difficult.) But thank you, I'll try that out and see if it works!

• When using firefox, table lines are displayed in a pdf document when I set them to backround colour not to display borders, can you help?

I am an Web Designer and create PDF files for download from the sites that I develop. I use version 19.0 of Firefox.
Included in these PDF files are tables which display certain data, and I have made some table columns wider with the fill colour the same colour as the table border colour.
Recently table borders have appeared in the filled in areas, which I do not want to happen.
Also the look of the Adobe Reader is different in Firefox. and normal in IE and Opera browser which I also use.
So overall, the the PDF file is not being displayed correctly in Firefox. If I could I would have attached a screen dump of the display error, to help. Can you offer a solution please?

The same problem here, this started with the latest version.
I found a temporal solution which is change the default "previewer" in the Options -> Applications tab
You need to install the Adobe Reader Plugin described http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-adobe-reader-plugin-view-or-download-pdf-files.

• Just reinstalled newest iTunes and still the program fails to open.  Am using Windows 7 starter.  It seems that the failure to open iTunes happened just after I updated to the latest flash player.  Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

iTunes will not open.  I am using Windows 7, and have had no trouble with iTunes until yesterday.  The only think I did yesterday was install an upgrade to the latest Flash player.  From then on, even after deleting and reinstalling iTunes, it still does NOTHING after the screen authorizing iTunes to make changes to the hard drive.  I have tried going to the applications and ending process.  I've also tried going to Control panel - and tried to repair the program.
If I don't get some help here... iTunes is toast to me.
Thanks,
GaryFromSeffner

It is best to go to the source, Adobe, to get their software and updates. Sometimes malware can infect sites with messages that appear legitimate, but will, instead, install malware/virus/trojan on your system. Read the following carefully to install and/or update Adobe Flash.
There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an ActiveX version for IE only and a Plugin version for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually. You do not have Adobe Flash (aka "Shockwave Flash" in Add-ons > Plugins) installed.
#Using Firefox, go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit OR Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
#*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
#Direct link ActiveX version for IE only: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe

Thanks. Using IE go to Tools>Manage add ons and find Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control..Flash10e.ocx and make sure it is enabled.
Do the same thing using FF and look in plug-ins for SWF vs 10.0.45.2 and make sure it is enabled.
I would also check a few other sites as it could be this is isolated to Facebook.
Thanks,

• Crashing on the latest flash player 15 plugin

Crashing on the latest flash player 15 plugin

Hello,
I noticed in your system details you have two versions of the same plugin:
* Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 12.1.1.151
* Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 12.0.7.148
Having multiple versions of the same plugin can cause issues - see if you can remove the older version.
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
# Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/> <br/>
# Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
# Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
# Restart Firefox.
This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

just installed the latest Flash Player
Did you uninstall all the previous versions of Adobe Flash Player?  Did you repair permissions and restarted your computer after the installation?
Which browser & version are you using?  Have you tried other browsers?
Please advise.

To give you any useful advice, I'm going to need to know more about your computer and browser:

i downloaded the latest flash player on my mac and still does not work

Exactly where did you download Flash from, if you did not download it from
http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/
you did not get an authorized version.
If  you did and it still does not work then  you should be in touch with one of the Flash Player or Adobe help forums, because it's an Adobe product they would know best how to troubleshoot issues.

• I cannot install the latest Flash Player 13 becuase it asks me to first quit DashboardClient.

I am trying to install the latest Flash Player 13 for my imac.  It starts to then stops and asks me to Quit DashboardClient which I have never heard of .
There is no such animal and I have nothing opened to quit, except for the Flash Player installer.
I am running a intel core 2 duo Imac with OSX 10.9.2

I have since found out that the offending item is widgets running in the Dashboard application.
What you do is go into Activity Monitor - select Dasboard- then select force quit, close all other applications.
Restart the installation process which should now complete then restart computer and it should be done.
I have never had to do this ever with any update , but it does work , I think (hopefully).

This is not a message that Adobe is providing, and I recommend that you not click on the link. It sounds as though you might have malware on your computer.

Someboby can help me?

Hi again, thank you. Now before you try to Install Flash Player, you must run the Uninstaller to remove the old Flash Player.
Download the Uninstaller to your Desktop: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Then Download the Installer for Internet Explorer to your Desktop:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
I would suggest that you read over the Uninstall instructions before beginning and also this troubleshooting article:
http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_tn_19166_en-us Both of these will have information if followed will help to have a clean Uninstall and
a successful Install.
Be sure to follow the Reboot about IE.
If you have any questions about any of these procedures, just post back.
After you are finished, then go to this test site: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about
Then post back and I'll have you check some files to make sure everything Installed correctly.
