Using Hdmi out, no audio with some apps

I have a few apps that do not send sound out the hdmi adapter, but they play out the iPad 2 speaker. Any thoughts?

I'm having the same issue. NO application will send audio out the HDMI connector, Including the native music / video applications. I'm using a new Ipad 2 and the HDMI connector

Will not work. To my knowledge, dual converting like that isn't supported. The Mac must detect the connected video output device and that sort of info cannot be done across an analog component uni-directional connection.

What is the exact name of the application you're trying to launch? Is it in the Applications folder?

I find using the iPhone / iPod size virtual keypad much easier to use with a stylus...as when an iPhone app is installed on the iPad. Anyway to use the iPhone size keypad with all apps?

I don't want the keyboard to become bigger. Wish there was a way to always have the iPhone sized keypad available for use with any app. When typing with fingers or stylus, the distance between keystrokes is SO much shorter and efficent on the iPhone keypad vs the "full size" iPad keyboard.
I've heard that there will be some keyboard options when the new IOS comes out...wish this was one of them.
Haven't looked yet, but is there a place you can recommend things such as this to Apple?

Epson: No Duplex Scan with some apps form the mac store

I have an problem with my epson scanner and some apps from the App Store.
My Epson Workforce 3540 can duplex scanning. With Image Capture this works. But with some apps from the appstore, witch uses self-scanning dialogs, and not the image capture dialog, it do not work. I can select duplex scan, the printer scans the first side, change the papger site, and scan the other side, but the application gets only the first side.
I tested one other printer and this worked.
I contact the developer, the said: We use standard apis from apple (ICDeviceBrowser, ICScannerDevice) and their is noch way make a failure. Then I contact Epson and they told me: Contact Apple!
Is this problem new? It must be a driver problem, or? Help!

My sound only works through the ear phones with some apps....

With some apps (Games and books) I can only get sound on my IPAD 2 though the earphones...this just recently occured. With movies the sound goes through the speakers just fine. Is there some adjustment I can make so I can hear the games without using the ear phones?

Make sure that you haven't got notifications muted (which will affect most games, but not iPod or Videos apps, nor earphones). Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to, notifications can either be muted by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar (the function that the switch isn't performing is on the task bar instead) : double-click the home button to bring up the task bar, slide the bar to the right, and it's the icon far left. THe built in iSight will actually work with iMovie if you have the version of iMovie which comes with iLife 6. (see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61929 for a mention)
There is a slightly clumsy "workaround" available for use with earlier versions of iMovie, but you need a dv cam to use it - see http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20051217210335199
I gather that "EvoCam" - http://www.evological.com/evocam.html - will also work directly with the built in iSight.
So too, should recent versions of QuicktimePro.
As for other apps, tell us what you wish to do with it. We may be able to come up with some suggestions.

After updated Ipad2 to v 5.01, with some app (in.es filmon) sound does'nt work.

Lost sound on 1st generation Apple TV using HDMI. Works fine with RCA. Any ideas about what might be wrong?

Have an old 1st gen. Apple TV that has worked fine for a long time. I suddenly lost the sound using HDMI connection. No help with a different HDMI cable. System works fine using component and RCA cables for video and audio. Does anyone in the Apple communinty have a similar experience or any thoughts. Thanks for you help in advance.

If the HDMI output on your ATV is toast, replacement is the way to go. However, if you're tried the HDMI cable to a different HDMI port on your receiver and it works there AND you're maxed out, you might try one of the splitters at the link below (at 12 bucks, an easy way to pick up a couple of HDMI ports). I'm using one of these and it works fine. It seems to sense which HDMI input is active and automatically routes that signal on to my receiver.

Why does my mic only work with some apps?

My mic suddenly stopped working in some apps. I can use it just fine with FaceTime and Skype. It does not work when I use my Phone, Siri, Safari, and Voice Memos. I did a full restore and have the latest version of iOS.

Command key issues with some apps after highlighting with trackpad

When I attempt to use command-c to copy from Microsoft Office or Lotus Notes I often get nothing. I've gotten in the habit of pressing command-c 2 or 3 times to make sure I got it. Its not physical keyboard issue since I do not have this problem with other apps and I tested a BT keyboard as well. I've noticed that other command key sequences also get dropped, e.g. command-u for underline. I've also had the delete key get dropped. It feels like Office and Notes are just to slow to respond and somehow lose the key, this frequently happens after I highlight something and quickly press command-something.
I used tap to touch. If I tap tap drag tap then command-whatever it appears to work. But tap tap drag command-whatever does not appear to terminate the drag. Is there a way to make Office/Notes react faster? Or tune the touch pad? Hack OS/X?

And after all is said and done, you may very well need to restore the device as new and start from the beginning again, especially if the glitch is contained in your previous backup. Restoring from that backup (if it contains the glitch) will also restore the glitch. This is the reason for possibly restoring as new.
Make note of all your Settings (write them all down, preferably using a PC/notepad type program), backup all your music & apps and any other important information you will lose by restoring as new. As far as text messages go, you may not be able to back those up manually (I believe you can but you'd need to purchase additional software for the PC/Mac) and will likely lose them.

Speakers stop working with some apps

I just fixed my problem. I read a post from somebody that had this problem too and he said that in the update of the os this happens and the settings for the lock rotation button has to be set for sound now. That fixed the problem as this person said.
