USING GARRITAN JABB WITH LOGIC 8 and KEYSTATION PRO

Anyone out there using Garritan Jazz & Big Band? I can't get any vibrato even though I'm moving the vibrato dial on the screen (this goes for "lite" as well as the regular instruments")
is there some toggle i'm forgetting to use? I do get flutter...
right now pitch bend works, and the mod wheel controls volume.... do i have to assign that wheel or some other dial on my controller to make the other stuff work?

Please check the JABB manual. Although M-Audio's Keystation Pro 88 does not have aftertouch, you can set up any of the Keystation Pro's faders or turn knobs to the CC# that provides the same aftertouch effect. The JABB manual will tell you which CC# to use for aftertouch. (I am away from home and away from my own manual, otherwise I would give you this information.)
Because of all of the CC#'s that are utilized within JABB to help create "real sounding" instruments, I usually do several recordings after the original one for each of the CC#'s that I may use. This includes that "aftertouch" CC# that I've set up on either a fader or turn-knob. This is my work-flow methodology which works well enough for me. Then, I fine-tune the recorded CC#'s information using Hyperdraw.
Without a doubt, this is a labor-intensive process. But with the time and effort put into JABB (and other similar instrumental libraries), comes a more natural-sounding work. At least this is true for my ears, anyway.

That is most definitely NOT the way Aria should work. As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure how that could possibly occur.
I tried to upload some shots of a normally-functioning Aria Player, but it won't let me for some reason. If you click on an instrument slot you will see your options in the drop-down menu. In your case, you may prefer to select the Notation instruments.
If you continue adding different instruments they will load in their chosen slots and will all remain in the same Aria window.
Even if you should choose an Ensemble (top left) you will see all the chosen ensemble's instruments load in their assigned slots, all in one Aria Player window.
If you are unable to get Aria to function properly, the first thing I would do if I were you is reset it by going to your user>Library>Preferences and deleting com.Garritan.ARIA Player.plist and com.Garritan.ARIA PlayerSA.plist. New .plist files will be created the next time you launch Aria Player. If you're nervous about this you could always just drag them to your desktop and re-launch Aria Player . . . you can move them back if necessary.

Aggregate devices are setup in the Audio/Midi setup of OSX Utilities, (Not in Logic). It gives you a way of having for than one audio i/o device. Once you have set up your aggregated devices in Audio/Midi, when you start Logic you will need to go into Audio preferences and choose the Aggregate device.

JSP Compile Error when using dynamic ID in logic:iterate and bean:size

I try to create a dynamic table with logic:iterate and bean:size tag. Dynamic means the attributes are written by scriptlet. Eg.:
<logic:iterate id="customerBean" name="<%= formName %>" property="<%= propertyName%>" length="<%= sRowSize%>">When I replace the id Attribute with propertyName I get compile errors, such as
the compiler doesn't know the value at runtime:

Solution: don't use a runtime expression for the id attribute.
The id attribute is used to declare
- an attribute in scope
- a scriptlet variable on the page
These are only available for the duration of the <logic:iterate> tag
The "id" is only used in your programming. You don't need to make it dynamic.

Can I use MainStage 2 with Logic Express 9.1.6

Is it possible to use MainStage 2 with Logic Express 9.1.6.? Are there any limitations to not having Logic Pro 9. I'm very happy with LE9.1.6. as it meets all my needs (perhaps with the exception of not having Space Designer) but if I need to upgrade to get the most out of MainStage 2 then I will.

Actually I have found a way for at least the instrument plug ins to be accessed.
I was able to set up an instance of Sculpture in MS2 and record it in LE using Soundflower.
Route the audio from MainStage to Logic and record onto an audio track in Logic as follows:
If not already installed, get SoundFlower. After installing it.
A) Setup the sound you want in MS2 and audio output to Soundflower (remember to Apply Changes or it does not hold).
B) In Logic Express set the audio input to Soundflower and create a new audio track for recording. Important: set Soundflower's audio output to however you listen to your audio or you won't hear anything.
C) Press RECORD and start playing, LE captures Mainstage's sound.
I have not tried to wire LE's output to MS2 to take advantage of Space Designer. but since this functions, I'm not sure why that couldn't work as well. It is still flipping though a few screens though...might just be easier to get Logic Pro from the App store....

The M-audio techs were unable to tell me if Quattro would work with LE8, so I've been wasting my time and money trying to make it work.
They also gave me conflicting opinions as to whether or not "tip" polarity was an issue when using an after-market adapter. One said definitely yes, one or two others said definitely no.
Their phone tech line has a 20 to 40 minute wait when I call. The online support system is confusing, which even they admit. I don't think my next interface will be from M-audio.

No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.

The first thing to do is trash the preferences. As far as affecting Logic 7, once you install 8, 7 is "forgotten" about. I'm assuming your L8 is a real version, not a "borrowed from the interweb" one.

This issue appears where there are any inconsistencies in your catalog (generally for video files). This issue may be due to offline files, missing files, video scenes. The recommendation here would be to fix these inconsistencies and try again. If that doesn't solve the issue, please follow steps mentioned in email by me.

No. Smart TVs can't use AFP to connect to the TC. Although, it might help to know what your smart TV actually is (i.e. model number? Make?)

You must authorize the second computer with the same Adobe ID.
There are sometimes issues with this registration: if you have them ....
Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
