Using flash player to play local files

When I try to run a local flash file I clicking on it with Windows Explorer rather than playing the file. How to I get it to just play the file?
I'm using Win 7/64. I have flash player 11.8.800.94

Use the standalone Flash Player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will have to make the file association manually.

In firefox 21 using flash-player to play music and then opening other one (for example in deviantart picture suffle) mutes the music instantly.

I switched to Firefox 21 and did the usual run to see if there are clinches, one came in the first run: using flashplayer in youtube to listen music and then opening other flash (in this case Deviantarts picture shuffle) mutes the music instantly and the only way to start the sound is reloading.
This didn't appear in 20, so there's one where 21 is weaker.

I have the exact same issue. Reboot is not helping.
Trouble is, I had it working properly in my other Arch install. I have tried ncmpc and Sonata and gmpc, they all start to play the song - I even see the CD covers (for the songs that I have CD covers for) -- but only for a split second and thenit stops.
I don't think alsa is an issue, because cplay plays all songs without a hitch.
I was hoping for a solution - but all I found was this thread and unfortunately Varreon doesn't know what he/she did to get it to work.
Could you maybe retrace your steps - if you remember them ?
EDIT : This is my mpd.error file. Having a look at it, it does seem that mpd is not recognizing mpdvol

Adobe Flash Player 11 plays like its stuck on fast forward with no sound

I just finished setting up windows xp professional sp3 after a recent hard drive failure. My registry and everything are checking out ok. However when i try to watch vids on youtube or any that would use flash player they play like their stuck on fastforward. Please help I would like to be able to watch videos.

Flash player is still running too fast without sound multiple system restarts and flash reinstalls have not fixed it either. I have also uninstalled it before installing it. I am running windows xp proffesional sp3. My os was just reinstalled a day ago after my primary hard drive died. I don't think its a problem with the registry have ran multiple scans with vipre and tunup utilities everything is clean. I honestly would like to watch videos please.

Urgent- using adobe flash player 10 to view files from a URL (in javascript)

I am trying to cereate a video search engine that retrieves and then plays videos. I have decided to use adobe flash player to play the given files, howver with no luck. I am successful at actually hosting the player in my html code, however, when I provide the player with the following URL to retrieve the video frmo it, I am completely unsuccessful at getting the video to play in the player.

what am I doing wrong? this is extremely urgent that I get this donem running against a close deadline. Kindly, advise me what is the best way to play the files from such URL's after the search engnie has found them. player 6.
However when i select flash player 7 or 8 and then run the
template, none
of the menu links on the flash template work???
When i revert back to flash player 6 the menu links work
fine!!!
How do i get the flash template to play using flash player 7
or 8???
Do i have to convert the template to flash player 7 or 8?? If

action script in flash 7 and 8 was changes slightly and not
all things
are compatible from flash 6 files.
Go to file - publish setting and under FLASH tab select
version 6 and action script 1.0
This could help. Else you have no choice but redo the
template so it is new player
compatible.

How do I fix this?

That would probably be a question best taken up in on a site for Windows support questions. Not knowing anything about the movie you're trying to play, all I can suggest is to confirm that the format of the movie you wish to play is supported in your version of WMP. If it isn't, you'll either need to convert the movie or use some other player software.

Videos won't play until fully loaded when using Flash Player

When I try to play videos using flash player, it usually takes a very long time for them to start playing, because they do not start until the entire video is loaded. However, disabling flash player and using something like Quicktime allows me to start watching a video once enough of it has buffered.
I'm currently using Windows 7 x64, and it happens across browses (Firefox, Chrome, IE). I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the latest version of Flash player several times, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

How video is played is determined from the content/server, not flash player itself. Are you seeing this happen with YouTube?

Get Flash Player To Play On Top Of Other Windows

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a Dell XPS 8100 with Intel i7 Processor. I am using Windows Live Mail and a Hotmail Live Account for my email. When I click on a link to a video in an email Adobe Flash Player always plays underneath the open windows necessitating my minimizing the other windows to view the video. Other than that Flash Player works great. I am using Mozilla Firefox as my default browser. IE 9 is my other browser. All browsers, Flash Player, and the ATI Radeon 5700 video card are up to date. I have now isolated this playing on bottom to swf files. Every time my friends with Macs send email attachments I get this. I don't have a solution yet, but the Jpegs and Videos are playing nicely on the bottom window. I just minimize the windows on top for now. I hope to solve this issue even though no viewers of my post so far have come up with a solution.

