I have two Imacs - the master one is plugged in directly into the modem, it runs with 10.6.8 and works fine (this computer is not connected to Icloud)- the other is connected to a router which is connected to the master unit and the modem. that unit was upgraded to 10.9.4 and it is connected to Icloud - both Imacs use gmail accounts for e-mail.
The "slave" unit running on 10.9.4 creates multiple copies of mail being written and sends those copies to the trash file. We have had up to fifty copies of one e-mail in the trash. That computer worked fine under OSX10.6.8 - We have visited the apple store genius bar with this Imac, and consulted the apple phone support service to no avail.
while it does take a long time to transmit the e-mails, addressees get only one copy. Your help will be appreciated.

9/16/14 update - another call to apple phone support revealed that this is a known issue that has no solution at this time.

since i have upgraded to mountain lion i get a popup whenever my system wakes up telling me that my external drive was not ejected properly. i did not have this issue with snowleopard. i leave my hard drive on and connected for use with time machine.

There is a problem with the mail updating automatically in the toolbar at the top of the page ! my seeting s are correct. i did not have this problem with early versions!! not good,

firefox wont update the mailbox to inform you you have new mail.
preivious version was ok.
all settings are correct .
tried starting new and still the same

Sorry, that "mail" thing isn't a standard part of Firefox. Seek support from the developer of the add-on you have installed that added that feature to Firefox. Support contact information should be on the download page for that extension.

Using windows 7 and FF4, randomly when I open FF all of my username and password info for my websites has been removed and i have to re enter my login info. I did not have this problem with 3.6.

None of my security settings are being changed and this is not being caused by any anti spyware program. if I go back to 3.6 i do not have the problem. I have reinstalled FF4 and now, 4.0.1, thinking it might be corrected but still the problem persists and I get tired of having to reenter login information for 20 or more websites every couple of days.

I also had terrible issues with 2 Wire Gateway and my mid-2010 MacBook Pro. We changed to WPA2 and that seems to have fixed the problem. The AT&T tech support person, Phillipines, was extremely helpful. She went through network settings with me. One interesting step was going into my DNS tab (Network Preferences and then Advanced Button) and replacing my entries with these:

It's been several days and I've only seen a few random packet drops. Still charging along at full signal strength.

I cannot use Microsoft Hotmail with Firefox 3.6.24 and Windows 7. I click on an email but nothing happens. I did not have this problem with Windows Vista. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

The Windows 7 is on a new Dell Inspiron desktop. The Windows Vista is on a Dell Studio laptop that I have had for a while. The Hotmail also works fine on the new computer when I use IE9.

Using Firefox 4.0.1, I am unable to "Compose", "Reply" or "Forward" messages in Yahoo Mail. I do not have this problem with Internet Explorer.

Clicking on "Compose", "Reply" or "Forward" in Yahoo Mail does not do anything. I troubleshot the problem with Yahoo directly and they feel that the issue is with Mozilla Firefox. I do not have this issue when using Internet Explorer. Other buttons in Yahoo Mail, such as "Delete" and "Move" do work.

Used the add on helper for clipboard and it did not resolve my issue with the problem that I cannot use clipboard with emails.

Attempt to compose an email using my company email program webmail.windstreamhosting.com. I cannot in the email cut, paste, or copy.
When I attempt to use an option to cut, paste, or copy I receive an error message. "Copy/Cut/Paste is not available in Mozilla and Firefox. Do you want more information about this issue?"

My Macbook Air (13", mid 2011) right after I did the Maverick OS update. My keyboard on Macbook Air is not working and it says "There isn't a keyboard connected" (Bluetooth Keyboard Setup). I do not use a wireless keyboard. Apparently my bluetooth works because my wireless mouse works. I am currently stuck at my login screen not being able to get in because I can't even enter my password. I forgot to mention that my power button did work but everything else, keyboard and trackpad, didn't! Using 3.6.12, when I enter a bid on eBay, FF immediately signs off eBay. Never had that problem with earlier versions. I do not have this problem with Internet Explorer.

Using FF 3.6.12, I can log onto eBay, view my account, rate a purchase or win, and search for items. In other words, pretty much do anything normally on eBay.
But if I try to enter a bid on an item, the program exits eBay.com and I get the "You've Signed Off. See You Again Soon!" screen. This happens every time I try to enter or re-enter a bid.

I am low on the techy food chain and need help. Why does my g-mail address get rejected when I fill out forms on line. I do not have this problem with Safari :(

When filling out forms or needing to give my g-mail address on Firefox, my address is always rejected. It comes up as an non valid address. I then have to switch to Safari to complete all forms. :(

You don't download apps from the iTunes app store with Safari.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

I recently updated to Photos. Now, when I am using my photo processing software, such as Flare or FX Photo Studio, I do not have the usability as I did before.

For example, I cannot drag and drop photos from Photos to the processing program. Nor can I save them directly from the processing program to Photos, it is not an option. I have to save it as a jpeg in finder, then open "other" and select Photos. Is this a Photos issue or a software issue? I did not have these issues when using iPhoto. I have Yosemite 10.10.3, and all photo processing software is the latest version.
Additionally, Photos is not even a topic to choose from in this forum yet, they still have only iPhotos listed under the "Life" category. Is Apple planning increasing its Photos support as iPhoto is phased out?

It is caused by the system upgrade to Yosemite. The new Photos.app has been designed using the newer frameworks in Yosemite, and the older applications need updates to be fully compatible with the way newer applications are sharing content in Yosemite.

Photos is not an iLife application, is is Part of MacOS X 10.10.3 and the forum is listed under system software.
