Using Griffin LapelMic to take VoiceMemos

I bought myself a Griffin Lapel Mic, which should be fully compatiple
with all I-Pods.
I did´t as farI see everything written in the Dokumentation for the IPod Photo
I´ve got, but still have no Idea what to do to record voice memos.
Do you got a clue for me?

I just got my replacement iTalk from Griffin last night. The unit DOES record with the lapel microphone. Clearly the first one I bought was defective and I will be returning it shortly.
Regarding audio quality,
1) The iTalk by itself (no lapel mic) is nice (compact and adequate for dictation)
2) The iTalk with the lapel mic had a lower recorded volume. It was clearly listenable, but I had to boost the playback volume when compared to the playback of the recording from the iTalk by itself.
3) Belkin iMic w/ Griffin Lapel mic: low level gain setting; equivalent to the iTalk + lapel mic
4) Belkin iMic w/ Griffin Lapel mic: mid level gain setting; For lapel recording this works well (good recording volume) but I can see the iMic's recording indicator light bounce from green to orange.
5) Belkin iMic w/ Griffin Lapel mic: high level gain setting; Loud recording volume but noisy. Indicator light is bouncing between orange and red.
Conclusion: If you will record in different environments (from dictation to lecture halls), I would recomend the Belkin iMic and buy an appropriate microphone for specific recording condtions.
If you plan to do principally dictation, I would recomend the integrated mic concept like the iTalk. The iTalk will still have a port for a lapel mic if you should need it, but you won't have the gain to record distant speakers (lecture halls).

here is a cheaper solution than camera kit and a lot easier if you have WIFI available.
I use the PhotoSync APP (I think its a $1.99) will transfer videos and photos over WIFI to any other IOS device or even PC/MAC. Great app since I like doing video and photos on my IPHONE and transfer to IPAD2 without synching through computer or doing cloud based storage.
You can even send photos/videos from your MAC/PC to your IOS devices that way too. Makes it so much easier.

Select all the photos that you need to change, then click the "Photos" menu and choose "Adjust Date and Time".
If you add a year, it will adjust all the photos that you selected by adding a year (so if you accidentally select one of the photos that already has "2012", that will change to "2013").

If you just mean, can I close it, sure. In Reader XI click the Tools button to close or reopen it.

If it's taking several hours then that is likely due to your internet connection. You can verify at speedtest.net

In order to take a picture of your PDF document, you might have selected "Edit > Take a Snapshot"
Then, click anywhere on the page and drag a rectangle around the entire content displayed (including both text and images) showing a dialog box:
Once you click OK, your selection gets automatically copied on the clipboard when you release the mouse button.
You can then paste it into another application (say MS Paint) or any other target document.

I ask this because a dvd I must complete tonight appears [on the disc meter in DVDSP] to take up 6.0 GB when the combined assets equal 3.85 GB AND NONE have been doubled up.
I have stories that reuse the same main movie, a fair number of menus [without using DVDSP alpha transitions], scripts that point to loop points in menus, and a scripting combination that randomly plays 13 audio tracks with 300kB graphics for the video track.
Anyone??? Please!

I may have found where the size descrepency originates.
The size of this project is associated with 13 menus.
Each of these menus has a still as the video asset and an audio track [ranging from 2 mins 30 duration to 8 mins with most at 3 mins 30 secs].
Each menu has the same button structure, with three buttons.
Button 1 points to a script that randomly plays each audio track once before returning to a main menu.
Button 2 points to the main menu.
Button 3 points to a Story which plays 1 chapter of video from the master asset [2.3 GB] then returns to the same menu. The master video has not been duplicated at all to do this, the story just points to the asset and then jumps back...
THE CRUX OF THIS ISSUE IS that if I delete 1 or two of any combination of these two buttons, nothing really happens regarding a drop in file size in the Inspector or Disk Space Meter, BUT if I delete all three buttons, the file size drops from 448.3 MB to 12 MB, taking the Disk Meter from 5.5 GB to 5.0 GB!!!!
This is obviously where my problem lies.
ANYONE OUT THERE that can help it would be SOOOO GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

HMM.. here's a thought.... The Story that points to and plays 1 chapter of my main video before returning to the same menu would possibly be the same file size if exported and encoded separately.... Perhaps I have missed something with the Story navigation.....Unlikely though as is pretty straight forward [with the help of the manual of course].