Black screen after using flash player 3 or 4 times

I've had this problem for a long time: After having played three or four videos using flash player for example, my screen turns completely black and I have to force a shut down of my PC. With how much flash is still used in browsers, this is extremely annoying and a waste of my time.

I updated my flash player and my graphic driver and the problem still occurs. I also turned of the hardware acceleration as stated in the following article: Video playback issues but it remains the same.
I registered this as a bug: Bug#3863932 - Video playback issues but I am uncertain whether this will actually be solved sooner there or here on the forums... So I've decided to try both.
Please help!

Yeah, that was always the problem: Hardly anyone CAN reproduce it. I've checked my hardware and drivers though and I've re-installed windows completely just because of this bug, thinking it might be some virus or sth, but nothing like that helped.
And so far, I couldn't find any steps to reproduce, or anyone who also has this problem.
I had my brother, who has a masters degree in computer sciences, try it out and he didn't know any solution or any reason either. :I You can just tell me if this is hopeless, I won't be mad, but really, a video would just show you exactly what I told you.

Also, it doesn't happen with specific youtube videos. I tried mixing up the order of the videos and it happened again, after starting the 3rd or 4th video (also happens when facebook had this automatically-starting-videos-thing, which was especially fun, as you can imagine, so it's not website-specific either, sadly)..

The problem described as follows:
1. The flash file with sound works well before uploaded to
website. The audio lost when uploaded to the website(There is no

2. When we open the flash movie in IE with Flash player
V9.0.47 and previous versions (Flash9d.ocx), the flash movie with
sound works well.

can play several seconds and then stop.
4. On Flash Player ocx V9.0.115. If we publish the flash
movie on web with 24fps, the sound just can work several seconds
and then stop, the problem is the same if we use the
TShockWaveFlash control to play the flash movie.
5. On Flash Player ocx V9.0.115. If we publish the flash
movie with 12fps, the sound works well but the quality is really
very poor. It seems that the sound plays shorter with more frames
per second. But the flash file works well with the Flash Player
V9.0.47 and previous versions (Flash9d.ocx).

Yahoo webplayer continuously "buffering" and never plays local files

I installed the yahoo webplayer to play mp3's on the html page. Works fine on the net. Playing local files, it is continuously buffereing and doesn't play. In DW live view, the css box in the right hand corner flashes as the flash screen operates. The flash screen moves at half speed. It appears that the webplayer is somehow interfering with the flash and vice versa. Anybody seen this before?

Most likely a pathing issue.
... Have no idea what a "yahoo webplayer to play mp3's" is or how it works.
But the action (or in-action) you are describing sounds like the player is not finding the audio file... most likely because the path to the mp3 is wrong, relative to the player.
Only guessing... since there is no way for us to know what your "working" version of the embedding mp3 player code is without a link to the actual Web page...
but an online player, will almost NEVER be able to find any content on your local machine....

I can only use Flash Player in one tab at a time, only on Firefox.

Recently, when I downloaded the new Flash Player, I can only use flash player in one tab at a time. This is only in firefox. I'll open youtube, and the visual and sound both play perfectly. I open up a new tab, begin using a flash website in that tab, and the youtube sound is quiet, only the visual continues to play. I need to multitask with flash sometimes, and this is a big problem for me. Help!

By default, Flash 11.3 and higher will spin up a lot of distinct processes. You should be able to get quite a cacophony going.
Have you ever done any troubleshooting that involves changing how Firefox works with plugin-container.exe or the Flash player's protected mode?
Often it is helpful to disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash:
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
(B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
Unrelated, but you can remove the Java Console extensions unless you are a Java developer (and even then, you probably don't need the old ones):

Using Flash player even though YouTube HTML5 video player is enabled

I'm in YouTube HTML5 video player beta program (http://youtube.com/html5), but even with it being enabled, every time I play a YouTube video it's still using Flash player.