IPod touch crashed with white screen after using Griffin TuneJuice

Hello all,
I have an iPod touch first generation that has worked flawlessly for about 1,5 years. Recently I bought a Griffin TuneJuice (external battery) to get longer battery life. The salesperson said it should work with the Touch, and it did at first. But later on it did not charge the iPod anymore. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, restarting the iPod and so on.
Suddenly the screen of the iPod went completely white after a reboot. I can not get it to show anything anymore. I have tried resetting (holding power+home for 10 secs), reformatting and restoring, upgrading the firmware to 2.2 but none seems to work.
Googling for the problem it seems everyone who encountered this got it repaired under warranty, which is obviously not a solution for me since it's too old. So what I need to know is from a technical point of view what goes wrong when the screen is blank. The iPod seems to work otherwise (for example, it syncs perfectly with the computer and the "clicks" are playing).
I guess that something must be wrong with the firmware at a lower level than iTunes can repair. Is it possible to repair the firmware by using some lowlevel tool?
Or could this be a hardware problem (the guy in the store suggested the docking connector might have broken or short-circuited). In that case, is there any good guide on how to open and repair an iPod?
From searching different forums it seems the problem is quite common, and I hope that someone smart enough has got the problem and managed to solve it.

hold the power bottom and the home bottom then it will shut off after that just turn it back on ,then it should work, it may take longer than 10 seconds, you gotta be patient.. because i had the white screen and did this, hope it helps.

How do I use a stylus to take notes in PDFs?

I recieved a Samsung Windows 8 tablet (includes a stylus pen) and I'm trying to use it for notes. Many of my professors post notes online that you then take to class and then fill in the blanks with example equations or details. These are all posted as PDFs. I downloaded Adobe Reader yesterday and I could very easily take notes in the PDF file and then save it. I went to do the same today and it would not accept any kind of pen input. How do I enable this?

Try to see see if the latest pdfs have commenting enabled. Look at their document properties (control-D).

Can you use iPad Pages to take notes in class?

I was wondering if iPad Pages could be used to mix typing and handwritten notes? So here is what I want, to be able to take notes in class by typing, and when the teacher starts drawing a graph/table/picture on the board, I can switch over to note mode and use a stylus or my finger to make the drawing and then switch back to typing mode. All this in the same document of course.
Can iPad Pages do it?

If your using outlines for notes, which I would argue most people don't. (I work in a large corporation and don't see almost anyone doing this) there are other companies that make outlined notes programs that are excellent I think the omnigroup does, and I hear they are porting many of their apps to iPad.. Write ot them and see if they are releasing theirs for ioad.
Apple does have an interest in letting others make money off the applications from third parties. It wouldn't be a very good platform for developers if the out of the box did everything.
The way outlining works is the arrows in the information button when selecting an item that can be outlined. So it's one more tap on the screen to advance it.

HT2506 every time i open an image or PDF file using preview the mac take a long time to load and opens every single file the usually opens with PDF at the same time after a noticeable delay i would like to know why and i would like to know how i can avoid

every time i try to oppen a file like an image or a PDF it oppens by default using oreview built in appliction
occasionally this is accompanied by a long delay after wich the preview oppens every file in the downloads folder and i can navigate through them with ease
i would like to know why the application has this elay i really want to avoid it
because every tome i want to oppen an image there is a risk it would take a minnute or two

In the finder right click on the iPhoto library and show package contents, find the folder named import (or importing) and drag it to the desk top. Do NOT make any other changes of any sort. Launch iPhoto and you will Be fine. Open the import(ing) folder and if there are any photos in it you need import them to iPhoto then trash the imoort(ing) folder.
